Sketchy Thursday

For today's edition of "Sketchy Thursday" I asked some of our design team members to create a project based on this fabulous sketch by Becky Fleck.

Design team member Eva Pizarro added a trendy banner to her layout using the Fresh Goods collection and shares a few tips as well.  Here's what Eva had to say ... "I love to use sketches for my layouts, specially sketches with lots of photos because I step out of my comfort zone (1 photo layouts). For this layout I decided to use the Fresh Goods collection, the colors are great and that kraft woodgrain paper is absolutely my favorite! I have two tips for this layout: 1) use foam dots for you banners, they will stand out more. and 2) if you don't have a matching alpha use a light colored chipboard alphabet and change the color with your inkpad. If the ink doesn't dry use some clear embossing powder on top."

Pebbles supplies used:
Fresh Goods Flower Basket (751183)
Fresh Goods Signage (751186)
Fresh Goods Window Display (751185)
Fresh Goods Come Again (751191)

Fresh Goods Dimensional Phrases & Icons Stickers (732076)
Fresh Goods Masking Tape Stickers (732078)

Other supplies used:
Cardstock (American Crafts)
Thickers (American Crafts)
Ink (American Crafts)

Design team member Wendy Sue Anderson followed the sketch almost exactly while creating this wintery layout using a mix of Pebbles collections.  Here's what Wendy Sue had to say ... "I love using a sketch as a starting point for my layouts, but usually I end up with a layout that doesn’t resemble the sketch at all.  This time was different for me – I’m not sure it it was the photo size or what, but this sketch was truly a challenge for me.  In the end, my layout looks very much like the sketch it was based upon.  I had fun mixing and matching a few of the different Pebbles lines to add all of the colors I wanted to use for these snow photos of my little guys."

And finally design team member Pearl Liu this fun and cheerful layout complete with a ticket border similar to that in the sketch.  Here's what Pearl had to say ... " I loved this unique grid design that I've never considered before and was particularly pleased to go with a multi photo layout, allowing me to scrap my teenage kids with their church youth group here.  I usually follow any sketch closely at the beginning of my design - in this case I followed the placement of the photos and the ticket border across the top half of the layout. After that I made the sketch my own , using different types of Fresh Goods embellishments to create what I want in terms of a balanced design."

Dear Pebbles

Good morning everyone!  Today we are featuring cards created by some of our design team members using their favorite Pebbles products.

First up, I (Lynn Ghahary) created a pair of cards using the Fresh Goods collection and my stash of punches and die cut machine.  I had originally created the apple on my first card to go along with a school themed layout I created a few months back.  I didn't end up using it but I loved it so much that I held onto it knowing it would come in handy in the future.  I decided it would be a great addition to a thank you card (perhaps for a favorite teacher).  The next card I created used the same stitching technique as the apple card but this time as the center of a sweet little flower.  Punching (or die cutting) several of the same shape and then stitching them down the center is one of my favorite techniques - and I use it often!  It adds such great depth and dimension to any project.  Give it a try!

Fresh Goods Daily Special (751185)
Fresh Goods Window Display (751189)

Other supplies used:

Die Cut Machine (Silhouette, Sizzix Big Shot)

Punches (EK Success)

Design team member Valerie Mangan also created a card set using the Fresh Goods collection.  Valerie focused on one of our newest embellishments to the Pebbles line of products - the Fresh Goods Dimensional Butterflies.  Here's what Valerie had to say ... "I took inspiration for this card set from the Fresh Goods Dimensional Butterflies and the clean, simple graphic patterns of the line itself. I framed simple die cut shapes from a mix of bright patterns for the focal point. I added some texture with embossed paper, machine stitching and dimensional elements, like the Chips, Butterflies and Button Candy Dots."

How To Tuesday

First things first, I have a winner to announce from last week's "Guest Designer" giveaway. Thank you all so much for your comments. And the lucky winner is ...

Congratulations! Please email your full name and mailing information (including your phone number for shipping purposes) to pebblesincdt(at)gmail(dot)com and put "Guest Designer Winner" in the subject line.

Did you know that Christmas is less than 60 days away?  If you're like me and haven't even started your Christmas shopping and list making than today's How To Tuesday tutorial is for you.  Design team member Elizabeth Carney shows us how to create a fun and easy gift bucket using Pebbles Welcome Christmas collection.  It's the perfect way to dress up those holiday gifts!  Here's what Elizabeth had to say ... "I love making Christmas gifts, but for my busy life they need to be something that is not only cute but easy! Using the fun Pebbles Welcome Christmas products and this tin made making neighbor gifts this year a snap!"

You will need the following supplies:  clear paint bucket, several sheets of patterned paper from the Welcome Christmas collection as well as Dimensional Stickers, Layered Embellishments, Ribbon, and Fabric Brads.

First, cut the Santa’s Workshop patterned paper into a long strip of 2 ¾ inches and then glue together. You need to use 2 strips due to the strips not fitting all the way around the tin. Cut excess papers off then glue to paint bucket.

Cut the Christmas Gift patterned paper into a long strip of 1 inch wide. Again you will need 2 strips. Glue strips together cutting excess papers off then glue to paint bucket.

Using the Welcome Christmas ribbon (or any trims you want) decorate around the tin.  Add a Welcome Christmas Layered Embellishments over the trims for a more dimensional effect.

Using Welcome Christmas Dimensional Stickers adhere a sentiment sticker towards the top of the tin.  Add Welcome Christmas Decorative Twist Ties towards the bottom of the tin.

Using a circle cutter cut a circle for the top of the lid. Add Welcome Christmas fabric brads adhered to top of lid.

Finally, using twine, add the metal can opener and tie to handle of tin.

Welcome Christmas Santa’s Workshop (751176)
Welcome Christmas Christmas Gift (751173)
Welcome Christmas Dimensional Stickers (732071)

Mix & Match Monday

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend.  Today on the Pebbles blog we'll be mixing and matching some Pebbles products to show you just how well our collections can be used with one another.

Design team member Melanie Blackburn focused on a primary color scheme on her adorable layout.  Here's what Mel had to say ... "I love to mix and match papers, embellishments and stickers - this assignment was perfect for me! I love the color combo of this layout on which included multiple collections. My goal was to show that themed collections do not need to be used only for themed layouts, they can be easily incorporated in everyday type of layouts. Guest Designer: Tania Willis and a GIVEAWAY!

Hi everyone! I am so excited to introduce you to this week's Guest Designer Tania Willis.  Let's get to know Tania a little better ...

Describe yourself in 3 words … sensitive, creative, ambitious.

My guilty pleasure is … Coldstone Creamery Coffee Lovers Ice Cream with Snickers, Roasted Almonds and Caramel mixed in – YUMMO!

You’ll never find me without … C.O. Bigelow Mentha Lip Shine - Spearmint.

You might be surprised to know that I … skipped my Junior year of high school and graduated at the age of 16.

My least favorite chore is … matching socks.

I started scrapbooking in ... 1996 as a newlywed, but quickly got bored with the limited supply of cutesy stickers and paper.  I picked it up again in 2002 after my first daughter was born.

My favorite thing about this hobby is ...  being able to use my talent to encourage, teach and inspire others all around the world.

If I were a Pebbles product I would be
…most definitely the Chipboard Flowers!

Tania created so many amazing projects for us today including this gorgeous home decor altered frame.  Here's what Tania had to say ... “As soon as I saw the ‘follow your dreams’ embellishment, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it!  My mantra has always been ‘dream big and when those dreams come true, dream bigger.’  With the coordinating embellishments, border stickers and paper strips, this framed piece came together in a matter of twenty minutes. Once it was complete, I covered the stickers with a piece of computer paper, then splattered paint to give it that finishing touch.”

Tips: Create antennae for the butterflies by adding twisted jewelry wire to the back before adhering to your project.  Also, don’t have mist?  No sweat!  Water down acrylic craft paint 1 part paint to 1 part water and create splatters using an inexpensive paint brush by dipping into the paint then holding the brush parallel to your paper and tapping it lightly.

Pebbles supplies used:
Floral Lane Warm Thoughts (751117)
Floral Lane My Darling (751126)
Floral Lane Icon (732056)
Floral Lane Floral Lane Phrase (732054)
Floral Lane Chips (747108)
Floral Lane ABC Stickers (732052)

Fresh Goods Dimensional Butterflies (747154)
Fresh Goods Masking Tape Stickers (732078)
Fresh Goods Dimensional Border Stickers (732077)

Lollipop Button Candy Dots (747114)

Here's what Tania had to say about her next project ... “For this layout, I simply gathered all the pink elements I had from both the Fresh Goods and Floral Lane collections to create a somewhat monochromatic layout.  At first glance the bold raspberry pinks seemed just a bit overpowering for the soft pinks in the patterned papers, so to help make the transition from bold to soft easier on the eyes I sprayed my background paper with a medium pink shimmer mist.  Then by grouping the bolder products into three substantial groups and using the paper strip from the Smile Everyday paper I was able to combine products in a way that worked perfect for accenting my loud photo.  It helps that the photo itself had several different shades of pink to help pull the colors together.”

Pebbles supplies used:
Floral Lane Memory Lane (751119)
Floral Lane Sweet Thoughts (751120)
Floral Lane Smile Everyday (751123)
Floral Lane Phrase Stickers (732054)
Floral Lane Icon Stickers (732056)
Floral Lane Chips (747108)
Fresh Goods Front Desk (751187)
Fresh Goods Dimensional Border Stickers (732077)
Fresh Goods Chipboard Flowers (747155)
Fresh Goods Masking Tape Stickers (732078)
Lollipop Button Candy Dots (747114)

And finally Tania also played along with our theme this week and created this amazing layout welcoming fall.  Here's what Tania had to say ... "“To fit in with the Fabulous Fall theme, I decided to create a whimsical fall layout using a non-traditional color palette.  Instead of focusing on pumpkins and acorns and falling leaves, I focused more on greeting fall by using repetitive hellos with subtle hints of fall icons.  I did this with a single punched fall leaf and turned the velvet yo-yo into a ‘pumpkin’ by adding a brown stem and green cording before adhering to the layout. Dark brown splatters help pull a bit of warmth into the soft color palette.”

Pebbles supplies used:
Floral Lane Hello (747115)
Floral Lane Warm Thoughts (751117)
Floral Lane Icon (732056)
Floral Lane Velvet Yo-Yos (747112)

Fresh Goods Daily Special (751185)
Fresh Goods Come Again (751191)
Fresh Goods Dimensional Border Stickers (732077)
Surf Button Candy Dots (744275)

Thank you so much Tania for creating so many amazing projects with Pebbles!  And now for a GIVEAWAY!  To enter simply leave a comment on this blog post telling us which of Tania's projects was your favorite.  One lucky winner will be chosen at random to win a prize pack full of Pebbles goodies.  Submit your comments by Monday at midnight (EST).  I'll announce the winner Tuesday morning. Good luck!

More Fall Projects with Ashley, Laura, and Valerie

Design team member Ashley Stephens created this stunning layout about her family's trip to Paris in the fall last year.  Here's what Ashley had to say ... "Before I moved here to Germany, I lived in Turkey where  it's hot and sunny 80% of the year (the other 20% is rainy). For those two years we really missed out on the beautiful changes that happen in fall! We got a chance to visit Paris last year, though, and got to see the oranges and reds in the trees, the leaves on the ground, and cool, crisp air! It was gorgeous there and we were so thankful to get that little glimpse.  For this page, I started with hand-stitched leaves and then built the rest of the page around them in fall colors. The toothpick flags help add that happy feeling that we had while we were there and also create a great focal point."

Design team member Laura Craigie created this adorable card and treat bag combo perfect for welcoming the cooler temperatures of fall.  Here's what Laura had to say ... "When I think of fall, I think of falling leaves, sipping hot chocolate, and watching my son's soccer games outside.  So, I decided to make a card, and a paper container to tuck a hot chocolate pack into for my son's coach.  I started off just making a bunch of leaves to use, and went from there.  The paper sour cream container is something I've seen lots of places lately, and easy to make.  Just take a 6x6" piece of paper, run glue along one side and make a tube.  Then you just adhere and pinch the tube ends in opposite directions.  For a more finished look crimp the ends together."

Design team member Valerie Mangan celebrates fall in the Garden state just like I do and documented a fun family outing on this gorgeous layout.  Here's what Valerie had to say ... "For this project I focused on a few snapshots of a very ‘fall in New Jersey’ experience; our annual trip to a local farm market where they go over-the-top at Halloween.  I mixed a few lines for this page but relied heavily on the Flora Lane line – a great versatile line. I cut small flowers from the With Love paper from the Floral Lane line and stacked them for some dimension and cut my little banners from scraps."

More Fall Projects with Christa, Melinda, and Suzanne

Design team member Christa Paustenbaugh created this cute and quirky ode to candy corn - a definite symbol of fall in her house (and mine too!).  Here's what Christa had to say ... "At our house candy corn is the epitome of fall coming!  We love it!  Since that signifies fall then I had to make a layout about our love for candy corn.  I made a candy corn shaped card by layering papers, then slipped a photo inside of candy corn (that I quickly ate after the photo).  The Fresh Goods and Happy Go Lucky papers were perfect for making the candy corn and layering embellishments."

Living down under design team member Melinda Spinks is currently in the midst of spring but created this layout to showcase some fun photos of her children playing in the leaves taken this past April.  Here's what Melinda had to say ... "It's always interesting being on the other side of the world and working with different seasons as we are in the middle of our Spring here in Australia and the flowers are blossoming, the leaves are all green and there's not a sign of Autumn anywhere. So I'm quite relieved that I'd taken lots of fun photos of my kids playing in the Autumn leaves way back in April and I've been sitting on them every since ... just waiting for this moment! Now, creating a 'fall' layout doesn't necessarily mean you have to use a 'fall' collection as I've used papers from the 'Welcome Christmas' range and also 'Floral Lane' which just happens to be a Spring collection ... nothing like mixing my seasons."

Design team member Suzanne Sergi channeled her love for fall into two beautiful cards using the Fresh Goods collection.  Here's what Suzanne had to say ... "For Fall week, I decided to create a pair of cards perfect for welcoming the cooler weather. I am a big fan of Fresh Goods, and could not wait to use it on these cards. These colors are so perfect, and simply colors that I love. They are colorful, and the patterns are some of my favorites.  I am not normally a card maker, but creating with Pebbles products, makes this process so easy for me!"

"I love crisp fall days and brightly coloured leaves. I also love a nice fall wreath. I did make a full size wreath last year, so I thought it would be fun to create some little wreaths on cards. I used cut out the leaves and ran them through an embossing folder for added texture. There are a few 3D foam dots tucked under a couple of leaves to help give the wreaths a little depth."

Theme: Fabulous Fall!

Here in the Northeast the leaves have changed colors and begun to fall from the trees while the smell of apple cider and pumpkin pie tickle the senses.  Fall is definitely in the air.  This week on the Pebbles blog we are celebrating fall in all of its fabulous glory as some of our design team members create projects with a fall theme.

Design team member Mandie Pierce had me giggling with her earnest letter to the state of California to bring a little fall to that side of the country.  And those hand cut and stitched leaves?  Perfection!  Here's what Mandie had to say ... "I love fall!  I wish we had more of a fall season here in the area of California where I live!  (the photo was taken at Yosemite National Park a couple of years ago!)  For this layout, I combined pattern papers from Fresh Goods and Floral Lane.  To make the leaves, I free hand cut a few from pattern papers.  I then used a paper piercer and thread to embellish them a little!"

Design team member Kim Kesti also lives on the west coast and created this layout about her son's experience of fall in Arizona.  I love the punched circle tree complete with grassy knoll and hanging sign to house her journaling.  Here's what Kim had to say ... “Fall is a little bit different here in Arizona. It’s actually the time we start planting flowers! But, we still enjoy cooler weather and little boys in cute hats. I’ve wanted to make a layout with a tree for a long time; it was so easy with all the coordinating papers from the Fresh Goods collection. I simply used two sizes of circle punches and ink the edges of each circle to further unify them. I added a few stitched accents on my layout and hung a little sign for my journaling. Enjoy fall!”

Friday Favorites

Hi everybody!  Today we are introducing a new feature here on the Pebbles blog - Friday Favorites!  Every so often we'll be sharing some of our favorite projects we've spotted around the web and elsewhere using Pebbles products.  Today we have several fantastic projects to share with you from two very talented designers.

First up is this adorable layout I spotted in the gallery at Two Peas In A Bucket by Linda Auclair.  Linda used the Fresh Goods collection on this sweet girly layout.  I love the clean grid design and how she used the embossed pink woodgrain patterned paper for her layout base.

Next we have not one but two cards from the amazing Teri Anderson.  Teri also used the Fresh Goods collection on this adorable pair of cards.  The colors of the Fresh Goods collection are bright and fun and perfect for any sentiment or occasion.

If you have a scrapbook layout, card, or other project that features Pebbles products be sure to let us know!  You can post projects to our Facebook page here or email them to pebblesincdt(at)gmail(dot)com.  Your project might just appear in our next Friday Favorites!

Product Parade: Toothpick Flags and a GIVEAWAY!

Hey everyone!  Today we are focusing on one of my favorite Pebbles products ... Toothpick Flags!  Pebbles Toothpick Flags are the perfect embellishment for all of your paper crafting projects.  They add the perfect pop of color and whimsy and coordinate with all of our newest collections.

Design team member Jill Cornell used Toothpick Flags from 3 different Pebbles collections on this adorable layout about her twin daughters.  Here's what Jill had to say ... "The Toothpick Flags are such a cute addition to any project and they are easy to mix and match from any Pebbles collection. I love the variety of shapes for added interest on my layouts and projects. For this layout of my twin girls lifting a heavy bag of apples at our local orchard, I simply grouped three flags together and tied with twine. Then I placed the grouping behind a dimensional sticker. The grouping created a quick and easy embellishment."

"My dad is a big golf enthusiast so I wanted to make him something for Christmas (yikes!) that was golf-related. The Toothpick Flags have always reminded me of pins on a golf course, so this assignment gave me the perfect opportunity to make a golf game. All I needed was some green cardstock for the fairway and greens, as well as some appropriately coloured Pebbles paper for the sand bunkers and lakes. I attached the Toothpick Flags to some Blu-Tac and stuck them to each putting green, and put one in the middle as the tee. All the game needs now is a marble to play. The idea of the game is to flick the marble to hit each pin in as few goes as possible. If the marble touches a sand bunker you have to miss a go and if it touches the lakes you miss two goes. I can definitely see my dad having hours of fun with this!”

Whip It Up Wednesday

For today's post I challenged some of our design team members to "whip up" a project using Pebbles products in 30 minutes or less. Check out these fabulous projects that can be created in no time at all!

Design team member Eva Pizarro created this adorable embellished notepad holder in under 30 minutes by planning out her steps ahead of time.  Here's what Eva had to say ... ""It usually takes me 2 or 3 days to finish a project, so doing one in 30 minutes or less was a real challenge for me! My advice is to plan ahead, draw a sketch and choose the papers and the embellishments you are going to use before sitting down. If I search my stash and I pick up only the things I know I'm going to use, I scrap faster because I don't have to make many decisions! To make this project cover your chipboard with patterned paper, add the eyelets and the elastic, cover the inside of the little binder and embellish it. I have to admit that I cheated a bit, because I finished the little notepad inside the mini binder after the 30 minutes. I cut some plain paper, put an elastic band to keep the papers together and glued them on top, let dry and attach a piece of patterned paper to embellish."

Design team member Anna Sigga created this adorable layout in no time at all by focusing on one collection.  Here's what Anna had to say ... "In order to create a layout within one hour I decided to pick my photos and collection before anything else. I started by choosing only 3 patterned papers, one cardstock, 5 different embellishments and alpha stickers. By keeping all your supplies within one collection I was able to create his layout in about 45 minutes."

Temperatures have begun to drop and the trees are showing all of the gorgeous colors of fall and to celebrate the change of seasons design team member Aphra Bolyer has an adorable Fall decor tutorial to share with us today.  Here's what Aphra had to say ... "Every year as soon as the calendar says October, I am ready to pull out all my Fall decorations and get to work on my mantel, table tops, front door, and entry way.  And I really like to add some homemade décor to the mix.  I made a cute pumpkin frame to decorate my entry way and today I’m going to show you how to make one too."

You will need the following supplies:  8” x 10” frame, paint, 5” x 7” mat, patterned paper, oval shape cutter or template, leaf die cut, twisted burlap, button, kraft tag, rub-on, coordinating chalks, and glue dots.

First, paint your frame the color of your choice.  I chose black because it covers so well.  I also dry brushed on a little brown.

Add Fresh Goods Come Again woodgrain patterned paper and mat (optional) inside the opening of the frame.

Next, you’ll need to cut out three 3” x 4” ovals from Floral Lane Memory Lane patterned paper.

Ink the edges with pumpkin colored chalk.  Layer two of them at a slight angle to each other and attach with adhesive.

Use foam adhesive to attach the third oval on top.

Cut a stem freehand from Floral Lane Just Because patterned paper.  Cut two leaves (either freehand or using a die cut machine) from Floral Lane A Little Hello patterned paper.  Attach to pumpkin with glue dots.

Cut two 12” lengths of brown twisted burlap and tie into a bow.  Attach on top of leaves with glue dot.  Add Welcome Christmas Wood Button on top.

Add Hello Run On to a small Kraft tag and attach to top of pumpkin.  Place back in frame and display!

I hope you find some time to create a little Fall décor for your home.  And be sure to look closely at your Pebbles papers to see how you might be able to use them for a variety of themes. Have a wonderFall day!

Mix & Match Monday

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend.  Today on the Pebbles blog we'll be mixing and matching some Pebbles products to show you just how well our collections can be used with one another.

Design team member Ashley Stephens chose papers and embellishments from various Pebbles collections to support her teal and pink color palette - adorable!  Here's what Ashley had to say ... "I don't get a chance to make girly pages often as I only have boys at home. As soon as I took this photo of sweet little Sydney though, I knew I had to scrap it! I'm not very comfortable with only pink so I used some of the great teal color from Floral Lane to help balance it, added the flowers and some girly hearts and I was good to go! I love that these lines are very interchangeable and can give you so many different looks."

"I chose to mix Fresh Goods and Welcome Christmas together, they blend seamlessly with their primary color palette.  I love to punch or cut shapes out of my patterned paper, and create dimension with adhesive foam behind the shapes.  To enhance the look even more ink the edges of the shapes.  The adhesive foam also becomes a great place to poke the toothpick flags into so they stay put."

Guest Designer: Liana Suwandi and a GIVEAWAY!

Hi everyone! I am so excited to introduce you to this week's Guest Designer Liana Suwandi.  Let's get to know Liana a little better ...

Describe yourself in 3 words. . . quiet, caring, creative.

My guilty pleasure is
. . . coffee and Netflix.

You’ll never find me without
. . .  my iPhone.  I love that I can check my email from anywhere.

You might be surprised to know . . . I learned sewing because of scrapbooking.

My least favorite chore is . . . sigh - laundry and ironing! It’s a never ending job.

I started scrapbooking in . . . 2001 but did not get into it seriously until 2005.

My favorite thing about this hobby is. . . being inspired by the crafters around me and making new friends though this hobby is amazing!

If I were a Pebbles product I would be . . . Button Candy Dots. These buttons are away too cute and I have to use them on every project.  LOVE it!

Liana created so many amazing projects for us today and all with a party theme - our theme of the week!  Here's what Liana had to say ... "When I found out that the theme of the week is “It's A Party!” my brain started cooking up some ideas and these are what I came up with: a display layout, frame, guest book and thank you card would look fun and adorable on a party table.  I love to plan a party even for a small gathering.  I really enjoy making cards as much as layouts and altered stuff. I couldn’t help but mix and match the Floral Lane and Fresh Goods collections from Pebbles."

Liana created this adorable layout using both our Fresh Goods and Floral Lane collections and some fun techniques.  Here's what Liana had to say ... "I wanted to play with spray ink to create something messy and yet still focus on the pretty papers.  To achieve this look first layer modeling paste on white cardstock and let it dry. When it is dry spray the ink multiple times to create various splatters on your cardstock background."

Pebbles supplies used:

Vanilla Button Candy Dots (744276)

Other supplies used:

Here's what Liana had to say about her next project ... "Sometimes I get carried away by putting too many embellishment on my layouts, but journaling is a must especially when I make layouts for my girls. I really hope that they’ll appreciate it when they’re bigger and old enough to understand. For this layout I included my journaling on the flip side of the small photo."

Design team member Kim Kesti created a gorgeous ensemble with a book party theme.  Here's what Kim had to say ... "I created something a little bit different for this week’s party theme. With fall coming, I’m looking forward to curling up with a hot cup of coffee and a good book. So, I thought it would be fun to work up a few items for a Book Club Party. The Floral Lane collection, with its warm browns and peaches, is just perfect for my project. In addition to an invitation, I also made up little notebooks and personalized bookmarks for each guest. By layering some of the dimensional stickers and cute letter stickers, these projects were actually quick and easy to create. Read a good book lately?”

More Party Projects with Christa, Jill, and Wendy Sue!

Design team member Christa Paustenbaugh created this festive layout to document her daughter's golden birthday celebration.  Here's what Christa had to say ... ""My daughter just had a birthday in August and had a fun pool party with a few of her friends. She was 9 on the 9th and although I'd never heard of this before, it was her "golden" birthday so that's what I based this on!  For the cupcake I simply cut an angled square for the base/cupcake holder, used a circle punch for the cupcake top, then a scallop punch for a decorative edge.  I used foam adhesive for added dimension, then added a "cherry" on the top with buttons and a candy dot.  Super easy to do!"

Design team member Jill Cornell created a layout about a different type of celebration - her baby shower!  Here's what Jill had to say ... "For our party themed week, I decided to do something a little different than a traditional birthday party layout  and go with a baby shower theme. We had three baby showers when our twin girls were born and I had not yet had a chance to scrapbook any of them. My husband's co-workers gave us a beautiful double baby shower so I chose my favorite photos of the shower to highlight on this two-page layout. I selected a variety of mostly pink patterned papers to create a grid to house my title and journaling blocks and embellishments. I love creating two-page layouts when I have a lot of photos to share. The Pebbles double heart dimensional stickers were the perfect additions on a layout about my two girls!"

American Crafts partners with Studio Calico

We’re excited to announce that Pebbles’ parent company, American Crafts, has partnered with Studio Calico to manufacture and distribute their products for scrapbookers, cardmakers and crafters!

If you’re not familiar with them, Studio Calico products tend to feature slightly distressed or antiqued finishes and sophisticated designs, in contrast to Pebbles’ and AC’s bright, colorful products. It’s something different, but something very cool. SC has awesome patterned paper; stickers; Mister Huey’s color mists, stamps; Fabrips; and Wood Veneers, among other products.

April Foster, a lifelong crafter, started Studio Calico, and she’ll continue to oversee the development of new products for the brand. She’ll also continue to operate her successful monthly kit club independently of our new partnership.

American Crafts looks forward to making great Studio Calico-brand products for years to come! Welcome to the AC family, Studio Calico!

You can learn more about Studio Calico’s products by visiting www.studiocalico.com. Retailers interested in ordering Studio Calico products online can visit www.americancrafts.com/retailers or www.studiocalicowholesale.com.

More Party Projects with Aphra, Gretchen, and Pearl

First things first, I have a winner to announce from last week's "With Love" giveaway. Thank you all so much for your comments. We're happy to hear that you are all as much in love with "With Love" as we are.  And the lucky winner is ...

Congratulations! Please email your full name and mailing information (including your phone number for shipping purposes) to pebblesincdt(at)gmail(dot)com and put "With Love Winner" in the subject line.

Design team member Aphra Bolyer created this fun party layout using lots of Fresh Goods goodies.  Here's what Aphra had to say ... "This week's party theme was the perfect opportunity for me to scrap some pictures of my son's 4th birthday party.  I chose the Fresh Goods collection because all the primary colors worked so well with my photos.  To reinforce the theme of my layout, I used the more subtle patterned papers to create a paper pieced water splash and sunshine."

"The toothpick flags just scream "party" to me, so I knew I wanted to use them during PARTY week here on the Pebbles blog! I used several toothpick flags from the Fresh Goods and New Addition lines to embellish these cards/invitations. I have made 2 cards here-one is girly with a pink/red color scheme and the other is more masculine (even though there are flowers on it!) with different shades of blue. Two different cards, same basic design! Easy!"
