Very Vintage

Heyyyyy there my friends! Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend! Mine was spent in the gorgeous mountains above my house. It was the opening weekend for our local hunters and I can't change the fact that my man is a true Mountain Man! We camped for a couple nights (in a nice warm trailer with a furnace, bathroom and TV so it's not necessarily "roughing it") We had a blast and it is SO NICE to unplug and unwind on the mountain with my friends and family.

{cute pup loves the mountains too & I can never go for an unplugged weekend without some projects to work on!}

{little hunters}

{a beautiful sight}

I hope you enjoyed your weekend as well and are all ready for another fabulous week.

Today's projects are made with the darling Vintage Collector Stack which is out at Michaels. Now I can't say too much or I will get grounded. But I can tell you that if you love this stack, you may have a heart attack when you what we have up our sleeves! I will be able to tell you more next month but let me just say...start saving your money and make some room in your craft room!!!

Going to be MAJOR!!!!

This sweet layout was made by DT member Emily. We got the chance to meet at CHA this last July and it was so fun to see the layout that she made with our photo! So fun! The colors in this stack are just so fun. Really timeless.

Tessa made this great layout also using the honeycomb print from the Vintage Collector Stack. Just love it. See more of her layout HERE  on her blog.

Sara made these cute little treat boxes with the paper. I think both of these prints are just too cute. The chunky chevron with the stack prints in it? Brilliant! HERE is how Sara made her boxes.

Love, love this cute little treasure box made by Karla. It would look so cute on my desk to keep little office supplies like paper clips and note pads. When you open the box you see this...

We all need to "Be Sparkly right"??! It is in our crafting blood ;) See more of Karla's project HERE on her blog.

How could you not love this lovely vintage stack?? Remember, it's at Michaels right now so check it out!

This fun layout was made by Angela. I love how she stitched on the pumpkin, a great detail. More on her layout is HERE on her blog post.

And hello, what a cutie we have here! Yes, "happy fall" it is. Too dang cute! Rachel from our Design Team made this cute card with the Pumpkin Patch Stack. Instructions are on her blog post HERE.

And if you are REALLY in the fall mood this weekend, try out this yummy Halloween mix! Not only is it cute, it is so yummy!

8 C. rice cereal squares (Chex)
1 1/2 C. chocolate chips or Melts
1/2 C. peanut butter, creamy (You can omit this, see Note below)
3/4 C. powdered sugar
3/4 C. brownie mix
2 large plastic bags
2 1/2 C. Reese's Pieces, optional
2 C. Pretzels
2 1/2 C. Candy Corn, optional

1. Place Chex cereal in a large bowl and put your powdered sugar in one large plastic bag and your brownie mix in another. (It helps to have everything ready to go.)
2. Put your chocolate chips/melts and peanut butter in a microwave proof bowl and heat for 30-50 seconds and stir until smooth.
3. Pour over Chex cereal and gently fold until coated in chocolatey goodness.
4. Put half of your chocolatey cereal in one plastic bag (with the powdered sugar) and then other half in your other bag (with the brownie mix).
5. Seal each bag and shake until covered.
6. Dump onto a cookie sheet to cool.
7. Serve with Reese's Pieces, Pretzels and Candy Corn for color!
NOTE: For peanut allergies, omit peanut butter and use MELTS for your chocolate, these will melt down more easily than chocolate chips, and increase the amount to 2 cups.

See you back here on Monday, have a fabulous weekend!

Some 6x6 Love!

Happy Wednesday! This week is flying! Seems like I just can't seem to catch up. And the kids are out of school Thursday & Friday for their fall break which means I prooooobably won't be catching up this week!

The weather here is fabulous! This is my little town's weather forecast for the next 10 days...

It may look cold to some of you. But for anyone who knows what is in store for us in Utah during December, January & know that this is lookin' mighty fine! Perfect boot and jacket weather. I think we will take the kids to the pumpkin patch tonight while the sun is still shining!

Today's projects are using some of our fun 6x6 stacks that are out at Jo-Ann. I have really loved playing with these! They are the perfect size, some of them are double sided and all of them add a perfect punch to your project.

Angela made these darling fall cards using the 6x6 Glitter Basics Stack. These are so pretty, goes to show you can really have lots of options with basic stacks like this one. See more of Angela's card HERE on her blog.

Angela also made this cute card using the 6x6 Printed Craft Stack. The pink color just pops off of that kraft paper, so pretty! HERE  is more about her card.

Sara totally made me happy with these fun cheerleader birthday cards! Um hello, how cute are these??! Our DCWV cardstock cuts so nice on the electronic cutters too! See more of Sara's cards HERE on her blog that use the 6x6 Printed Craft & 6x6 Fiber Stacks!

And last buy not least, Rita made this sweet hanging display using the 6x6 Fabric Stack. She gives a great tutorial HERE on her blog how she got that neat effect on the heart. So pretty!

Stop by Jo-Ann and check out their great selection of DCWV 6x6 Stacks! You just may have to pick up a few!

A Burlap Inspired Wedding

I am so excited to share today's blog post with you!!! When Design Team member shared with me the photos from her brother's recent wedding, I was blown away. Tessa was asked to help and was completely inspired by the new 6x6 Burlap Paper Stack which is available at Jo-Ann.

Tessa purchased almost all of her supplies at Jo-Ann, using her coupons of course! I love how handmade and elegant everything looks!!! Check out these photos...

Tessa made the boutonnieres and corsages with the Burlap Stack, lace and satin rolled flowers. I love how she mixed the textures...the burlap with the lace and satin. So classy!!!

Aren't these so sweet?? And they aren't going to die like traditional boutonnieres!

The beautiful cake with the burlap banner on top. Tessa loves to use her Silhouette and used that to cut her letters and heart with DCWV Cardstock.

These decorated glass bottles were part of the centerpieces on the tables. Who would have thought a DIY wedding could look so elegant!

I love that Tessa snapped a photo of the bride and groom to include in their "thank you" cards. A great reminder for guests from the wedding!

And every wedding needs some handmade cards....this first one was the card Tessa made for her new sister's bridal shower. I spot some DCWV Bling in the centers of the flowers! Love!

And this gorgeous card was made for the wedding day. Tessa used the DCWV Everlasting Love Stack for this one. If I didn't know better those flowers look like spray painted silk flowers!

Tessa gives you great instructions and even more photos on her blog post that you can find HERE. I love seeing a complete outing centered around the DCWV Burlap Stack. When I first saw it I knew it would be a hit but wow, the possibilities are endless!

Thank you, Tessa, for sharing your family's special day with our readers!

Spooky Inspiration

Hey friends! How are you?? Enjoy your weekend? I was so ready to start off a fresh week. You know when sometimes the kids and laundry are too much to handle, you are just happy to get back to your weekday routine? That was me this weekend. Loving my job and loving life and happy to start another Monday!

We are a week into October. I got all of my Halloween decorations out over the weekend. I always seem to dread it but once it's out and done, I love it!! The boys get so excited to get everything out too. They went to a class at our local craft store and made these to hang on their wall. Total mini crafters!

So those are hanging on their doors, getting all ready for Halloween!

Today's projects use the Spooky Time Stack which is out at Jo-Ann right now. Have you seen it yet?? It's awesome!

Karla from our Design Team made this darling Halloween card with the Spooky Time Stack! Love all of the colors, purple has become a staple in my home decor for Halloween and I love it mixed in with the orange and black. See more of Karla's card on her blog HERE.

Rachel from the DT made these 3 cards. I love how simple they are, you don't have to do a lot when our paper is so perfectly designed!!

This skull paper that Rachel used on the background is one of my favorite prints from the stack!! Creepy for sure!

And this card is brilliant as Rachel used the 6x6 Gauze Stack mixed in with her Spooky Time Stack. How cool do her stamps look on that gauze paper?? See more details on all three of Rachel's cards on her blog HERE.

Rachel also made this cute treat easy is it to dress up a simple brown paper bag with some fun paper! The black lace ribbon is the cutest finishing touch. And I spot some DCWV Bling in there too! See more on this project HERE on Rachel's blog.

Cutie Pie Britt from our Design Team made this cute mini album with the Spooky Time Stack and the 6x6 Corrugate Naturals Stack. It's been so fun mixing in these great 6x6 new material stacks in with our printed stacks! This is such a great project!

My boys pictures would look oh so darling in this mini ;) Great job, Britt! See more of her project HERE  on her blog.

Are you inspired to get your Halloween decorations out and your DCWV Halloween Stacks out and do some SPOOKY crafting?? I sure hope so! Post your projects on our DCWV Facebook page!

October Stack-a-holic Challenge

Well Friday has arrived! My oh my, it can't be true! So happy for another fall weekend, they really are the best! I hope you have some fun things planned as we do. Hopefully it won't go by too fast for us!

I wanted to make sure you had October's Stack-a-holic Challenge before heading into the weekend! I can't wait to see what you guys create! First up is our Layout Sketch Challenge...

This month we are using a sketch from Liz Chidester & My Creative Scrapbook. Thanks so much, Liz! I love this sketch and when I saw it, I instantly knew I wanted to use my boy's new school pictures that we just got back. Funny how you are completely inspired sometimes!

I used the Sweet Tangerine Stack which I am loving right now. Just some happy, bright colors and prints that can be used for anything. Love those!

This page came together so easy for me! I can't believe the boys are getting so big. Makes me sad but I love them at the ages they are now! Being a mom is the best! All of these paper prints go together so well. Love that!

Here is DT member, Rachel's, take on the sketch. She used the fun Vintage Collector Stack, so fun!

Karen from our DT used the Modern Meadow Stack...I almost used this stack for mine, I can't get enough of it! Great patterns, love this page!

DT member, Tessa, made this gorgeous page with the Pumpkin Patch & Homeroom Stacks. Soooo beautiful!!

Are you inspired to create your own take on this sketch? I sure hope so!

And for the Card Color Challenge, we are using the colors in the Pumpkin Patch Stack as our inspiration this month! You can make any kind of card, it doesn't have to be fall themed or it can totally be.

I kept my card simple this month. I saw this print and just loved it and couldn't cover it up! You can't tell but I put tiny little pearls in the center of each flower. Love, love, love!

DT Member, Sara, chose to make a fun card with the colors without making it a fall themed card. Anything goes with the color challenge!

And thanks to DT member, Angela, for making this sweet card for the Color Challenge using the 6x6 Glitter Basics Stack. So pretty, whoever is getting the Alexander Family for Thanksgiving may be getting this card!

Remember, you can enter up until 10/29! Enter by either emailing your photo to me (, or by posting a photo of your project on either our DCWV Facebook Page or our Instagram Page (@dcwvinc) Be sure to mention which DCWV Stack you used too! It doesn't have to be a new stack either, but you know that by now.

I predict I will be blown away by your amazing projects this always! I love seeing your creativity in action.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Wednesday

It is a Happy Wednesday around here today and I hope it is where you are! Things here are busy, busy! I feel like ever since the boys went back to school, I have really been working harder than I ever have. I think it may be connected to the fact that I have almost 8 hours of uninterrupted work time every day! Hummmm, I wonder how that helps?! But really, things are great.

I am REALLY excited to participate in a special Social Media Success Summit which is a month long seminar online that will help me learn more and do my job better. I feel blessed to work for a company who is invested in giving me the tools to learn more and in return helping our company grow!

One quick favor-I know I asked for your help with a survey last week...but I have 1 more survey with some follow up questions that I would LOVE your feedback with! Only 15 questions, super quick. Promise! Find the survey HERE. Thanks in advance!

Have you spotted this GEM of a stack at Michaels yet?? It is out right now and it's unlike any stack we have ever made. It is beautiful, elegant, timeless and all about family. It will make incredible heritage layout and projects, including this first project that I get to show you.

I just love this altered canvas that Design Team member, Emily, made using the Family Bound Stack. She made is for a gift for her Grandmother and I just know that her Grandmother will treasure it forever. It really is fabulous when a handmade item becomes a family keepsake and I think this canvas will be just that.

Emily gave great photo instructions on her blog that you can find HERE

Here is another great idea that DT member, Sara, came up with. She framed some foam core covered with the 6x6 Burlap Stack to make an interactive frame. You can add photos to it or the "A" was cut with the Cricut and the Family Bound Stack. I think this is a great way to keep things pretty and organized at the same time. See more of Sara's project HERE on her blog post.

Have a wonderful day! Friday I will be posting October's Stack-a-holic Challenge so stay tuned!
