July: Stack-a-holic Template Challenge WINNERS!
Oh today's post is so hard!
I am feeling soooo guilty! Last night I went through all of the submissions for this month's challenge! All I can say is, wow. I seriously could have EASILY had a Top 20 this month!! You blow me away! I feel so bad picking a Top 10!
If you didn't see the challenge, I asked everyone to create a layout using this template:
This was probably my hardest month to pick my favorites. I couldn't believe how great y'all did with the 2 page layout!! I feel like a meany-pants but I have to pick my top ones. But luckily I will let my little boy giving me a number between 1 & 10 to decide a winner :)
Here are my top 10 this month...Remember, click on the photo for a bigger view!!
Celebrations Stack by Yanely Abreu
The banner pieces work perfectly with the photos and papers!
Mod Retro Stack by Kristy Luccketta
(I am a sucker for dressed up dogs lol)
Ultimate Stack by Angela Alexander
Love how it was altered for a 8 1/2 x 11 layout
Eco Stack by Kathy Perry
Who would have guessed this was the Eco Stack used?!
Tis' the Season Digital Stack by Amber McBurney
Fun having a digital version!
Flower Shower Stack by Tracy Thompson
Nantucket Stack by Amy Jo Middleton
This one just makes me happy!
Linen Closet Stack by Sandy Lewis
Love how the soft colors match the mood of the title
Dots, Stripes & Plaids Stack by Brittany Kohl
love the rounded edges instead of the banner pieces
Downtown Loft Stack by Mandy Stallins
Great, unique color combination
One of the reasons why I love these challenges, it allows you to break into your stacks, old or new, and create! I love seeing some of my older, favorite stacks used. Like Downtown Loft & Mod Retro! So fun...it's like running into an old friend at the grocery store :)
Out of these TOP 10 I want to pick a winner...so my little guy picked a number between 1 & 10....
Congratulations to...
Sandy Lewis!
Send me your address and I will get some of our newest stacks sent right out to you!!

Midnight Spell Advent Calendar
Wow oh wow. I think I am recovered from CHA!! Yesterday was a Utah State holiday so I got an extra day in the weekend. Loved relaxing & spending time with my little family this weekend. I needed it so bad! But today is a new day, ready to tackle some new projects & super excited about some stuff coming my way!!
I wanted to share with you the class that I taught last week in Chicago! We had so much fun and I knew you would want to see what we made :)
This group was hilarious, I think I laughed at least 1/2 of the 2 hour class!!!
Teaching is my passion! I love any chance I get to do it :)
So here is what we made!
It is a hanging Halloween "Trick or Treat" Advent Calendar made out of the Midnight Spell Stack. Each little envelope holds either a "trick" which your family has to do, or a "treat" of a little candy that you put in. So fun!
Here are the instructions and the two downloads! Have fun creating!! Tomorrow is your last day to enter into
this month's Stack-a-holic Challenge!! I will post the winners on Friday!!

"All About Me" Family Tree
Hello my sweet friends!!
Can you believe that CHA-Summer is 6 days away?! I can't!! I am so excited to get to Chicago and work on getting our booth {perfect} to display all of our new goodies! And you know I am very good about posting lots of great photos and videos of our booth for you to home at enjoy! Watch for them starting Monday ;)
Here is a project that I made for our booth using the new "All About Me"Stack which we are releasing next week! I will post a video on Friday showing you the All About Me & the Collage Musings Stacks! Lots of fun stuff coming on the blog!
This stack has lots of different pages that are created to make a great "All About Me" album! This is one of the pages, meant to feature your family tree. I thought it would be perfect in a frame!
I hand cut some of the elements and popped them up on foam adhesive to give the frame some dimension. And I shrunk down our family photos in Photoshop. Love the little heart on the swing!
It's such a darling stack! Can't wait to show you in the video on Friday :)
Have a fabulous day!!

Stacks Sure Come in Handy :)
Hey everyone! I hope you had a fabulous weekend! I definitely did...and I wanted to give you a peak into what I worked on :)
I was reminded why I love scrapbooking so much and WHY I do it. When my best friend Amberly died, I knew that her scrapbooks were going to be the biggest part of her legacy that we had to complete. Am loved to scrap! She was such a perfectionist tho, she would spend hours on her pages and quickly got further and further "behind." She printed and organized all of her photos, knowing that she had to get her books going! While she was sick, I tried to get her to let us work on her books so she could do the journaling and help us with "who, what, where". She refused over and over, wanting to do her pages herself for her boys. It was too important to her to let someone else do them. So time went on, she still refused my help. Quickly, she was too sick to even get her stuff out. She joked and said that I would just have to finish them for her. Sadly, that's what is happening now. 6 weeks after her death, her family and friends all met together for the first of many weekends to come to work on her scrapbooks. With 4 boys all with their own books plus a family album, it's a lot of work! But it was such a special time and I was reminded why we scrap and buy stacks...to document memories for generations to come.
Here are a few photos from the weekend...click on the photo to enlarge.
1. Lots of friends, working hard :)
2. Found a special photo that deserved it's own page. Sometimes a photo just needs that.
3. Amberly's sister, Brit, working on some of her first scrapbook pages ever!
4. In situations like these, stacks are the ONLY way to go! Coordinating prints...you can always find matching colors and the pages go so far! I hate open stock paper mess!
5. A camping layout for little Nathan's scrapbook. Used the Green Stack
6. Another layout for Nathan...Used the new, updated All About Boy Stack. With 4 little boys, lots of boy papers were needed and I had the right stacks :)
7. Nathan started with 2 pages in his scrapbook and now his first 2 years are done in his first book. The other three boys are all caught up to 2008, big progress but still lots to do!
I know there are many ways to document your memories and photos. Traditional scrapbooks like Amberlys, mini albums, digital albums. Anyway you do it, just do it!! It is part of your legacy, part of what you will leave behind.
Just another reason why I love this industry so much!!
Have a great day...be back on Wednesday with some fun CHA sneak peaks :)

July: Stack-a-holic Template Challenge
Another month, another challenge!!
These challenges have quickly become my favorite thing on the blog :) Probably because I love seeing all of your talent!! It's so much fun to see the entries! I wanted to shake it up a little this month :)
I will give you the template...you make the page. Share it on our Facebook page, share it on your blog and send a link or email it to me at erinmadsen@diecutsinc.com. You have until July 27 to submit your page. I will pick my "Top 10" submissions to share on the blog and I will pick a random winner from those 10 for an awesome prize of three of our newest stacks! Wanna play??!
{click layout for a larger view}
Yes, I picked a 2 page layout this month!! I am usually a one page layout kinda girl. But it's fun to mix it up sometimes, especially when you have lots of great memories in photos that you want to capture in your page.
I was so excited to get out the Tattered Time Stack again. I have some great, great news on this stack. At CHA we will announce that it will be available for stores to order and carry and will no longer be an exclusive stack to Jo-Anns. Which means it will be around longer and available more places!
If you flip the stack over, you get a few project ideas...love that :)
I stuck to the template for the most part....the only thing I replaced were the two horizontal photos on the left page with one big vertical 5x7. I wanted my man to show off on the page since I'm so proud of him :)
{click on page to enlarge}
Still completely loving this stack!
I have gotten lots of questions on how I photograph my pages. So here it is :) On my porch standing right above it. Then I crop it in my photo editing program.
So I have lots of photos of my toes :) Aren't they so cute?! Love
Jamberry Nails :)
I love making pages with a sketch! For some reason, it gives me somewhere to start instead of staring at an empty page forever :) Check out
Sketch Savvy for even more sketches!
So get out your favorite stack and some photos and come play with us this month! Remember, you have until July 27th to get me your finished pages!
Have a fabulous weekend everyone! I will be back on Monday :)

My Office!
Hey everyone!! I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend!! I had fun plans...that came to a halt when i had my first experience with food poisoning! Yuck. Hope it was my last experience too!! But I am doing much better and am so ready for a productive week :)
Today's post will be fun. But I have to give you a few warnings :) I have had email request from YOU along with a few of my co-workers :) to show some pictures of my home office. As you know, I am SO lucky to work from home and go in the office when I am needed. (I live 1 hour away from the DCWV office so I still make it in once every 2 weeks at least). I joke and tell them that I get WAY more accomplished at home than I would in the office....I laugh but it's probably very true :) When my boys are both in school, I plan on spending a lot more time there!!
So I have to warn you. My office is nothing too special. It has no place in a scrapbooking magazine or any blog other than this one...but I doubt the majority of you have rooms like that of your own! So maybe a few of my ideas will inspire you to get your stacks in a row ;)
My office is right off of my kitchen...in our house plans it was named a Breakfast Nook but I of course saw it as a scrapbook nook :) This is what you see from my kitchen.
I try to keep it somewhat picked up because you can see it from my kitchen, but sometimes I have to admit it looks like Halloween exploded in my office....like it did last week :)
Tubbies full of stuff...but I seem to know exactly where everything is :)
12x12 Paper Holders from American Crafts. Love these for all of my open stock cardstock.
Magazine holders from DCWV INK. Love the labels. Keeps everything in it's place and out of the dust! My biggest issue in my house :)
3rd shelf holds our newest products that I haven't shown yet. After I show them to you, they get labeled and put on my shelf!
My desk...love how I can stand up and have everything within my reach.
I love my label maker :)
Stacks all labeled on their spines. Whoever told me this trick, I love forever :)
Bins on the sides of my desk with matstacks and 8x8's
And the best part of my office for this workin' mama? The view from my chair.....
I don't miss a thing with my little boys! I love being in the kitchen and in the middle of all of the action. It makes it so easy to work while the macaroni and cheese is boiling on the stove, or while my little guy is working on his homework. I never miss a thing as I work. And that is so important to me!!
So there you have it! I told you it was nothing special! But to me, it is just what I need!
Love my job.
Love this DCWV.
Love this crafting industry!!

Perfect Night!
Hello Friday...I have been waiting for you! Another week come and gone. So fast! Guess that's what happens when you are so dang busy!! Excited for a fun weekend with family, traditions and celebrating this amazing country that we live in! Can't wait :)
Last night was so fun and so special for me!! Our DCWV family had a beautiful baby shower for our friend, Danelle. Danelle's official title is "Paper Crafts Design Manager"....titles never explain what she "really" does :) Danelle leads a team of about 15 graphic designers who create all of our designs and paper stacks. She works directly with Jo-Anns and Michael's creating exactly the stacks that their customers want. She is an amazing leader and everyone loves working with her :) I have worked with her the majority of my 7 years with DCWV and she's for sure one of my favorite people :)
Danelle is so spunky and funny. Her husband is rad and is a tattoo artist. They are the cutest couple. She loves her job and is so good at what she does....she didn't always know if and when a baby would be in her little families picture. But one day...a light bulb went off. She knew she wanted a baby NOW :) It took a little time...as it sometimes does...so when I got the news from her that she was pregnant and I couldn't tell a soul, I was beyond thrilled!!! From that moment, I couldn't want to help plan the perfect baby shower!
Is she not the cutest pregnant mama!? She has that "glow" for sure :) Such a gorgeous night!
Had to have yummy desserts....
Paper flags on a tower of yummy blueberry cake donuts.
Cute purple papers came from the "Nana's Nursery Stack"
Baby Ravae's name spelled out in a precious banner...
Balloons looking up to perfect mountains...
Gorgeous flowers in Mason jars...
A custom DCWV word search with words such as.....
Stack
Workin' mama
China
Nancy
DCWV
Baby matching game with super cute prizes...
Advice and messages to new Mama Danelle made into a scrapbook...
lots of friends...

And of course, fabulous pink and purple presents!
We really are a family at DCWV. And they are one of my greatest blessings!!! Congratulations, Danielle and Mike! We can't wait to meet Baby Ravae!
And thanks to Megan & Tai for helping host the perfect summer baby shower :)
Have a fabulous weekend, everyone! Back on Monday :)
