Die Cutting Paper: A Beautiful Bird Ornament

Quite simply, I have been having a ball with my Sizzix BigShot Pro. I was a little intimidated by it at first but soon I decided that it was just a really big die cut machine that has the capacity to cut some really cool materials. I love the mat board that Sizzix makes, it is lightweight yet sturdy and paints up very nicely. When I ran out last week, I decided to try and cut foam core board

Die Cutting Paper: Happy Halloween Wall Pocket

Hi everyone!  Halloween is by far one of my most favorite holidays to create for.  I think I could create Halloween goodness all year round and never get tired from it.  The fact that Halloween is right around the corner makes it that more special. When I saw the "Hanging Bag" Big Pro Die, I wanted it on the spot and I wanted to give it a Halloween "makeover".  I hope you enjoy what I

Die Cutting Fabric: Fanciful Flight Table Runner

I was inspired to make a "Fanciful Flight" table runner by not only the Tim Holtz Fanciful Flight die but by the masses of butterflies that have been appearing in my garden in recent days. Just the other day we counted over a dozen butterflies on my ornamental oregano. I wanted the striking design of the butterflies to take center stage so I created a low volume patchwork background.

Die Cutting Paper: Turn the World Around

Don't you love it when a plan comes together? I recently got my first Flip-its die. I chose the circle because it seemed so versatile. Then I remembered that I had a quote stamp so perfect that it almost seemed made for

Die Cutting Paper: Just Saying Hello Card Tutorial

Hey everyone! Gretchen here bringing you another fun tutorial. Today I’m using a Scallop Rectangle Framelit, the Pop `n Cut insert "Hello” and several other awesome Sizzix dies. I wanted to create a horizontal card so I cut my paper, folded it in half to make my card base, and when it was time to cut the PNC insert in, I just made it a bit shorter. I chose not to use the PNC base

Die Cutting Paper: Pen Holder

Die Cutting Paper: Flip-its and Flowers... Oh My!

I love how easy it is to put a card together when die cutting paper with Flip-its dies. One of my favorite things to do is use a two sided paper. It always looks like you've spent hours piecing all the layers together when in fact it's only a few minutes. This was a 15 minute project even with the fancy flower on the front! Here is the inside of my card: Begin by die cutting a piece of

A while back, I was lucky enough to find a box of 500 manila tags for $5 in an Xpedx paper store. They came with wires attached. I don't really use them so I just trimmed them off. Out came the inks
