Thirty Days of Gratitude at The Story Matters Blog
Our design team member, Penny asked me to share a fun thing they're doing over at
The Story Matters blog. For the past month they have been posting pictures about what they are grateful for...check them out on
The Story Matters blog.
And they are giving away an i-rock tool. To be entered for the i-rock, all you have to do is post a gratitude entry on your own blog, OR a layout or photo in The Story Matters gallery, and link us up via the comments. Each day you share, is another entry....but there's only a few days left, so hurry!
They will draw on December 1st and it isn't required to post each day. Each comment with a link is an entry. And you will also get entries for posting a layout to their gallery.
Good Luck!!

Got Turkey???
How about a little gobble wobble turkey hobble to get this holiday started? Some of us girls have been working on Thanksgiving Projects with the amazing
Apple Cider collection and we have a bit of a challenge for you!
Remember this song from Sesame Street?
One of these things is not like the others,
One of these things just doesn't belong,
Can you tell which thing is not like the others
By the time I finish my song?
Well... we have been working with the Limited Edition Cricut Thanksgiving cartridge on a few of the projects, but one of the designers did not use it for her project.
Your mission, should you choose it, is to hop to each blog and look closely at what was created and try to decide which projects used this cartridge and which one did not (you can always Google the full image of the cartridge if you think you need some help). Make sure you leave each of the designers a comment on their blogs. Then, come back here and tell us who did
NOT use the AWESOME Cricut Thanksgiving cartridge and you could be eligible to win your very own
Provo Craft Gypsy. Everyone needs one of these!
Listed below are the names of the design team members who participated in the hop. Cannot wait to hear what you found out and who was not like the others. Gobble, Gobble...
Happy Thanksgiving!

Fairy Castle Jewelry Holder - Tutorial
Have you ever heard "Mum I can't find my earings" or "where's my bracelet" or "I've lost my favourite necklace, you know the one with the heart"? This was happening all too often at our place so it got me to thinking!
Hello and happy Friday from Down Under! It's
Melinda here and today I am going to share with you a fun and simple method of using a chipboard mini-album and turning it into a sweet gift that any young girl with lots of jewellery would love to own!
I have had a Kaisercraft Fairy Castle mini album in my stash for a few months now and as soon as I saw the
Enchanted collection I knew they would compliment each other and be perfect for my daughters new Jewellery holder.
First step is to take a black permanent marker and cover the raw edges of the album. You could use any colour to suit your project, however I chose black as it gives a slight whimsical, almost cartoon like appearance to the project.
Cover both sides of the chipboard pieces in patterned paper of your choice and sand back any rough edges which not only gives you a neater finish but also creates a slight shabby look to the project. The new Imaginsice d-stress tool is perfect for getting into all the tight corners and areas that a sanding block simply won't get to, especially the castle windows, doors and scalloped edges.
Decorate each page with a few simple embellishments so that you don't cover areas where the jewellery will be placed. Each of my pages has a little garden scene where I've positioned a name tag to correspond with the jewellery.
I've also used the
Imaginsice i-rock to add a few rows of hot rocks giving the castle that touch of sparkle that every girl loves!
Using a pencil mark out where you would like to have the holes for the earings and the hooks for hanging objects. Plac
e your chipboard onto a raised surface so that you don't drill into your cutting mat and drill right through to the other side for the earing holes and drill half way for the hanging hooks, once you are finished you may need to lightly sand any rough edges before screwing in your hooks.
Add rings and ribbons to bind your pages together and then it is time to hand over your project and let that special someone hang her jewellery so that she never has to worry about missing pieces again! This is an ideal gift for a young girl who is just that little bit older and not really into the fairies and princesses but still likes all things pretty and has a growing jewellery collection that needs somewhere to live!
So that's my fairy castle with a twist.
(Now from Lori...) Isn't Melinda wonderful...and what a fun idea. As you know here at Imaginisce we love jewelry too and recently released the new i-top rings and snap daddies. So we thought in honor of this awesome tutorial that we'd giveaway an i-top tool, the rings and snap daddies in medium and large to a lucky winner...that way you'll have some cute jewelry to hang on your castle!!
HOW TO WIN:To be entered to win, post a link to this blog post on your Facebook Wall, Tweet about it or email it to a few friends. Also, for a second chance to win jump on over to
Melinda's blog and let us know which idea/post you liked the most! If you have a chance, be sure to leave her some comment love on her blog too!

Enchanted Launch Party This Week (with lots of ways to win)!
Many of you may remember our very popular Fairest of Them All Collection that we released back in the Summer of 2008. It was one of our top selling collections that year and so we asked the designer to create a second collection based off the same colors and styles of that popular collection and we called it the
Enchanted Collection.
Here's a brief look at this collection, but you can see more on our
website product page. These three 12x12" papers not all of them...there are three more...but these were my favs. And this paper line has the very cool Spot UV on one side that makes them shiny!
These fun little Snag 'em Stamps are a great value at only $1.00 each. But I had to show off the cute dragon. We requested that a dragon be incorporated into this collection because we are all huge fans of the movie "How to Train Your Dragon."
Another new product that I LOVE about this collection are the new die cuts. These fun die cut embellishments are the perfect accent to just about any project. I'll show you some cute projects below so you can see them in use.
And the die cut titles are perfect...no need to buy stickers or cut out your own titles when you can pull these out and use them on your layout.
Last product worth mentioning is the 6x6 Paper Pad. These hot little pads sold out SUPER FAST in the Apple Cider and Cottage Christmas Collections so you'll want to order this as soon as you can....or you'll miss out. All our beautiful paper designs are shrunk down to 6x6", which is perfect for cards and more!
Notice the cute die cuts on the following projects??
WIN STUFF!!
So if you've ever been to one of our weekly release parties before, then you know that we love to giveaway A LOT!! So how would you like to be one of the first to play with the new
Enchanted Collection? All you need to do is tell a few of your friends about this post and/or the release of this new collection. You can call them on the phone, text them, post on your Facebook page, Tweet about it or blog about it. Once you've told your friends, leave a comment letting us know.
And join us each day this week to see what type of Enchanted inspiration we're offering up and we'll be giving away more
Enchanted products.

The Splendor of Autumn (win a class kit)
I know that many of us are already gearing up for the holidays but I always find myself wishing that autumn would last just a few more weeks longer. It really is my most favorite season. I love the changing color of the leaves and watching them fall gently from the branches. I like breathing in the fresh, crisp air (now don't get me wrong - I don't mean cold air just a bit cooler than the heat of summer!) And, I love the smell of pumpkin pie and scented candles that make me feel all cozy inside.
So, when Imaginisce came out the
Apple Cider collection I was in love!!! Truly. They tugged on my heart's strings big time!
I decided to use this collection for one of my classes that I've been teaching throughout this fall. I also incorporated some wonderful
Core'dinations cardstock which has been one of our manufacturer partners. They are definitely a perfect match!

So, do you have some fall photos that you need to get scrapbooked? Then this is your lucky day!!
I'm going to be giving away 2 of my "Autumn Spendor" Class kits!!! 1 kit to a lucky reader on this blog and 1 kit to a lucky read on my blog! (kit comes complete with everything you need to create 3 single paged layouts; PDF instructions will be emailed to the lucky winner along with colored photos)
*********

1. Leave a comment here on this post telling us your favorite part about Fall.
2. Then hop on over to Cari's blog (CLICK HERE), become a follower of her blog and leave her a comment for another chance to win one of her class kits.

It's Just Around the Corner . . .
Hello All . . . this is design team member
Tammy Wark here with you today to share some festive goodness.
I know most of you are not ready to hear this yet, but Christmas is just around the corner! With that in mind I thought I would take a visit back to my Cottage Christmas Collection and make a fun altered gift to share with you all today.
Sometime ago I purchased these tall square tubes for altering and I have been waiting to use them, seeing as I love to make good neighbour gifts for friends in the area during the holidays I thought they would come in handy. Here is what I came up with:
I filled the tubes with festive candies and Christmas coloured
Jelly Belly's then decorated their tops!
here are a couple close-ups
Hopefully this has inspired you come up with your own good neighbour gifts and start creating for the holidays!

Featured Blogger: Megan Klauer
We first met Megan when she volunteered to help us at Summer CHA. Our class was rather large and the more i-top tool users we could add to help out the students the better. She has since won one of our month sketch challenges and caught our attention again. We asked her to tell us a little bit about herself and create a layout featuring Imaginisce products.
Hi...I'm Megan Klauer from Aledo, IL. I'm married to Aaron, mommy to Coe {8}, Chase {6}, and Ella Mae {7months}. I spend my days as the secretary of our family business & doing on-location photography on the weekends. I have a crazy addiction to letter stickers and patterned paper. I am the most creative late in the evening after the kiddos are all asleep and usually have to make myself go to bed once the creative bug hits. I love to record the everyday moments and am striving to focus more on my journaling.
I currently design for Xyron, GCD Studios, Shabby Chic Crafts, The Story Matters kit club, and my LSS Scrapaganza. |

Dino-Roar Wall Art
Have you been thinking about ways to decorate your child's room without breaking the bank? Is it sometimes tough to find just the right accents, in just the right size, at just the right price??? Well...there may be a solution!
As you can see, my son is obsessed with Dinosaurs at the moment and when I saw the Imaginisce
Dino-Roar collection, I knew exactly what I was going to do with it to add some decor to his room.
I was also lucky enough to come across the amazing
Cricut Dinosuar Tracks cartridge. Together, these crafting materials are an unstoppable locomotion of creativity. I had a blast making these two pieces of art for my son's bedroom.
You can use the layer and shadow features on your Cricut to bring a "flat" image to life. I love the contrasting colors of the brown cardstock with the Imaginisce
Primordial Ooze paper. And, the
Petrified Wood paper is the perfect compliment to these Prehistoric Pals.
Doesn't this T-Rex look fierce? My son goes crazy for this one and thinks it is the coolest dinosaur. He even sleeps with his little T-Rex toy at night. Guess he must get a lot of comfort knowing he sleeps under the watch of this fierce creature.
I added a few gems with my i-rock to decorate these little guys and then I used an old font folder of rub-ons to add the name of each of the dinosaurs. Attractive and educational... doesn't get much better than that!
Complete the look...
Find some novel items to add to your child's theme...
Add a dinosaur library from authors Jane Yolen and Mark Teague from amazon.com. Add some dinosaur critters from Schleich toys found at Target. Voila - you have created a very personalized room theme for your special little one and you didn't even break the bank. How's that for a good thing???
And...to make it even more of a good thing, just leave a comment about a home decor idea you have been cooking up and you might be the lucky winner of your very own collection of Dino-Roar! We'll announce a winner early next week...Thank you so much for stopping by - Liz
ADDED BONUS PROJECT (from Lori): The awesome Brett Lund recently did a local television segment using the new Dino-Roar Collection and created a darling collage frame with it. We wanted to share the video and link you back the
step-by-step instructions on the GTU website.

Festive Feast with Coordinates Collections Kit Club
Hi everyone! It's me, Robyn, here with a fun and easy project idea. If you've been to
my blog, you know that I'm a big -- okay, HUGE -- fan of the
Apple Cider collection! So I was really excited to see products from this awesome collection featured in the
Festive Feast kit at Coordinates Collections this month. Check it out!

If you're not familiar with
Coordinates Collections, it's a monthly kit club that offers members a choice of two kits each month (but I seem to always end up ordering both...oops!) There's also a message board that's pretty fun to chat on and a gallery that's full of inspiring ideas.
And speaking of ideas...let's get to the project!
With Thanksgiving coming up here in the U.S., my mind is on food -- specifically, what am I going to cook for the holidays?! There will certainly be recipes involved, and the Apple Cider collection is perfect for the kitchen. So I created this magnetic recipe holder to stand on the counter and hold my recipes in style!
sorry for the poor lighting...I was out of daylight when I took thisI used Mod Podge to adhere the papers to the backboard that I painted around the edges with acrylic paint. Then I adhered the sheet of metal to the top and embellished the square magnet with letter stickers and the denim pumpkin sticker. Finally, I created some i-top magnets with the
Medium Magnet Daddies for a finishing touch.

Wouldn't you love to win a Festive Feast kit of your own??? Well, you can!! Simply post to
today's entry on the Coordinates Collection blog by Wed, Nov. 10th saying why you would like to win the Festive Feast kit . You can receive a second entry into the random drawing if you are currently a Fan or become a
CC Fan on Facebook! Simply indicate in the post that you are a CC FB Fan. The lucky winner will be announced on Fri, Nov. 12th on the
Coordinates Collections blog.
Happy Fall, y'all!

Scarlet Lime Watch Bands & Giveaway!

Many of you have seen me wearing this darling pink and black chunky watch band at many of the events the Imaginisce team has attended these past few months. I know, because I’m asked everytime I wear it, “where did you get that cute watch.” So I gladly explain that it is a watch band/bead kit from
Scarlet Lime Bead Art and for $10 you can string your own watch band. These are very much like the popular watch bands seen around the crafty world that typically cost anywhere from $20-30 and does not include the watch face. But what I love about my watch bands is I can change them to match whatever outfit I’m wearing.
What I love about
Scarlet Lime watch bands is they are super easy to put together (aside from being very cost friendly). You simply visit their
download page and print off the watch band you have purchased. Here’s some tips that I’ve learned from the many bands I’ve put together.
 |
One of my favorite watch bands!
1. Spread your pieces out on a piece of felt. This will help keep them from rolling off your table, but if you’re in a bind I have found a hotel bed works just a good. 2. It is really easy to build the watch from one “end” up, building both sides of the band. 3. When you’re ready to finish off your band, don’t tie it off at the very top near the clasp. String it around about a ½” and end it on the side. Trust me on this one…other side the end piece will drive you crazy. 4. After you tie off the end with about three knots, simply drop a small dot of super glue on the stretching string…this will keep the string from accidentally coming undone. |
WATCH BAND GIVEAWAY!!
So after my last scrapbooking event I contact my cute friend Christy of
Scarlet Lime telling her many of our Imaginisce fans really love the watchbands she offers whenever I wear them. She was flattered and offered to send me some of her newer and more popular bands to giveaway. Sorry I didn’t give this away before Halloween since that band is here too, but hey, I hear black and orange looks good other times of the year too.
Here’s what you need to do to win (you’ll be entered to win for each thing you complete):
Visit the
Scarlet Lime website and tell us what product you love the most, come back and tell us by leaving a comment.
We’ll announce the winner on
Thursday Morning, Nov. 4th.
