Design team member Suzanne Sergi created this sweet congratulations card.  Here's what Suzanne had to say ... "The New Arrival Boy collection is the perfect palette for welcoming a newborn into the world! With many sentiments to choose from, the 3x3 cards are wonderful additions to the paper line. They can be used as a quick premade card for a gift, or simply cut, to use the sentiment on a card itself. The embossed paper is one of my favorites this year. I love the blue, and brown polka dot combination! I added one of the felt stars to the card, and added a stick pin. To add the finishing detail,  I added small flowers to the top of the pin! Do not forget about the wonderful manufacturer strips on the bottom of the Pebbles papers. They include an easy way to create borders on your projects with a sentiment, or other miniature designs!"

Design team member Wendy Sue Anderson demonstrates the flexibility of this collection by using it to scrapbook a recent family outing.  Here's what Wendy Sue had to say ... "It's not that I don't have a bazillion and one baby boy photos I could scrapbook with this cute new collection ... but when I saw that super cute whale all I could think about was our trip to Disneyland last year.  My middle boy is super cautious and doesn't like to step out of his comfort zone, and true-to-form, when he saw that we were going to be "swallowed by a whale" while on our little boat ride through Storybook Land, he was less than calm.  Luckily, he didn't see it coming until we were almost there, and then it was over quickly - so he calmed down and we enjoyed the rest of our ride."

He was the easiest baby ever - always went to sleep on time, wasn’t a fussy eater, funny how things change isn’t it. The embossed papers made this layout so much more dimensional in real life, these colours in this collection are so rich, feels good to get some baby pictures scrapped. :)"

"A friend of mine is due to give birth in the next few weeks and while we don't know what kind she's having, I made this baby boy card because I'm secretly hoping she'll have a boy! The New Arrival Boy collection is absolutely perfect for making cards welcoming baby boys with its soft colour pallete and super cute paper and embellishments. I cut out a window in the front of the card and placed one half of one of the 3x3 cards behind it using dimensional adhesive to make it pop, which I think adds a special something to an otherwise simple card.  I finished it off by adding 3 metal star brads to the stars on the 3x3 card."

The colors matched the outfit that Zachary had been wearing perfectly. I am in LOVE with the new embossed pattern paper, especially the dot patterns. More Projects with Sarah and Melinda plus a GIVEAWAY!

Design team member Melinda Spinks knocked my socks off with this stunning layout.  Here's what Melinda had to say ... "I had been asked by a friend to scrap a layout for her sister who had recently given birth to their very first and long awaited little girl Lily. So, as soon as I saw the New Arrival collection I knew it would be perfect for this very occasion. The colour palette was so dreamy in pastel pinks that I didn't need to do a lot with the layout as the product was going to speak for itself. However, in a moment of madness I decided to do the entire background in tiny punched flowers which seemed like such a good idea at the time! And how gorgeous are the New Arrival felt embellishment flowers, will definitely be using these again and again!"

Sugar & Spice

Happy Monday everyone!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  This week on the blog we will be sharing lots of "sugar & spice" projects created with our New Arrival Girl collection that debuted at the CHA Summer 2010 show.  But before we get started I first wanted to take the opportunity to thank everyone who posted comments last week on our Candy Dots Giveaway.  I read each and every one of them and loved all of the fabulous ideas for expanding the Pebbles Candy Dots collection.  And of course I have a winner to announce as well! Design team member Deena Wuest created this super sweet keepsake tin.  Here's what Deena had to say ... "I recycled a large cookie tin to use as a keepsake box that holds this sweet little girl's birthday present. How cute are those felt flowers? They make you *look* creative when actually all the work has been done for you (shhh). I replaced the "o" in her name with the felt, then cut apart an "I love you" sentiment and rubbed it on the chipboard banner. Layer a border sticker under a chocolate ribbon and you're done. Sweet, simple and super fast!"

Free For All Friday

Hey everyone!  We are wrapping up the week with a few "free for all" projects from some of our design team members.

Design team member Kim Kesti created this sweet layout using one of our Twitterpated 3x3 cards as part of her design.  Here's what Kim has to say ... ""This layout came together so quick and easy for me. I love to use the 3x3 Cards for journaling blocks - they are real time savers. The Twitterpated Chips with their glittery finish were the perfect accents for this girly layout. I am especially happy to have this layout done for Ello's album since the photos are almost a year old (I'm only a little behind - ha! ha!)."

Product Parade: Candy Dots plus a GIVEAWAY!

Hey everyone! Today we are focusing on one of my favorite Pebbles products ... Candy Dots!  No more poking holes in your projects.  These self-adhesive embellishments are perfect to be used in place of brads, eyelets and buttons.  Candy Dots are available in our classic finish as well as newly added glitter and pearl finishes, and they coordinate perfectly with Pebbles Chips and Ribbon.

Design team member Eva Pizarro used Candy Dots in so many clever ways.  Here's what Eva had to say ... "Candy dots are really great. I love how you can use them for some many things! On my layout I used tons of candy dots (and I didn't even finish them all!), I used them as the center of my flower, to embellish a chipboard accent, to create the heart on my title and to add little accents to the corner of the page. They are glittered too so that gives a nice touch to your layout."

Pebbles supplies used:
Twitterpated Smitten (751011)
Twitterpated Cute (751009)

Design team member Mimi Leinbach used Candy Dots to add bright pops of color to her fun layout.  Here's what Mimi had to say ... "For this layout since I was talking about the subject of art I wanted to mix it up a bit. I went with some "non-matching" colors and a bold pop of red. With the photos being so colorful it seemed to pull all the colors together. These are definitely not colors I would typically put together but it works so I went with it ... after all there is no wrong way to do art. I love the row of glitter candy dots, they add that extra little pizazz."

Design team member Stephanie Baxter embellished this sweet bookmark using rows of Candy Dots.  Here's what Stephanie had to say ... "I absolutely love reading but always seem to be grabbing any old scrap of paper I can find to keep my place in a book, so I thought it was about time I made myself a pretty bookmark! I wanted to use as many different Tree House papers as I could because I just love the patterns! I cut small squares of several different papers for the background, added the chipboard owl (how cute is he?!), and adhered the ribbon to the bottom of the paper. Then I went to town with the Candy Dots! They add such a special touch to a project, don't you think?"

How To Tuesday

For today's "How To Tuesday" post design team member Ginger Williams demonstrates one of her favorite techniques for making paper flowers.  Here's what Ginger had to say ... "I love to make paper flowers! There are so many fun and different ways to create them and I love coming up with different types! Today I'm going to show you how to make a paper sunflower. Sunflowers aways remind me of fall and it just seemed like the perfect project now that the weather is starting to turn chilly and crisp here in Texas."

The first step is to punch or cut some circle. I used a 1 3/4" circle punch on my flower. Punch one from brown patterned paper and one from yellow.

Cut the brown circle into a spiral.

Fold the edges of the spiral in half.

Curl the folded edges of the spiral up to form the flower center. Glue down with hot glue to help the flower center to stay very secure.

Glue the flower center into the middle of the yellow circle.

Clip the edges of the yellow circle all around the brown flower center to form the petals.

Repeat all steps 2 more times to make 3 total flowers.   Lay out your card base.

Hand cut stems and leaves for your flowers and adhere to the front of your card.

Add a strip of paper across the bottom of the card and add Candy Dots.

Cut a sentiment for the card. I used my Cricut to cut my sentiment out of cardstock.

Add to card and enjoy!

First up is design team member Laura Vegas who created this adorable card using goodies from both our Twitterpated and Tree House collections.  Here's what Laura had to say ... "While I really love the green patterned papers in the Twitterpated collection, I thought a different shade of green would be fun to use with the pink and yellow papers. "When I got the pictures of my husband and I back, the first thing that I thought of when I saw this particular picture was, "I am so lucky to have him, he takes
such good care of me."  I then decided this was the picture I was going to use for my project and the title I was going to use was "he takes care of me."  Well, at the very moment I was putting the title on the layout, in walks my hubby Sam with a giant Diet Pepsi with fresh lime in it.  He set it down and
proceeded to tell me how he takes good care of me.  I told him to take a look at the title of the the layout I just finished.  He just laughed  and he couldn't believe we were both thinking the same thing."

Design team member Sarah Webb used the Tree House collection to create this beautiful fall wreath.  Here's what Sarah had to say ... Sketchy Thursday

For today's edition of "Sketchy Thursday" I asked some of our design team members to create a project based on this fabulous sketch by Valerie Salmon.

Design team member Kristen Swain made the sketch her own by moving around some of the elements on her page.  Here's what Kristen had to say ... "I love sketches, but often adapt them into my own designs. For this layout, the circle photo was too far away from my other photos, so I switched it around on the layout. The Twitterpated collection worked perfectly with these photos of my daughter, pink, girly and sweet, just like her!"

Pebbles supplies used:

Brown Glitter Candy Dots (744227)

Design team member Melinda Spinks always "wows" me with her quilling skills and this layout based on today's sketch is no exception.  Here's what Melinda had to say ... "As soon as I saw this delightful sketch I knew I had to use the largest circle to create a tree which set the theme for the rest of the layout.  I've been wanting to scrap this photo of my little 'farm boy' on his pedal tractor and the colour scheme matched perfectly with the Tree House collection so everything seemed to fall into place.  It still took me hours but hey, at least the initial idea came to me sooner with the use of such a fun and well balanced sketch."

Design team member Kryssi Ng may be new to sketches, but she certainly knows how to put them to good use.  Here's what Kryssi had to say ... "Confession, this is the first time I've used a sketch to create a layout, it really made the process so much easier. I completed this layout in about 30 minutes! I love the white candy dots, I colored them in with orange and red markers to make them look like peaches on a tree. The results gave me a little chuckle. So fun!"

Whip It Up Wednesday plus a GIVEAWAY!

For today's post I challenged some of our design team members to "whip up" a project using Pebbles products in 30 minutes or less. Check out these fabulous projects that can be created in no time at all!

Design team member Anna Sigga created this adorable layout in less than 30 minutes! Here's what Anna had to say ... "I created this layout in 30 minutes - I actually had an idea of what I wanted the page to look like so it took less time than usual. First, I picked out the papers I wanted to use, several cute embellishments, and then I decided what photos I wanted to scrap. The Tree House collection is so fun to work with and it fits any occasion and the Sunset patterned paper is just begging to be used again and again! I guess I have a weakness for clouds and Glitter Candy Dots. :D"

Design team member LG Belarmino designed this sweet card using our Tree House collection.  Here's what LG had to say ... "Being given this task to create a project within 30 minutes is definitely challenging to me. I am a very slow scrapbooker and my average time spent on a layout is around 3 hours. So, I decided to create this cute card.  Cards are not something I do often but with the Tree House collection, it is very easy and fun to do.  I love Pebbles so much, all the thinking has been done for me and all I have to do is adhere them together."

And last but certainly not least, design team member Ria Mojica gets into the Halloween spirit with this spooky sweet layout.  Here's what Ria had to say ... "It's October and Halloween is coming soon. I wanted to show how versatile the Twitterpated collection is and used it to create a Halloween page. The papers matched my daughters' pink and green fairy outfits perfectly . . .  all I needed to create the perfect Halloween ambiance was a spritz of orange mist.  This layout is so easy to do, just cut 4 pieces of  1/2" inch strips of different patterned papers (the bottoms of the double-sided papers are perfect for this too!) and line them up, 1/2" inch from the cardstock edges. Arrange the title blocks and cut the paper strips where the title is. Add a spritz of color, mat the papers and arrange everything and you're done."

One lucky winner will be chosen to win a prize pack full of their very own "whip it up" products. Submit your comments by Thursday at Midnight (EST). I'll announce the winner Friday morning. How To Tuesday

For today's "How To Tuesday" post design team member Jennifer Yates shows us how to create the perfect wreath for fall.  Here are Jennifer's step by step instructions ...

First, gather your supplies: A 10" Straw Wreath (from craft store), five different sized circle punches, one large scallop punch, a small spray bottle and stick pens.

Next, select five (5) of your favorite patterned papers from Pebbles Collections.  I chose the Tree House Collection: Tree House Melody, Tree House Bliss, Tree House Merriment, Tree House Trunk and Tree House Neighbors.

Choosing a different sized circle punch for each patterned paper - punch approx. 21 circle punches on each sheet.

Using your spray bottle, you will spray EACH CIRCLE that you punched ...

... and begin to turn the edge upward all around the circle.

Once you have completed a set it should look like this

*** Not all of your "circle sets" will include the large scallop punch ***

Step 6: Using your paper piercer create a small hole in the center of the circles to aid in using your stick pins.

Place randomly around the wreath and embellish with the fun Candy Dots from Pebbles! (You may need to use a hot glue gun to secure some loose pieces)

To create the "Happy Fall" sign cut paper 3 3/4" x 5 3/4" and embellish with your favorite Pebble Chips and ABC Chirpy Stickers.  Hot glue to wreath. You now have a beautiful fall decor item to adorn the inside of your home or your front door! Have fun creating yours!

Mix & Match Monday

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend.  Today we're mixing things up a bit on the the Pebbles blog as several of our talented design team members show you how to mix up our Pebbles collections on their projects.

Design team member Deena Wuest created this "sweet" card using both our Twitterpated and Tree House collections.  I love that she included an actual piece of candy as well.  Here's what Deena had to say ... "I love finding ways to stretch my scrapbook supplies. Here I used a green Tree House 3x3 card as a mat for my life saver candy. But instead of wasting the "smile" sentiment that I covered up, I cut it out with an exacto knife and repurposed it as a gift tag. I wrote a name on the back, punched a hole on the side and tied it on a gift bag with ribbon. An easy card and matching gift made a great thank you for my recent "life saver"."

Free For All Friday

Hey everyone!  We are wrapping up the week with a few "free for all" projects from some of our design team members.  And don't forget to see if you are the winner of our "How To Tuesday" giveaway below.  Enjoy your weekend!

First up, design team member Laura Vegas created this super cute layout about one of her daycare kiddos.  Here's what Laura had to say ... "Amanda was one of my very first daycare kids, nine years ago. She became just like a member of our own family over those years, and I actually call her "my third daughter." I wanted to scrap a few of my favorite photos of her, and I knew the Twitterpated collection would be a perfect match for them.  I love the mix of pinks, yellows, and greens for little girls.  To give my papers a little extra dimension and texture, I roughed up the edges with a distressing tool and inked them with brown ink.  Such a simple technique can add a huge amount of interest to a layout."

Design team member LG Belarmino created this super sweet personalized gift bag using papers from our Tree House collection.  Here's what LG had to say ... "I have a collection of brown paper bags of different sizes at home. I find them very useful and very convenient at all times. One of the good things about these paper bags is you can actually use it as a gift packaging. Just simply measure the body, adhere the patterned paper and add your embellishments. From a boring brown bag, you can create a beautiful, personalized gift bag."

Design team member Samantha Sibbet created this fun and simple card.  Here's what Samantha had to say .. "The 3x3 cards making card making super simple.  For this project I used 2 cards from the 12x12 sheet.  A few stitches to make a border and a few fun chipboard shapes was all I needed to complete this quick card."
