Happy Day after Christmas! We hope you had a wonderful holiday with your families. Today designer Shelly Berg has some inspiration with our Winter Wonderland collection to share.
Shelly created a fun and easy to create, holiday countdown with this gorgeous frame.
Holiday Advent Calendar
Shelly's Notes: For the advent calendar I simply used an old frame and some twine, and once decorated I used twine, ribbon, staples or mini clothespins to attach the tags to the twine. On the back of each tag is a message, a Christmas memory, a coupon for a treat, etc.
Here's some close up looks.
Here are a few cards Shelly created using Winter Wonderland and some Unity Stamp Co. Co-Branded stamps.
Shelly's notes: For the Christmas tree card, I drew the tree free hand and then used all sorts of border punches and ribbon and adhered them to the tree layer by layer and then trimmed. I ended up with a simply and fun card to send.
We hope you enjoy the rest of your holiday break! We'll be back tomorrow with a new Tuesday Tutorial video from our Design Team Coordinator Pattie Beltran.
We also have a holiday wish giveaway post here. Leave us your My Little Shoebox wish thru Weds December 28th at midnight pacific time. Winner announced Friday!
Have a creative day!

Project Friday with Kristine and Becky
Hello MLS fans. It's project Friday and time for another fun project idea from our talented design team. Today Kristine and Becky are teaming up on the blog to bring you today's inspiration using our Platyime and Pretty Little Things collections.
Here's a close up of this beautiful project Kristine created.
Paper Flower Arrangement
Products used:
Playtime patterned paper: Catch Me if You Can
Playtime patterned paper: Day Dream
Playtime patterned paper: Hide n Seek
Playtime patterned paper: Sidewalk Chalk
Playtime patterned paper: Sunny Side Up
buttons
Cricut machine with Mother's Day Bouquet cartridge
fabric paint
flower pot
ribbon
wooden dowel rods
Kris's Tips: I had so much fun creating this flower arrangement using the beautiful B-sides of the Playtime papers. Each of the 12 flowers has 3 layers of paper cut at 3.25 inches, 2.75 inches, and 1 inch that are centered with a button and embellished with dots of white fabric paint. I used my hot glue gun to adhere them to the dowel rods. I inserted the rods into a piece of floral foam that I had cut down in size to fit snugly into the flower pot. I covered the floral foam with "grass" which I made by running a couple sheets of the green paper through my paper shredder and then folding each shredded piece back and forth. Some green, brown, and white ribbons finished the arrangement off. I can't wait to display this in my daughter's bedroom!
Here's a layout from Kristine too!
Cousins
Cousins layout
Products used:
Playtime patterned paper: Day Dream
Playtime patterned paper: Hide n Seek
Playtime patterned paper: Sunny Side Up
Playtime patterned paper: Up in the Sky
Playtime 3D Roll-Up Flowers
Playtime cardstock stickers
Ruby Glitter Alphabet Stickers
buttons (misc.)
cardstock (Bazzill)
fabric paint
floss (DMC)
glitter glue (Ranger)
punches (EK Success, Martha Stewart)
Kristines Tips: I used several of the B-sides of this collection's patterned papers to create a soft, feminine layout of my daughter being held by my goddaughter. I added border punched white cardstock and I hand-stitched around the edge of the page with white floss to compliment the bright white highlights in the photo.
Now some inspiration from Becky

Tuesday Tutorial with Rosangela
I think, like me, you all have a lot and lot of alphabet stickers, where always about some letters that we never use.
So today, I want to show one simple way to add amazing texture to a background—and I’m betting you have everything you need right at your fingertips!
Supplies:
- a variety of leftover alphabet (or numeric) stickers
- 4 cardboard strips (11” each one)
- acrylic paint
- foam wedge or foam paintbrush
- cardstock for background
1 - Gather all of your leftover alphabet stickers and sort them by size (small, medium, large).
2 - Start applying random alphabet stickers in the center of your background, starting with the largest alphabet stickers you have.
3 - Continue applying random alphabet stickers, filling in the smaller spaces with your smaller-sized stickers. Don’t worry about trying to coordinate colors next to one another.
4 - Your completely covered background will look something like this.
5 - Now, we’re add some paint. Add three or four small puddles of paint in random places on your alphabet stickers.
PICTURE_5
6 - Using a foam make-up or a foam paintbrush spread the puddles of paint evenly across the surface of the sticker.
7 - At the end will be so, completely covered with paint.
8 - Once your background is dry, add the cardboard strips. First I took a layer of cardboard and then applied white paint, as shown in the photo, not fully cover.
9 - With strips of cardboard I made a frame on the the background and I trim the edges of the backgorund.
And now it's just decorate!
Have a merry creative day!

Hello my crafty My Little Shoebox friends, Heidi Sonboul here and I'm so jazzed to be guesting here today. I had such a great time using all of these My Little Shoebox beautiful papers and diecut embellishments that I created a few different things to share with you.
First, I loved the Destination collection and wanted to use the color schemes to create a holiday layout.
That is one big tree
Heidi's Tips:
Just look at these little cars. I know that they were taxies, but with a Christmas tree on top it's now a family car! I love themed papers like this because it allows you to use it in more way than one. So fun right?! I also add mini snowflakes to give a winter feel. Honestly it wasn't snowing that day, but that info won't stop me from using it on this themed layout ;)
I love to cluster items like my photos and tags. it almost become a fresh take on old embellishments, don't ya think?!
Other layout tips: I love basic shapes and turning them into something cool. I used this square stamp with curved corners again and again to create my look. I then added little flowers in between them to finish the look. I placed them all on a bright yellow to make them pop and shine.
******************
The Year of Gratitude
Heidi's Tip: I started a challenge called "The year of Gratitude-365" and you can read all about it here at the link provided. I post every Thursday with more things I'm grateful for and for my Dec. 2. 2011 card I used this cute travel collection. I love the sherbet-y colors and the wonderful basic patterns.
Then can you link the Year of Gratitude to this post... to let me know what it is?
http://queenofpaper.blogspot.com/2011/12/year-of-gratitude-project-365.html
And finally, something fun with the Audrey collection.
Yes, I sure did hand cut and inked all of those squares one by one cause that's just how I roll. I used foam squares to make the pop!
Thanks to the MLS team for allowing me to visit with you all today. I hope you found something to inspire you to create with your My Little Shoebox paper. Happy Holidays!

Hello MLS fans! Are you still needing ideas for holiday cards? Thanks to designer Melinda's creative mind we have some pretty fantastic holiday card ideas to share today that she created with our Destination collection.
Tis the season
Christmas Wishes
Jolly Holiday
Melinda's Tip: Creating Christmas cards can sometimes be a bit daunting because you always need so many and coming up with different designs can take longer than actually making the cards. So I decided this year I was going to have a few basic designs and re-produce the cards over and over using different patterned paper and embellishments. Now the Destination Collection is far from being a Christmas style range of papers but that doesn't mean the gorgeous patterns and colours can't be used to create a set of festive cards. I mixed and matched and came up with three cards using the same design yet vastly different in their colour scheme and they all have that hint of Christmas regardless of being totally absent of holly leaves and tinsel.
