Challenge

SOF10 Clean and Simple

All of us make such beautiful detailed cards and can spend hours creating just one.  Now I challenge you to make a beautiful card with just card base and various inking techniques, whether it be distress inking, airbrushing or other and stamps. Dry or heat embossing and even a tad bit of glitter, but no other embellishments, mounts or mats.  Most importantly have a fun time!  Please post a link to your challenge entry on the message board challenge thread.

Challenge

WF10 Polymer Clay

The object of this challenge is to use a stamped image in Polymer Clay.  It doesn't have to be a card or layout, it can be anything as long as you use polymer and a stamp.  The directions are on the gallery post:  http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/gallery/member/42324-scrappinmimi/1597612-wf10-polymer-clay/

Have fun.  A RAK will be chosen at the end of WF10

WF10 How Distressing!

The object of this challenge is to use Distressing Inks to create a background for your stamped image and no pattern paper.  I have found that NOT using pattern paper and creating with ink has opened up a whole new realm so have fun.    I couldn't get the pictures to show up here, but this is the link.

SOF09 Inked Christmas Balls

This is not so much a stamping challenge as an inking challenge using Tim Holtz Adirondack Alcohol Inks,  Blender Fluid and optional Mixatives.  Directions as follows:

1. Hold Clear glass Christmas ball in one hand and drop a few drops (5 or 6) of selected color ink onto the ball all around.  If you are using a Mixative, put a 2 to 3 drops on ball.

2. While turning the ball slowly add a few drops of Blender Solution until it starts mixing the inks and making them run.  Keep turning the ball until it is nearly dry.  If you are not totally satisfied with the results, add a few more drops and keep turning, or a couple more drops of Blender Solution.  Hang on a hook to dry completely.  You can encourage it to dry with a heat gun, but do make sure to let it drip enough first.

Too much ink will cause it to peel after time, so do let it drip.  Work over a paper towel and you may want to use gloves if you don't like inky fingers.

Mixatives add a beautiful effect but it can be done without, showing a sheer color ball.  For this method I would choose two colors.

Pearl Mixative tends to give a more solid effect than the metalic Mixatives, both being very pretty.

If you don't like it at all and want to start over again, simply give it a wash with Blender Solution!

They can be stamped on with stazon or heat embossed.  Smaller stamps work better than larger ones.  If you use a larger acryilic you can do it off  of the block so you can "roll" it onto the ball.  It's pretty tricky but can be done.  The little snowflake stamps work very well on it, one of mine is heat embossed with shimmer ep.

Stamping is not a requirement on the balls, only the inking, but feel free to stamp if you like.  This is a very fun technique and also very addicting.  You will love the results.

Please go to message board thread for link to samples... sorry i'm a Pea blogging newbie.

I've Climbed the Golden Stair

Original Author: Unknown

I’ve Climbed the Golden Stair When I have heard the heavenly choir and left this temporal shore I’ll thrive with rapture unknown as Jesus I adore Old friends I’ve known long years ago will bid me welcome home Delighted in that bliss I’ll rest this earth no more to roam What joy will be my portion then all free from sin and pain With death forever past me don’t wish me back again When you see this old shell of mine don’t think that I am there I’ve traveled on to be with God I’ve climbed the golden stair

A Prayer of Thanks

Original Author: Helen Steiner Rice

Thank You, GOD, for everything I've experienced here on earth-- Thank You for protecting me from the moment of my birth-- And thank You for the beauty around me everywhere, The gentle rain and glistening dew, the sunshine and the air, The joyous gift of "feeling" the soul's soft, whispering voice That speaks to me from deep within and makes my heart rejoice-- Oh, GOD, no words are great enough to thank You for just living, And that is why every day is a day for real THANKSGIVING
