Just Be You

Hello there, it's Eva here today.  My layout is using the following Iron Orchid Unity Stamps:  Beloved Collection – Be Still, Provencial Collection – My Dear and Provencial Collection – Paris. I also used Iron Orchid’s newly released paper line called Wild Spirit with Creative Imaginations.  I made this layout using these amazing products.

To create this layout I used Core’dinations beige card stock.  Then I cut an 8.5 X 5.5” from my patterned paper and distressed my edges and positioned it on my paper to see where I want my stamps to be and I stamped my images using Ranger Distress Vintage Photo ink.  I also cut an 11” x 8.25” white strip of paper and stamped the border image on it again using the Ranger Distress Vintage photo ink.  Using Bazzill’s Sea Salt card stock I cut a 9.5” x 2” strip and stamped my quote stamp image on using the Distress Vintage photo ink once again and punched the edge of it with Martha Stewart’s Deep Edger Floral Vine punch.

To create my tags, I stamped my images on 4 ¾” x 2 ¼” manila tags with the Ranger Distress Vintage Photo ink and also wrote my journaling on one. Finally I painted them with Creative Imaginations Luminarte Twinkling H2O’s in the following colors:  Olive Vine, Guatemalan Green, Ginger Peach and Hot Cinnamon.  I also painted my border stamped strip of paper.

I started adhering the patterned paper, picture, my strips and tags in the position I wanted them in.  I stamped a few butterflies direct on the cardstock using the Ranger Distress Vintage Photo ink, and I also stamped the same amount butterflies on white card stock again with the Ranger Distress Vintage Photo ink and painted them with the same Creative Imaginations Luminarte Twinkling H2O’s as I used on my tags.  Finally using pop dots I adhered them on the stamped butterflies.

As a final step I added some half pearls on my border stamped strip and added the Creative Imaginations Melange Foam Alphabet stickers.  Here is a close up of that section of my layout.

Supplies used to create this layout

Designer Paper:  IOD Wild Spirit

Cardstock:  Core'dinations cream, Bazzill Sea Salt

Melange Foam Alphabet stickers

Stamps:  Unity Stamps IOD line

Twinkling H2O's: Olive Vine, Guatemalan Green, Ginger Peach and Hot Cinnamon

Ranger Vintage Photo Distress ink

Martha Stewart border punch

With that in mind I decided to use some Easter photos I had of my Nieces and Nephew.  I know they are going to kill me when they see this post because it was taken a long time ago.  Sorry, but you look so cute and I just can't help myself.

I used Samantha Walker's Heidi collection of papers and stickers.

This collection is perfect for Easter, Spring, birthdays or whatever you decide. I love the colors in this collection and it could be used for a boy or a girl.  It's perfect!

Playing with Forest Critters and more Heidi and Blossom!

Hi!  This is Jingle with you here for one last post!  Thank you all so much for your kind comments during my time here as Guest Designer - JUST as I started to figure out Typepad, LOL!  I have had so much fun sharing with you all!

I want to show off a couple of super fun projects created with various collections!  First, I have an altered clothespin from the Bare Elements collection covered with Forest Critters CUTENESS!

Hello Foxy (2)

How cute is Mr. Foxy???  Seriously?  I so love the stickers in this collection!  Way too much fun!  I began by layering the patterned paper on the clothespin and then inked the edges, sides, top and bottom.  I built the stickers up using foam dots.  (I did brush cornstarch on the back of them to prevent them from being sticky anymore.)

However...there is more to this little adorable photo holding pin than meets the eye!  When you turn it around....

Sweet Tweet (2)

Yup!  It's totally reversible!  I love that!!!!  On this side I went with completely different colors of papers, stickers and ink, but all still in the Forest Critters Collection to keep it unified.  This side will serve quite nicely to hold your recipe for your 'sweet tweet!'

Clothespin (side)

And this is what it looks like from the side!  I inked the edges with Distress ink to give them the color.

I have another card from the Heidi Collection that I would like to share with you, as well!

I used this wonderful quote that came as a thank you card from something from Scrapbooks, etc. a super long time ago!  I had kept it and I really loved it so when I saw how well this collection coordinated with the quote card I HAD to create this card!

Creativity (bottom detail)

And finally, I would like to share with you a card I created for the Samantha Walker Blog Hop and posted on my own blog, Just Jingle, last week.

This one really showcases the Blossom Collection so beautifully!

Happy Day

Aren't those papers and stickers, just gorgeous?  I really love them!

Thank you for visiting today and I hope you have a super fantastic weekend!!!!  I love reading your comments and do my best to respond to each and every one, so feel free to leave them!  Thank you!!!

Jingle Out.

Happy Wednesday to one and ALL!!!

Hi!  This is Jingle joining you all again today with some SUPER FUN inspiration!  I don't know about your neck of the woods, but here in Massachusetts it has been raining, it is raining, and they are pretty much saying it is going to keep on raining, Sooooo....with that in mind, I thought it might be fun to share some bright and spring-y projects to make our day just a bit brighter!

I got to play with the absolutely GORGEOUS Heidi Collection by Samantha Walker.  I SO love this collection!  The colors are just too fun and the little delicate flowers!!!!!  *sigh*  Happiness in paper form, I tell ya! (Of course, I *MIGHT* be a little biased, because I'm on Samantha's Design Team, but shhhhh! Don't tell! *wink! wink!*)

Buttefly Kiss

For this one I used several strips from the Heidi papers and then added some really pretty ribbon.  The butterfly is stamped (Skipping Stones Design) and then I added just a touch of shimmer using the Twinkling H2O's.  Have I mentioned how much I love those things?  'Cause I kinda REALLY Love 'em.  Just say'n.

Heidi Card

And here is a super fun card I created using Helen Dardik's Forest Critters collection!

Me+You 4EVA

Oh.  My.  Cute.  For reals, you guys, this stuff is SO stinking adorable!!!  I absolutely LOVED that background paper with the fabulous birch tree trunks and the stickers are just WAY fun!  I cut the puffy heart using the Hello Kitty Greetings cartridge on my Cricut and then just popped everything up with foam adhesive.  SO CUTE!

Guest Designer - Jingle

Okay, so yes, I have a real name, that would Jennifer Ingle, but if you've run into me online in the past, then you probably know me as Jingle!  I am SO super excited to be playing with Creative Imaginations CUTENESS this week and even MORE excited to be sharing it with all of YOU!

Let's get this party started, k?  K.  Good.

So...this is me.  Yup.  Just me.  Just Jingle.  Just say'n!

I am married to the hottest guy on the planet, Sean Quincy.  Sorry, girls, but it's true!  *wink*  We have two beautiful black labs, Maggie and Thatcher.  They are my baby girls and I love them to pieces!  We live in a small city in Massachusetts and hate the weather for the most part.  But yet, we live here, anyway.  Funny how we do these things, actually.  We love to support local business and so we make a habit of eating out as much as possible.  Wait...that's for the support part, right?  K.  I'm gonna keep telling myself that!  HA!!!  No, but really, I am a horrible cook.  My hobbies all involve making stuff for the most part.  I am a paper crafter, of course, a stamper, I work in altered art and I LOVE making art dolls.  I don't sew.  At least, not with patterns and a machine and all that. I do hand sew things completely free hand because it is relaxing and it is always interesting to see how it turns out!  LOL!  I also collect children's lit, as I was once an elementary teacher and never lost my love for the stories and the pictures!  I also collect vintage flower frogs because I LOVE 'EM!  They are my most recent obsession, actually.  I love Etsy, I love paper and I love vintage buttons and lace.  I work full time and spend as much free time as possible making stuff.  It makes me happy.  Just say'n.  So, that's pretty much me in a nutshell...not that I would really fit in a nutshell, 'cause I'd have to be REALLY LITTLE and I'm not that little.  Just say'n.

I want to share a couple of quick projects with you that I have created using Creative Imaginations cuteness before I go today!

You are So Sweet! This card is created using absolutely adorable papers from the Blossom Collection by Samantha Walker. I stamped the images and then colored them using Luminarte H2O's, which just so happen to be a favorite product of mine! I absolutely LOVE the shimmer that they add to any project! *LOVE!* Urban Cowboy This layout is created using the Wanna Be a Cowboy collection, also by Samantha Walker. I love how easy it is to pull together the elements in the collections to make a project that is completely my own! So...there you have it! I am SO excited to share some more SUPER cute projects with you later this week! And...if you'd like, feel free to visit me over at my blog...Just Jingle! I'd LOVE to have you! Happy Monday! Jingle Out.

Beautiful Blossom!

Hi! Carrie here. Here in the state of Indiana it is beginning to look alot like Spring. Little buds are popping up on the bare trees. Flowers are starting to pop out of the ground. We're getting our fair share of  harsh storms and an abundance of rain, and graduation for college  and high schoolers is just around the corner.

In honor of a special friend who is graduating this spring, I created this layout using the beautiful Samantha Walker Blossom line of papers and embellishments. I absolutely adore this blue/green/orange color combo in this line.

Splish Splash Flip Flop Mini Book

Hey Everyone! It's Jenn here, I'm so excited to share with you this flip flop mini book I created with the splish splash line of papers. This is also going to be a kit that can be purchased at the LSS I manage, Colorful Creations.

I love to cut elements out of the pattern paper, add a little glitter and ink on the edges and they immediately look like embellishments! I also added in some diecuts from Accu-cut which adds more dimension to your project.

More inspiration from guest designer, Rachel ~ Sharks and Jellyfish

I love taking underwater photos and Palau is absolutely the best place to do it. The Jellyfish Lake in Palau is filled with millions of Jellyfish that don't sting. I don't know of another place in the world where these creatures exist. Snorkeling with the jellyfish is an amazing and unique experience. As long as you are careful not to harm them, you can even touch them, but they feel pretty slimy. During our visit to the Jellyfish Lake, my boys had fun posing for underwater photos with the jellyfish. Creative Imaginations Oceana collection was perfect for my Jellyfish lake photos. The background paper in this layout is pearlized and it is just beautiful in person. I love how it matches so perfectly with my photos.

The Oceana collection may be my all time favorite scrapbook collection. Here's another layout using papers from the collection, I love how the paper works so well with my coral photos.

The jellyfish and the coral were very easy to photograph because they stay quite still. Sharks, on the other hand, glide very quickly through the water and are very tough to photograph with my little underwater camera, especially since I didn't want to get too close. I was so thrilled to get any photos of sharks, that I was willing to scrap the blurry ones. I used the Beach Days collection for this layout of sharks. I love these die cut papers from Creative Imaginations, they are so easy to fill in the spaces and the layouts always turn out right. I hand-cut along a wave in the background of the fish paper to get the wavy look. The title alphabet and journaling card are from the Oceana collection, I love how these collections work together. (In case you are wondering, one of the photos isn't actually a shark, it's a puffer fish, but it was taken in the same area).

There has never been a shark attack of a human in Palau, ever. I reminded myself of this repeatedly as this shark circled underneath us and came a little too close for my comfort. This is one of those stories that my chidlren will be telling forever, so I wanted to make the journaling an important part of the layout. I never would have thought that I would use a floral paper with sharks, but this paper from the South Seas collection worked so perfectly. The colors match my underwater shots just right, and the pointy leaves and flowers reflect the pointy fins on the shark.

I often find as I near the end of a vacation album, I have a bunch of leftover photos that are too good to leave out, but not quite special enough for their own layout. I think a 2 page layout is often perfect for these leftover photos. In this layout, I used the South Seas collectionfor this 2-pager with the remainder of my underwater photos. The border print and the pink paper are essentially the same pattern in different colors and I thought they worked really well together. I hand-cut the clam out of the center of the pink paper and used it for my title.

I want to thank Creative Imaginations for giving me this opportunity to share my work with all of you. It has been a joy to use these beautiful collections to scrap my vacation photos.

Inspiration from Guest Designer, Rachel

I was absolutely thrilled to use the beautiful papers from the South Seas collection to scrap our Pacific island adventure. The papers go so beautifully together and really enhance my photos. I would like to share with you a few layouts from Palau using this beautiful collection.

We stayed at a wonderful resort in Palau. The place was incredibly beautiful and there was so much to do right on the property. This layout shows photos of the boys on an early morning hike on the property. I love how the papers and embellishments in the South Seas collection give a tropical feel and exactly match the wildlife in my photos.

This next layout is one of my favorites. They had a wonderful buffet dinner at our hotel and youngest son was free, which was good value since he often fell asleep at dinner. One night we ordered him a fancy juice drink and he was so thrilled with the drink that he actually stayed awake long enough to finish it. I love the way the colors in the paper are the same color as the drink, and the surfboards in the pattern echo the surfboard design on his shirt. I hand-cut the flowers from another pattern in the collection and put them up on foam dots to add some dimension.

Here's another layout with photos from the same resort. I love how I can get so many different looks with the same collection. The papers layer together so perfectly and the Enjoying Life sticker says just the right thing. The rope embellishment was originally the handle of a shopping bag from a fancy store. It was just too nice to throw out and worked perfectly with these papers.

Even though the resort was perfect, we left most days to go snorkeling, scuba diving, or kayaking. In this layout we are coming back on the boat after a day of snorkeling. I love how the colors in the paper work perfectly with the sand and sea in this family photo.

I hope you have enjoyed my vacation layouts and I look forward to sharing my underwater layouts with you later in the week.

Guest Designer Rachel

Creative Imaginations is excited to have Rachel Myerson as our guest designer this week! Thank you Rachel for sharing your beautiful work on our blog!

Hi, I'm Rachel and I'm so excited to be a guest designer this week at Creative Imaginations.

I'm married to my wonderful husband of 14 years and we have 2 sons ages 7 and 9. The boys keep us busy and active with soccer, baseball, and karate. Our whole family loves to travel, snorkel, and ski (except for my youngest son who prefers to snowboard). We spend lots of time planning our vacations and take lots of pictures which are my favorite topics to scrap.

In addition to scrapbooking and travel, my hobbies include running,  triathlons, and photography. I work as an electrical engineer, so I find a real benefit in the creative outlet that scrapbooking provides. Since I work in a male-dominated field and live in a house full of sports-obsessed males, I really enjoy connecting with other women through scrapbooking.

Although the real reason for my scrapbooking is to preserve memories, I also love playing with all the beautiful papers. I find my scrapbooking inspiration everywhere, and lately when I get stuck my 7-year old son likes to help me out. I love that he takes an interest in my hobby and he really has a good sense of color and design.

Before my children were born, my husband and I took a trip of a lifetime to Palau, a small island nation in the Pacific where we learned to scuba dive. Last summer, we decided to go back, this time with the boys. This was an amazing adventure for our family. We got to swim with jellyfish that don't sting, sharks that don't attack humans, and all sorts of cool creatures. We also stayed at the most beautiful resort I have ever been to and took hundreds of photos, both above and under the water. I have enjoyed re-living these wonderful memories as I scrap photos from our trip. I have been so thrilled to use the beautiful papers from Creative Imaginations to scrap our Pacific Adventure.
