Canvas Frame

Hi everyone! Anna-Karin here with my first tutorial on the Sizzix blog. So happy to be posting this! For my tutorial, I decided to use this fun Mailable Frame Scoreboards XL die. It has so many possibilities and is great for creating little gifts. If you don’t make it too dimensional it will fit right into an ordinary envelope. You can put anything you want inside the frame: a photo, a stamped

Sewing Edge Needlebook

Hi, I'm Amy and this is my first post on the Sizzix blog. Most of my projects will probably be fabric based or somehow related to sewing! Today I am going to show you how you can use the Tim Holtz Alterations Sewing Edge die to make a needlebook with quilted cover and a felt page for needle storage. I sewed two versions to show what different looks can be achieved depending on your fabric

Pop-Up Tag!

Ever since I received the Scallop Pop-Up die by Karen Burniston, I've been more than a little obsessed with it. I have loved interactive cards since I was a kid, there is just something fascinating about them! When I was tidying up my work table recently, I spotted a tag and the wheels started turning... Why not make a pop-up tag?! By combining the pop-up die with Tim Holtz' Tag and

What a Class!

Hello, Friends! This last weekend I taught two classes in Irvine, CA.  What a blast!  Of course the class involved some of my favorite things...die cuts and stamping!  {The only thing missing?  My eclips!}  ;) Here's one of the cards we created in the class... It might be hard to see in the photos, but the green cardstock is embossed with butterflies using one of my embossing folders.

Recycled Cardboard Boxes

Last week I received some interesting little cardboard boxes with some fabric marking pens and alcohol inks I ordered. Although not sturdy enough to use to ship small gifts and objects through the mail, I immediately noticed that they would be perfect for presenting small gifts such as gift cards, small teacher appreciation gifts, even a bracelet created from die cuts I plan to present

Enjoy Each Moment Tag: De-bossed Embossing

Recently I was following along with Tim Holtz's online class Creative Chemistry.  He was sharing how to stamp on embossing folders to create a de-bossed stamped image.  I started wondering how it would look if I used the same idea to combine embossing ink with an embossing folder.  I felt like the effect would be most noticeable if I used a folder with larger open areas in the design, so I

I collect art journals and sketch books like I collect scarves.  I really don't need another one but I would it be just so perfect on my shelf.  This particular one has a beautiful watercolor pages on the interior that I just love but the outside is just kind of, well, plain.  They say you can't judge a book by it's cover, that it's what is on the inside that counts.  While I totally agree
