World Card Day ~ Pure Devotion

Hey Everyone Happy World Card Day!  Did you know World Card Making Day is the first Saturday of October? This card making holiday is especially for card makers around the world to celebrate the creativity of handmade cards and the personal connection that they create between friends and family.

Design team member, Lynn Kopas created a beautiful card to celebrate using our new 6x6 paper pads!

it's Lynn here to share a card with you using the gorgeous papers from IOD's Devotion collection. I LOVE the color palette of this line - mauve, pink, pale green, light blue and black. The black makes the collection pop and the diecut shapes and stickers are loaded with fun butterflies and flowers. I cut a heart shape out of Marah Jonnson's Paint It paper - but I didn't alter it other than distressing the edges. The card is super easy to make and we be perfect for many occasions.

I popped up a few butterflies and layered them to add some dimension ...

Hope this post has prompted you to make a card for your someone special!  Happy World Card Making Day from everyone at Creative Imaginations!

September/October Sketch Challenge Example

Hi everybody!  This is Alicia Giess and I'm the newest Design Team member for Creative Imaginations.  I just love working with sketches, and Nicole's sketch for September/October was so much fun.  I find that when I work with sketches, I spring off the sketch and bring a little of my own style into the sketch.  These IOD Loolah papers were so perfect for this photo of my daughter, trying fried Swiss cheese at the fair.  As you can see from the look on her face, she wasn't that crazy about the new taste.

Yuck 300

I just love making a sketch my own.  I took the general layout of the sketch and added those fabulous journaling blocks from the IOD Loolah collection to add to it.

I can't wait to see what you all come up with for Nicole's sketch challenge.  There will be a fabulous Creative Imaginations prize for the lucky winner.

New Simply Sentiments Line ~ Brights!

Hi it's Alice back again to share a great NEW line from Creative Imaginations.  Our new Art Warehouse Simply Sentiments collection comes in a Bright, Masculine, Modern and Neutral.  Today I'm going to share the Bright line with you.  I made this festive card using the Brights 6X6 paper pad.  The pattern and colors go great with some of our other existing lines like Make a Wish or Brithday Bliss.  Here's a card I made using the Brights line with matching Happy Days Die CutsLook for our complete Simply Sentiments collection shipping to stores in October!

Supplies I used for card:

Simply Sentiments

#28654 Brights 6X6 Paper Pad

#28655 Brights Die Cut Cards

Here's an idea you could use with our Die Cuts.  I cut the die in half so I could use it  twice on a layout.  What do you think?  Great ideal, right?  Also the die cuts come blank so you can write your own sentiments or stamp your own saying.

"enjoy the moments" tag mini

Hey everyone, Jenn here.... I decided to create a quick tag mini book. I figure this would be fun to pop in little photos from the summer, reminding me to enjoy the moments and not get caught up in the day to day.

I used a shipping tag to trace the shape onto Bazzill Cardstock, then I punched a hole with a hand held hole punch, and put white hole reinforcements, to make them look like actual tags. These Summer Camp pattern papers in the signature collection come as 6x6 quads, and double sided, so there was a lot to choose from. I picked different patterns for each side of each tag, decorating them. I then punched some scallop circles to pop off the side of the tags for some added embellishments. I used some of the 12x12 stickers from the creative cafe line to add words to each tag.

For the front of the felt pocket, I stitched the pattern paper to the pocket. I didn't have any stickers that said the word "enjoy", so I cut the letters separately from other words and created my own "letter-fetti".
Hope this inspired you to pull together your own lil tag mini book... when you do, please share with us in the Creative Imaginations Gallery, we would love to see!!

Beautiful Devotion Cards

Hey there, it's Tanisha Long here with 2 adorable cards created with IOD Devotion collection.  This line has a wonderful vintage feel, loaded with incredible images.  I just love the way the black makes everything pop.

I added a little sparkle to the "Believe" tag by painting the polka dots and sentiment with oyster luminarte paint.

I had lots of fun creating this card!  I used the backside of one of the IOD butterfly die cuts as the wings on the dress form.  I painted the wings with egyptian gold luminarte and the spritzed them with lime green lunimarte.

It's my Party!

Good morning!  Nicole here with a layout to share featuring the Signature Summer Play collection along with lots of other great Creative Imaginations paper and products!  Not only are the colors in this playful collection just perfect for a party or celebration, they also play well with lots of other Creative Imaginations collections and products!

It's my party

I started with a sheet of the IOD Loolah Delight DS Paper for the background, and then threw in smidgen of Creative Cafe Sky Calendar paper (B-side) to get started.  Since most of the 12X12 paper sheets in the Summer Play collection are divided into 6x6 sections, I used a little strip from each section to create little banner panels, and then tucked them under a hand punched scalloped border.  I only used adhesive under the very tops of the banner panels so that the little ends would fly free...the way a hanging banner would!

Last guest designer post by Vicky Alberto

Guest Designer Vicky Alberto back today to share a few last projects this week using the IOD Devotion collection.

Let me first say that it is no secret that Pink IOD Papers and flowers = A Perfect Layout (in my opinion). The Devotion collection is such a fantastic eclectic group of papers with endless design possibilities. This is my all-time favorite IOD collection to date. Here is a picture of my chubby baby a few years ago in the kiddie pool. I added some feminine lacing to break up the floral pattern and add interest to my page. Love all that pink!

Here is a second layout using the red and green in the collection. I was actually inspired by the IOD Beach Cottage collection to create this layout. I've been itching to used the amazing Dusty Attic chipboard shells.
I found this picture that went better with the Beloved papers so I decided to give them a go together. This is a picture of my eldest son as a baby (he is now 8 years old) and I in Cuba, while on our first ever family vacation. Ahhh to be 29 again, LOL! I added a lot of texture on this one with burlap, netting, fabric flowers from the and several torn and distressed paper layers. I adore the die cut shapes that come with all the IOD collections! The shells were coated with Deco Art Snow Writer for texture and then I used pink and tan chalk in to define the edges.

My very last project to share with you is an altered wood picture frame using more pink papers from the collection. I will be teaching this shabby chic project, complete with the large handmade layered flower and fussy cutting, in Calgary, Alberta at the North store location of Scrapbooker's Paradise on October 15th. I was inspired by The Color Room Palette #68 for this frame. I plan on putting this decorative frame in my daughter's bedroom.

I would like to thank Creative Imaginations for the honour of being featured on their blog and to all of you who took the time to read my posts and view my designs this week. ~Vicky

We hope you enjoyed the past week with our guest designer, Vicky Alberto - if you would like to see more of Vicky's work or try a tutorial please visit her blog.

Welcome our newest DT member, Alicia Geiss!

We are sooo happy to introduce our newest design team member, Alicia Giess!  Please join us in welcoming her our team!

It is such an honor joining the Creative Imaginations team and working with the fabulous CI products.  I had so much fun playing with the IOD Loolah collection.   The soft colors and gorgeous floral patterns made this page come together so quickly.  I also used the Real Wood Birch 12x12 Paper as my background and sprayed some of the Luminarte Egyptian Gold Mist Sprayer to add some color to the woodgrain.  Here's my finished project:

With some closeups:

I just adore this collection!

I also pulled out some of my summer photos for the last hurrah of summer and played with the  adorable, fun, colorful Studio Basics Splish Splash collection.  I literally took the fabulous embellishments in this collection and just designed away.  Look how fun this page came out:

And here are some closeups:

This collection is perfect for all your summer and vacation photos!
