Cuteness with Colored Pencils

Cathy Andronicou is here today, sharing a cute card she created using colored pencil techniques. Cathy blended her pencil work with “Zest It” to soften and pull color around the face, added cross hatches to provide a linen effect on cloth, and sharp strokes to create a fur like effect.  Love the addition of the baker’s twine!

SUPPLIES: ‘Embroidered’ 4250K, ‘Blue Lagoon’ 09-003 Mix & Match Cardstock.

Guest Designer; Linda Lucas

Please welcome Linda Lucas to the Blog today!

New Zealand is my homeland but Australia is my home and I love them both. I am blessed to be a Stay at Home Mum who loves her three teenagers and husband ‘to the moon and back’, and enjoys creating an environment where they can all feel loved and live to their full potential. I come from a family of artists, four years ago I was introduced to stamping at a party. “I have escalated from ‘How Boring’, quickly bypassed ‘Addicted’ to ‘Obsessed’ at a fairly alarming rate…and not looking for a cure!” I make cards every day, love mini albums, scrapbooks when I can. I would describe my style as eclectic, vintage with a touch of shabby. I love to embellish with lace, pearls and ribbon.

I am honoured to have been a Senior Designer and Design Team Co-Ordinator for Layers of Color, working alongside the wonderful artist Laura Kirste Campbell and amazing illustrator Nina Brackett. I am currently a Spellblogger for the Spellbinders Paper Arts Blog, a member of the NinaB Designs Dream Team, Crafty Friends Challenge Design Team along with the Stampin’ Sister’s in Christ Challenge. I am thrilled to have been published multiple times online, in magazines, and in books. In my spare time I run Workshops and Card Design Classes and makes cards to sell in local boutiques. I love to combine my passion for paper with my faith, which is an integral part of who I am. I feel that my handmade projects are something not to be discarded but are treasures, created with love to be given to those you love. I hope you will be inspired in some way by what I create and share from the heart – fasten your seat belts and let the fun begin!

You can click on one of Linda’s photographs to be taken to her blog to see more. Thank you Linda, beautiful work!
