Die Cutting Paper: Spring Loaded Double-Fold Pop-up Card

Hi! Karen Burniston here with another Pop-up 2Torial! This video shows two techniques you might try with pop-up cards. The first is to make a spring-loaded card that opens automatically as soon as the closure is released. The second technique is how to split and move the card folds to allow for two pop-ups inside the card! The card I make in the video is for my friend and Design Team

Die Cutting Paper: Tattered Leaves Autumn Garland

Summers in Mississippi can be brutal, so it's no wonder that fall is one of my favorite seasons. It's such a relief when that first good cold front comes through and I can finally enjoy being outside again. Thankfully, we're not so far south that we miss out on all the wonderful autumn colors! Our house is surrounded by oak, sweetgum, hickory, and other trees that are showing off their colors

Die Cutting Inspiration: I Spy Saturday 11/24

Hi! Jeanne here today with some adorable projects that I spotted! I didn't have far to hunt for some really cute animal projects made from Sizzix dies from Dena Designs . A couple of my friends and I did a "critter challenge" among us and Diane Zechman came up with some oh so fun dog cards. She used the 657687 Puppy Dog Sizzix Bigz die for these projects. Die Cutting Paper: Spread your Wings Canvas

Hello!  It's me Ronda here today to share with you a canvas using Texture Fades, Textured Impressions embossing folders, and Tim Holtz Layered Angel Wings.  This 5 x 7 board canvas was made using plaster spackling which creates a cool texture. My first layer on this canvas is the plaster spackling.  I use a metal palette knife as this thick paste will make plastic knives bend.  So you

Die Cutting Paper: Ho Ho Ho Christmas Embossing

Seems we've entered that season where where time just speeds by us until Christmas day arrives. I got to thinking that I wanted to create some holiday cards using one of my favorite embossing techniques and also thought that it would be the perfect technique to share on the blog today. This technique results in an awesome glossy effect that compliments the plain cardstock. The opposite textures

Die Cutting Paper: Framelit Woodland Christmas Trees

Hi everyone!! Oh I love, love, love this time of year!  Living in Florida, I don't get to experience the joys of the change of seasons, or the first snowfall or the dip in temperatures, but that doesn't mean that I can't experience snow topped Christmas trees....I just have to create them on my own.  When I saw the Framelits Christmas Trees from Sizzix, I simply "had" to have them!  I knew

Die Cutting Paper: On Angels' Wings Ornaments

I have such a fondness for peg dolls and clothespin dolls. I like their homespun charm for Christmas.  I wanted to keep the

Hello, Friends! I just got back from Seattle...I was at the Creating Keepsakes Convention teaching classes for Sizzix and The Stamps of Life.  I'll be honest, I think one of my favorite things in the world is teaching techniques about die cutting and stamping.  I love to see the 'light bulb moment' when someone tries a new technique or is introduced to the Big Shot for the first time.  :) The

Die Cutting Paper: Christmas Ornament

Hi friends! I have been racking my brain for some new ideas and creative ways to use our eclips designs. Of course, like I always say, “This is so easy”, but really it is! I bought a plastic

Fall Gift Card Box

This weekend we're going to a surprise birthday party for a friend. Jeannene just ran a marathon (!) so I decided to give her a gift card to a local running store. The only thing about gift cards is they are somewhat impersonal, so I like to make fun holders for them. I found some really pretty autumn paper by BoBunny that I decided to use for this project. Here's my tip for the quickest way to

Q&A: Which Die Cutting Supplies Do I Need?

One of the questions I answer the most frequently through Facebook is "Will that die work in my machine?"  With Sizzix having so many different types of dies and embossing folders and plates as well as several different machines with different types of cutting pads, it is easy to understand how there can be confusion over whether your machine will work with the new die you have your eye on!
