Isn’t this project just darling? Cute coloring, perfect detail cutting, and sweet details like twine suspending the swing, and the love-embossed cardstock caught our eye immediately! Find Melissa’s blog post with more information here.

‘Twas the night before Christmas . . .
One of the classic Christmas stories – and the first thing that came to mind upon seeing this card by Rhea over at Penny Circle was, “The children were nestled all snug in their beds while visions of sugarplums danced in their heads. “ LOVELY!
May you all have a wonderful holiday season – we will be back on Wednesday!

It’s easy to express your gratitude with stamping and paper crafting, and this week, the Penny Black teamhas shared several little notes of thanks that are perfect to make and keep on hand, not just for this time of year, but for birthdays and all the little in-between things, too.
Karen Dunbrook created two distinctly different thank you cards – one cute and sweet, one simple and elegant. The colors on both are equally vivid!
Stamps and supplies: Joy to the World; …..wishes/ Copic markers/ pop dots
Karen says, “I stamped the image onto the cardstock front then stamped again, coloured and cut out so I could pop dot to add depth”
Stamps and supplies: Christmas Pride; Enjoy/ distress inks/ water brush/ pop dots
Karen created a mask for this card by stamping the flower onto a piece of paper and cutting it out so after stamping the main focal flower, she could mask it and stamp the other two on the corners. She used my distress inks and a water pen to colour the poinsettias. Then when it was dry, she added some shading with Prisma Pencils, and added the black line to pull it all together.

Here’s another set of cards from Stephanie Wincott – these are just a card base and a layer that’s simply stamped, then popped up on dimensional adhesive. The little pearl centers of the flowers add just the right touch. Wouldn’t they make a great teacher gift, all tied up in a bow?
Stamps: Salutations

These cards from Stephanie Wincott are ideal for using those patterned paper strips that we all have piled up on our desks. A cardstock base, a few strips of patterned paper, a flag stamped with a sentiment, and boom! you’re done!
Stamps: Gratitude, Salutations (or any other set with tiny flowers!) Paper: Madison

Today, we have two adorable cards from designer Cathy Andronicou – One cute, one fancy . . . both striking!
Stamps: Chill Day 4284K, Salutations 30-014 and Storm 01-001
Cathy says, “I inked the Chill Day stamp using a Memento Black Marker pen, so that I could leave the clothes without ink I then stamped onto white card, embossed with Spellbinders rectangles, Lined up clear sentiment with pegs and coloured image with Copics. A touch of diamond dust glitter was added to the snow and fur for added effect.”
Stamps: Winter Berries 4273K, Diamond Pattern 40-169, Big Thanks 00107D, Summer Sun 17-002
And a little more from Cathy: “A piece of white cardstock was inked with Tim Holtz Seedless Preserves using the direct to paper technique, once dry the diamond pattern was embossed using Purple WOW glitter embossing powder. The tree was then stamped onto a separate piece of card, cut out using a spellbinders circle die and the edges inked with Wild Honey and Seedless Preserves ink. I then went mad adding lots of dots of liquid pearls and stickles. The sentiment was stamped onto card and cut using a spellbinders die, the base part was embossed and inked to bring out the pattern and ribbon added to hide the join in the two colours of card.”

Thank and you – two little words that mean so much. It’s easy to express your gratitude with stamping and paper crafting, and this week, the Penny Black team is sharing some little notes of thanks that are perfect to make and keep on hand, not just for this time of year, but for birthdays and all the little in-between things, too.
Isn’t this hedgie just adorable? I could see this precious tag added to a little bag of cookies, or even a small bouquet of flowers. Penny Black designer Cathy Fongjoyo created these using white cardstock. She stamped the hedgie image from Santa’s Hat, then colored it with Copics. The THANKS from Sentiments set was stamped repeatedly before she added ribbon and twine.

All this week, we are sharing MORE lovely work created with the new Valentine release from Penny Black. Here are a couple of simple and sweet cards from designer Heather. Love the way she embossed the hearts then applied ink in different ways to make the stamped image pop!
Heather embossed the Daisy Heart in clear embossing powder, then brayered two shades of Memento ink over the embossing before adding daisy centres with a marker.
See you tomorrow with more Valentine inspiration!

Alexandra’s Sunday Scrapbook #10 – Gesso and Gold
Hello! Have you noticed how gold dots have invaded the world of interior design?
Gold on white is especially popular this season and Alexandra thought we could play with that look to add extra dimension and festivity to our patterned paper.
She has a layout, a tag, two sketches which can be used for both scrapbookers and cardmakers, and an extra tip on how to use a ribbon stamp as washi tape! She used patterned paper: Poinsettia Script #70-047; stamp 3860J Pointillé and stamp “mesh” 3488H (part of the ribbons 2 set 20-009)
what do you say? you want to come and play?
