Hello MLS fans. Today we have some fun Playtime projects to share. This collection is so fun and can easily fit almost any theme you want to scrapbook. First Ilene is showing us how easy it is to create a perfect birthday package for someone special.
Birthday Gift Set
Gift Bag
Supplies:
Paper, Stickers, Die-Cuts: My Little Shoebox
Die: Cottage Cuts/My Little Shoebox
Kraft Bag: Celebrate (Michael's)
Ink: Tsukineko
Glossy Accents: Ranger Industries
Other: measuring tape ribbon
Ilene's Tip: I bought the kraft gift bag at Michael's - it came in a pack of 13 for $6 and after using my 50% off coupon, it came out to be less than a quarter per bag. This is an extremely cheap way to make very cute gift bags and it adds a nice personal touch....not to mention that they're fun to make!
Gift Bag Detail
Tip: To create the tree, I used my Cottage Cuts/ My Little Shoebox die from the Playtime line to cut out the tree trunk. Then, I used one of the die-cut 3-D roll up flowers to make the top of the tree. First, ink the edges, then put some low-profile pop dots or foam dots in the center of the die-cut and glue it down, so the edges are flat on the paper, while the center comes up a little. This is a really quick way to create a dimensional tree!
How Old Are You Now???
Supplies:
Paper, Letter Stickers, Stickers: My Little Shoebox
Die: Cottage Cuts/My Little Shoebox (to create the blue cloud)
Ink: Tsukineko
Here's a few cute cards from Rocio

Hello MLS fans! It's our last Product Spotlight day with The Scrapping Cottage and last week we had fun featuring some of their designer's work here on the blog. Today we are showing the last of our designer's creations with these fun dies.

Next is Erin with a very elegant card created with our Audrey collection using the Cameo & Oval frame die.

Next we have a fun layout created by Linda with our Enchanted collection and the Pink Peony die.

Patti used the clouds in the Summertime fun die to create this card. I love how she inked them too.
Thinking of You card by Patti
And so did Pearl for her card. Pearl added some depth to her clouds by embossing.
Dreams make em happen card
And finally a Trick or Treat collection card by me. I used the ornate circle frame to show how versatile it can be.

Hello MLS fans! For many people the day before Thanksgiving is a big travel day. Everything is so busy! I never go shopping til the day before and it's always chaotic in the market. You think after all these years I'd wise up and shop earlier. If you are headed to the market or traveling to see family this Thanksgiving, please be careful out there.
Now for today we are sharing some lovely layouts by designer Linda Kretz with our Garden Party collection.
Supplies: My Little Shoebox Enchanted Garden 11556 and 11552; the Circle Pattern 11558 and Cardboard stickers 11559; rosettes ribbon, and Stardust stickles.
Linda's Tip: I cut edge pieces from a second Circle Pattern, and embellished with the rosette ribbon. Pop dots gave dimension to the layout.
Supplies: My Little Shoebox papers 11556, 11554, banners from 11551; Cardboard stickers 11559; Licorice Alphabet Stickers; Liquid Pearl, Prima pearl swirls, Diamond Stickles, and stamp Unities Enchanted Garden stamps.
Linda's Tip: I used the Unity stamps as a background for the sticker flowers, which gave it a different look. I also doubled the banners to make them stand out, stickled the flowers; and used pop dots to add dimensions to parts of the layout.
Our Enchanted Garden collection is so versatile. Thanks to Linda for creating these wonderful layouts.
We know there are many beginner scrapbookers out there who stop by the blog and we'd love to hear from you. What technique would you like to see here on the MLS blog? We know getting started can be overwhelming at times so tell us your technique and we'll post a tutorial here just for you.
Have a creative day!

Product Spotlight: The Scrapping Cottage
Hello MLS fans! It's Thursday and we are pleased to be spotlighting The Scrapping Cottage all month long. We are so pleased to have partnered with The Scrapping Cottage to bring you high quality dies to coordinate with our My Little Shoebox collections.
Today we're featuring work with the co-branded dies from The Scrapping Cottage design team. Let's start with our very own
Pearl's tip: On of my favorite techniques using Cottage Cutz MLSB designed dies is to diecut with patterned paper - and this card is one such example . I used the following Cottage Cutz MLSB dies - leaves from the Ornate Circle frame , Orchid Flower; the oval frame from the Cameo and Oval Frame die set. Finally , I added a little feathery boa to the flower set for a fun, wispy touch.
Lorie's tip: My tip or technique would be using white card stock and coloring the die cuts with Copic markers, rather than using the colored card stock.
Gini's tip: try creating cards like a is a Z-fold card., this is a really easy folded card to make (especially if you are using your Scor-pal.
Janice's notes: I cut all the die cuts with white cardstock and then colored with my copics, with the exception of the scissors. I used a Creative Memories silver pen to color the scissor blades.
Lori's tip: Don't be afraid to think outside of the box when creating with dies. For a complete look at this beautiful box visit Lori's post here.
Cheryl's tip: have fun by making your own embellishments. Check out this post to see a video I made when I created this card.
Thank you ladies for all of these wonderful projects today! Please be sure and visit the Scrapping Cottage blog for more inspiration from this talented team.
Next week we'll be wrapping up our month long spotlight with more designs from our team.
Have a creative day!

Halloween memories are perfect for saving in a mini album and I happened to have a fun mini from Making Memories tucked away in my scrap stash perfect for my assignment this month.
Using our Trick or Treat collection, our Unity Co-branded stamps and matching Cottage Cutz dies from Scrapping Cottage here's what I created.

Ink: Sakura white gel pen, Versafine black onyx
Tools: Martha Stewart Graveyard edge punch
Shemaine's Notes: I must admit that I have always looked at mini albums as exhausting because of the pressure to create multiple pages quickly. For me a layout is so much easier because it's only one page. So...I decided to look at this mini as one mini layout page at a time and I spent a few days to take my time to create each one and adding additional items that have been in my stash year after year like the cupcake stick on the cover. I realized that by changing my thinking towards this project I was able to create a fun keepsake for my kids.
And sharing some layout inspiration with you today is Norine Borys who has a few ideas for some Halloween layouts.
A few of our favorite pumpkins by Norine
Supplies used: Scaredy Cat - 11532, Itsy Bitsy Spider - 11538, Monster Crossing - 11533, Sunrise alpha minis - 08412, Cornmeal glitter stickers - 10119, 3D rolled-up flowers - 11531, Bazzill cs, Prima pearls, Cardworks Candi paper brads, SEI buttons.
Norine's notes: For this layout, I played with a Zig embossing pen and embossing powder by drawing over all the webbing and heat embossing the lines. I love how it makes the web design pop! More 3D roll-up flowers make for a very pretty Halloween layout!
Supplies used: Starry Night - 11535, Batty For You - 11536, Monster Crossing - 11533, 3D roll-up flowers - 11531, Blackberry mini alphas - 08409, Black Diamond glitter alphabets - 10113, Cardworks Candi paper brads, Crate Paper ribbon.
Norine's Notes: For this layout it was fun to leave the 3D roll-up flowers flat and use them as an embellishment that way. To emphasize the roll, I inked the edges all the way to the center.
That's it for the Trick or Treat inspiration today. Have a creative day!
