My Two Peas Story
I have been a member of 2 Peas since 2004 but I started thinking of 2Peas as family on August 27, 2006 -- the worst day of my life -- the day that my 16 year old daughter Kaitlyn died --
My sister (McStef66) posted that fateful night begging for prayers for us as we had just found Kaitlyn lifeless in the bathtub -- she contnued to update throughout that horrible night -- and when the final update came that Kaitlyn did not make it the love and support that we felt was overwhelming -- the prayers and good thoughts touched out heart -- I have kept that thread and while I have not had the courage or strength to go back and read it --I find comfort knowing that it is there. We even had some Peas come to funeral home to represent this amazing community
In the two and half years that I have been living this "new normal" I know without a doubt that I can count on my family here at 2Peas to be there for me -- I have gotten many peamails from complete strangers that have read my story and shared how they have talked to their children, peamails on Kaitlyn's birthday and angel date just saying that they are thinking of me --
AND the support I get for our annual fundraiser is AWESOME -- the Peas never fail to come through -- from donations of supplies to use for door prizes, page kits to give away and actually coming to the event itself -- some have even travel from AZ to TX -- it is just overwhelming at times --
2Peas is not just a message board to me -- it really is an extended family -- we may fight and bicker but I have no doubt that we come together when one of us is hurting -- I have seen and experienced that for myself --
