Introducing Keely Yowler

Hello MLS fans! We are pleased to finish off our design team introductions with...

Hi!  I’m over the moon excited to be joining the My Little Shoebox Design Team.  I have been paper crafting for 11 years and love to create 12 x 12 layouts, stamped cards, mini-albums, and altered projects.  I live in Georgetown, Kentucky with my husband, our 5 children, and lots of puppies and kitties.   There is never a dull moment in our house J  You’ll find me all over the scrapping world chatting on message boards and entering challenges.  I love visiting blogs and galleries admiring the creativity of fellow crafters.  When I’m not scrapbooking, I enjoy photography, weekend road trips, and reading my favorite magazines.

Here's a look at Keely's submissions

Well as you have seen all month long, we've got some talented ladies! We look forward to seeing more designs from Keely during her term.

Well the Royal Wedding is over and what an affair it was! Some were staying up all night to watch!  Not us tho, we've got to be up for our kids but thank goodness for Tivo right!

Enjoy your weekend !

Introducing Becky Williams

Hello MLS fans! It's the middle of the week and so far I feel like I haven't even put a dent in my crafty to do list for the week. Speaking of crafy to do's, are you creating for our current contest? Find out all the deets right here on this post.

Today we are pleased to introduce...

Hello! My name is Becky Williams and I live in west Texas cotton and oil country with my husband and 3 little girls and basset hound puppy, Bella. We are expecting another baby girl soon, too. I love daisies and sunflowers, hazelnut hot chocolate, good ol' country music, playing in the garden, the Gilmore Girls re-runs and traveling. I have been scrapbooking in one form or another since I was a teenager and scrap any chance I can . In my projects you'll be sure to find some doodling, layering,  handcut elements and some ink or paint. I have been blessed with many opportunities in the scrapbooking world from being published in print magazines to being on some wonderful design teams. I am excited about this new opportunity to design for My Little Shoebox and can't wait to see what the year will bring.

 Here's a look at Becky's submissions

Wow...beautiful work right? We look forward to more of Becky's work this year! Let's leave Becky some welcome message today!

Tomorrow we say goodbye to our Guest Designer Nichol Magouirk. We've saved the best for last so make sure you visit us tmr to see what Nichol created for her send off!

Returning designers Nicole and Susan

Hello MLS fans! Today we are also welcoming back...

  Wragge (29 of 71)_2

Greetings! My name is Nicole Wragge and I currently live in the Phoenix with my dear husband and two silly daughters. I am blessed to be a stay at home mom and it has brought such joy and a deep sense of thankfulness to my life. My family keeps me pretty busy with play dates and charity events, but when I get some "me" time I usually spend it scrapping, taking photos of the everyday super-fun chaos and listening to music. I have been scrapping a few years, however it wasn't until recently did I discover the true depth of this amazing craft. When inspiration hits me it's time to brainstorm, sketch, raid my ever-growing stash and CREATE! I have been known for hosting family picnics in our living room because the kitchen table is covered with my in-the-works projects!  I feel so very lucky to be a part of this design team and I look forward to all the creativity to come! Creative Cheers!

Here's a look at Nicole's beautiful work

And a warm welcome back as well to...

Hi, Susan Dupre here. I am a wife and a mom of a fabulous little boy who is my favorite scrapping subject. I have been scrapping now for about t hree years, and I absolutely love it!! I have been on several manufacturer teams, and I have been fortunate enough to have been published in various magazines as well. All, which makes me feel truly blessed. However, the most rewarding part of scrapping is the amazing people that I have met throughout my journey. I looking forward to my term with My Little Shoebox and calling my fellow design team members friends. Thanks MLS! It will be such an honor to design for such a fabulous company

Here's a look at Susan's work

We're thrilled to have both these talented ladies return for another term. Leave them some welcome back wishes!

Returning designers Rocio and Beckie

Hello MLS fans! We hope you had a great Easter weekend with your families. We are pleased to resume our introductions today with a warm welcome back to...

"Rocio is an engineer by day and crafter by night (or whenever there is free time, who needs sleep anyways?).  She lives in the beautiful San Francisco Bay Area.  She loves to travel and wants to visit all seven continents in her lifetime.  She has been scrappin' for about since 2004.  She loves to collect anything scrapbook related, has a room full of stuff to prove it.  Her favorite items to use in scrapbooking are ribbon, flowers and mini letters.  She also enjoys spending time with her family and fur babies."

Here's a look at Rocio's beautiful work

Hi There, my name is Beckie, originally from the South of England but after many years of travelling have settled in Scotland with my hubby and our two wee girls, who keep me on my toes daily.
As well as creating with fun products I love to take my camera and head out with the family into the hills or down the beach, these are great places to find the lost mojo that has decided to take a wee holiday!
My early memories of crafting were with my gran when I used to go and visit and she would show me all the things she had made. I love to scrapbook and make cards and can often be seen at the school gates glistening with glitter!
I have had work published in the UK and US magazines and also enjoying teaching the joy of scrapbooking!
Basically I am just a girl who has been let loose with paper and scissors, living life to the full and scrapping to preserve it!

Here's a look at Beckie's beautiful submissions

Introducing Pearl Liu

Happy Friday MLS fans! What are your weekend plans? Maybe a little scrapping? Today we are pleased to introduce...

My name is Pearl , living in Sunny Singapore .I’m a SAHM to 2 wonderful children. After the birth of my daughter in 1995, I started cardmaking via punchart and acquired the tools , punches and papers in the hopes that they would be useful for my kids at the right age. From 2006, onwards ,there was such a shift in products available in the papercraft industry and I started using more scrapbooking products in my cardmaking. Magazines and on-line galleries were full of inspiration, so by October 2006 I started scrapbooking again and have never looked back since.

As far as my creative process goes, my approach is either product driven or photo driven at the outset. I then choose the rest of the elements and put them together. I am a pretty fast scrapper and it’s rare for me to take things off once they are stuck down.
Here's a look at Pearl's beautiful submissions

We loved Pearl's work and are so excited to have her joining us! Have a fantastic weekend friends!

Meet today's special guest

Hello MLS fans! Let's give a big warm welcome to our special Guest Designer today, Linda Auclair

Hi!  I’m Linda Auclair from New Hampshire.  I’m a mom of 3, and currently work at the high school in town as a Library Aide.  I’m a lifelong crafter, and have been obsessed with papercrafting for the past decade.  I’ve designed for a number of retail websites, and currently design for A Million Little Things (dot com).  I have been a member of several Creative Teams for different manufacturers including Creative Imaginations, and have done freelance and guest design team work for other manufacturers like Echo Park, Momenta, Fiskars and October Afternoon.  I have been a Featured Artist at Echo Park, Pink Paislee and Websters Pages. I am currently a member of the Design Team for Epiphany Crafts.  I have been published in several magazines including Paper Crafts, Creating Keepsakes, Scrapbook Trends, and Scrapbooking and Beyond.  My most recently published project is a wall-hanging in the Northridge Press "Holiday" edition of Scrapbook Trends.  You can find me chatting and posting projects online on Facebook or here on my blog:

Linda created some beautiful projects with our latest collections but this one is special. Read on to find out why...

The Crane Campaign is something that has been near and dear to my heart since March, and I felt that I needed to scrap about it.

Crane close-up

Here is the journaling

Following the devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan on March 11th, I felt strongly that I needed to do something to help.  My friend Jo who lived and worked in Japan for many years, immediately started a fundraising project with the International Club and the Crane Campaign for relief efforts in Japan was born.  The Campaign has now spread to all three schools in the district, and to date we have raised almost $2000 – that is a lot of crane folding going on!  We have filled the windows at the library with cranes at the High School, and they are displaying them in the Middle and Elementary Schools as well.  I’ve lost track of how many people I have taught how to fold, and how many I have folded myself.  The fundraiser ends on the 21st and I am so thankful to the school staff and the community who have given so much to aid those in need half a world away.                 April 2011

Thanks so much!

Here are a few more projects from Linda

Introducing Norine Borys

Hello MLS fans! Today we are pleased to introduce...

MLS DT Norine photo

Hello, my name is Norine.  I'm a not-quite-50, mother of 4+ a daughter-in-law, married to Paul for 30 years, misplaced Canadian living in Arizona.

All my life I have loved photos. Even ones of people I don't know. And I've loved listening to the stories that each photo tells. But eventually the story-tellers are gone and (if we’re lucky) the photo albums remain and while it's fun to imagine the story behind each picture, it's much more satisfying to know the real story. That is what motivates me to put pictures and pen to paper.  Well, that and the patterned paper.  Oh, and the mists and rub-ons and ribbon and chipboard.  And the adhesives!  What other hobby could you find that requires so many types of adhesive!?  Isn't it great!?

Four kids, one endlessly supportive husband and many varied interests (cooking, reading, snowboarding, travel, photography, cottaging; but not cleaning, yard work or technology, no interest at all in those) provide me with more photos than I will ever get scrap booked, but in the meantime, I'm having a great time messing around with fun and artistic techniques and products. And when I need to sound more credible, I refer to myself as the "Guardian of my Family's History".

And I'm thrilled to have been chosen for My Little Shoebox's DT and am SO looking forward to what the next year here will bring!!

Here's a look at Norine's beautiful work!

Introducing Melinda Spinks

Hello MLS fans! We hope you had a great weekend! We're resuming our Design team introductions and are pleased to welcome...

Melinda Spinks - Mugshot Mono smaller

A little bit about me... I live on a farm in Victoria, Australia. First and foremost I am a farmer's wife and mother to two farm kids (one of each variety) who are my life!
My introduction into the world of papercrafting came about because I really lacked a hobby to fill the last few of hours of each day when all was still and quiet and I was the last one standing. One Scrapbooking Magazine later and I was intrigued, then hooked! The world of scrapbooking has now been part of my life for the past two years and I have managed to go from one nappy box of papers and product to an entire double wardrobe brimming with 'scrappy goodness'. My style is still a work in progress although I tend to lean towards a whimsical approach with lots of paper piecing, quilling, doodling and fussy cutting and I'm looking forward to working with the MLSB gorgeous collections of cuteness. Being part of this team is an excitement chapter in my scrappy life and I'm thrilled to be joining such a wonderful group of talented and inspirational women.

Here's a look at Melinda's stunning submissions.

Introducing Linda Kretz

Hello MLS fans. Today we continue to introduce our new design team and we are pleased to introduce...

Linda k

Hi!  My name is Linda Kretz, and I'm truly excited to be joining the MLS Design Team as a new member!  Crafts of all kinds have been an integral part of my entire adult life; the last 4+ years have awakened a strong passion in me for scrapbooking.  I am retired, so my time is now available to devote creative energy and time to enjoy many of life's pleasures, with scrapping at the top of the list!  My two children have presented me with 4 wonderful grandchildren who have enriched my life immeasurably - their young faces and excitement with almost everything around them provides terrific scrapbooking ideas!  I have used MLS collections for quite a while - their whimsical, fresh, colorful themes lend themselves to great layouts, projects and cards.  I love working with new techniques, experimenting with copic markers, making and using flowers, and working with varieties of color and paper textures.  I hope you will enjoy my work as much as I do creating it!

Here's a look at Linda's work

Love the city scene Linda created with our City by the Bay collection.

Hi!  I’m Kristine Berc.  I’m from the Chicago area but I’ve been living in central Wyoming for the past 4 years.  I have a graduate degree in school psychology and worked full-time in special education for many years.  I’m very blessed to have recently become a stay-at-home-mom working outside of my home only part-time.  I have an amazing baby girl and an equally amazing husband who is completely supportive of my scrapbooking addiction.  The two of them are my inspiration and my favorite subjects to scrap.  Scrapbooking is my creative outlet and is a large part of my everyday life.  One of the best parts about this hobby is all of the wonderful friends that I have been making along the way.  It is a dream come true for me to be a part of the My Little Shoebox design team and I’m absolutely thrilled to share my passion with you!

Introducing Ilene Tell

Hello MLS fans! We hope you all had a great weekend. It's been so fun sharing each of our new designers work and bios here on our blog. We are kicking off another week of more submission inspiration from these talented ladies.

Today we are pleased to introduce...

Hi everyone, my name is Ilene Tell and I absolutely love My Little Shoebox, so imagine my suprise and delight when I was asked to be on the team! I can think of nothing better than immersing myself in all the fun, bright, and adorable paper and it fits my style so well - I feel like it's a match made in heaven :) I started scrapbooking after the birth of my daughter more than 6 years ago. Over the past year, when I finally decided to try getting my work "out there", I have been lucky enough to be published in print magazines and ezines and to be on several manufacturer and retailer design teams, as well as a feature writer for Scrapstreet. I have my  daughter and two years ago my son came along, so there are always tons of cute pics to scrap, and I can do girlie layouts as well as funky and fun boy layouts. I would say my style is somewhat whimsical and artsy. I love to try new things, to distress and add layers, and lots of details, like hand stitching, and paint, and tons of embellishments. I must confess that I don't scrapbook just to preserve's my "me" time and I really couldn't imagine my life without it.

Ilene Tell

Here's a look at Ilene's beautiful work

We loved the layered flowers Ilene created.

The lace that was incorporated into this layout was stunning.

This altered project, 10 questions for Morgan was stunning.

These were beautiful projects and we look forward to many more from Ilene in the coming months!

Hi MLS fans! Thanks for all your comments on yesterday's post! We really appreciate your feedback and honesty. We want our blog to be a place you love coming to each day! So we're giving you til midnight pacific time on Thursday to leave a comment here to be entered to win our giveaway!

Today we are pleased to introduce...

Here's a little about Mandy

Hello there! My name is Mandy Starner, most call me MandyKay or just Mk. I live in Maryland with my wonderful and supportive husband, our 3 beautiful daughters, and our 2 crazy dogs. I love to spend as much time as possible making, baking, painting, learning, smiling, and laughing. I eat way too much chocolate and I never get enough sleep. I collect owls and typewriters. I love thunderstorms and Tootsie Pops. I am a little bit vintage and a little bit modern, a little bit country and a little bit rock-n-roll. I have been fortunate enough to have my work published in CARDS, Scrapbook Trends, Paper Crafts, and Page Maps2 by: Becky Fleck. I have been doing make-n-takes at my local scrapbook store, and my very first class is coming up.  And I'm so VERY excited to be a part of the My Little Shoebox team!

Here's a look an Mandy's beautiful work

We loved the scene Mandy created with the trees and those clouds...LOVE those clouds!

This layout is so fresh and clean.

Ohh she charmed us again with those clouds...we loved the creative use of the journaling tags

Introducing Shemaine Smith

We appreciate that you make our My Little Shoebox blog a part of your day. So today we introduce you to Shemaine Smith, our social media/marketing and design team member.

I am so excited to be a part of the My Little Shoebox team. I'm a work at home mom with two wonderful children and married to a great guy. I'm really passionate about  paper crafting.  I always share with my fellow mom friends that scrapbooking saved me from the baby blues. After 10 years of service in the financial industry I became a SAHM when my daughter was born in 2007. It was quite a shock to go from a full time job to being home with a newborn. I needed something to keep me busy so I started searching out challenge sites and would create my entries while my little one slept. I had no idea that there was an entire industry of scrapbookers out there until I was given a ticket to the Craft and Hobby Association Winter Trade show in 2009. Now I am happy to be the social media girl for MLS and designing for Helen. I have to say the best part of my journey so far has been the friendships I've made while designing alongside so many talented ladies.

Here's some of Shemaine's work

We look forward to more inspiration from Shemaine this year!

We'd love to hear what inspires you to keep coming back when you visit a manufacturers blog. Leave a comment telling us and we'll send out a mix of MLS goodies to one lucky winner to be announced Friday!

Have you finished up your sketch for the sketch challenge? We'd love for you to post it to our Facebook group here

Hi! My name is Pattie Beltran and I'm thrilled to be a part of My Little Shoebox. I love designing and teaching for My Little Shoebox and truly enjoy being DT Coordinator. I love working with My Little Shoebox! The colors are bright, the patterns are cheerful, and the embellishments are so cute and user friendly!
I am the wife of a wonderful man who encourages me in all things, and "enables" me in my hobby. I'm also the mom to two fantastic children who brighten my life. I've been crafting all of my life and scrapbooking for 12 years now. I love all things paper (I'm kind of addicted- anyone else out there like me? hee hee), and love bling, ribbon, lace, and flowers. I teach at my lss and love every minute of it!

And here is some of Pattie's work

We are excited that both Pattie and Erin are heading up our 2011 Team and to be sharing Pattie's work here on the MLS blog for another year!

We'll be back tmr with another introduction. Until then, have a very crafty day!

Featuring our new Design Team!

Hello MLS fans. Yesterday we were so excited to share our new 2011 My Little Shoebox Design Team! We are so excited to learn more about each of our new and returning designers that we're thrilled to be featuring them here on our blog all month long. We'll be showing each girls submissions as well as their bio and a link to their blog.

Let's kick of April 1st (no foolin) with our Design Team Coordinator

Erin Yamabe is a sahm, to 2 beautiful little girls, who are the subject of most of her work!  She is active in her daughter's schools and their church.  Outside of scrapbooking, she enjoys taking Zumba and Yoga classes, family road trips, and date nights with her hubby!  She started scrapbooking a few years after her oldest was born, and that was about 6 years ago!  The passion she has for this wonderful hobby has turned into many opportunities for which she is very grateful for!   As a DT Coordinator, Designer, and Instructor for My Little Shoebox, she finds her job to be alot of fun, at times challenging and very, very rewarding!  She believes 110% in miss Helen and My Little Shoebox, and invites you to fall in love with her papers, stamps, alphas and more!  Her work can be found in magazines, both in the U.S. and in Japan, on QVC UK, and on the Scrapbook Memories TV Show.

Here is Erin's beautiful work

Thanks for sharing your work with us today Erin. We look forward to seeing more designs from Erin in the coming months!
Enjoy your weekend and be sure to join us Monday as we feature our Design Team Coordinator, Pattie Beltran.
