I am in LOVE with Love my Tapes!
Love my Tapes has washi tape, lace tapes, fabric tapes and more!  "Love my Tapes" has some of the coolest designs and styles, definitely something for everyone.
For my project I got to use this gorgeous blue washi tape, along with this very versatile  fabric tape

My first project is a  little picture holder made out of a vintage wooden spool and clothes pin.
Love My Tapes makes decorating these so quick and easy!
I did have to use my exacto knife to trim the edge of the clothes pin because my tape was wider then the clothes pin...easy enough!

I have also been working on a mini album with more of
Authentique's Original Collection,
here are a few pages...

I got to work with one of the beautiful two-tone lace tapes, and the subtle green in this one perfectly matches our "Peaceful" collection.

The self-adhesive is quite strong on these laces, allowing them to stick really well to Authentique's textured cardstock.

It's nice just as a border strip too.

Do you want to know a secret?
Authentique is debuting its newest collection - be sure to stop by on Friday to see the whole line.
But today you get a sneak peak!

I love how the Love My Tapes coordinated with our "Lovely" collection. And who doesn't love hot pink??

I created the flowers with a couple of different techniques. For all of the flowers, I covered one side of a square of paper with washi tape - sometimes I covered the whole paper, sometimes I left stripes of paper for added texture. For the daisies and other petal forms, I used the "Tattered Flowers" die from Sizzix. For the roses, I used my favorite cut and twirl technique. For added texture and shine, I spritz some of the flowers with Goosebumps Shimmer Texture Spray.

I used more washi tape to create the stems - twisting it around florist's wire, and wrapping leaves in as I went.

Authentique always creates fabulous sticker sheets to coordinate with the papers, and I used the trims to decorate the jar. Washi tape twisted around itself creates great twine.

I had a great time playing with tape - it's something I haven't tried before and it's a great product! So versatile and easy to work with. Be sure to visit the Love My Tape site to see what their design team is making with our papers.

Project Inspiration with Love My Tapes!

Authentique Paper and Love My Tapes are teaming up over the next couple of days to bring you tons of inspiration using Authentique Paper and Love My Tapes products!

For my project today, I paired the lovely Washi Tape #838 and the Striped Fabric Tape in red with the Festive Collection to make a pair of cute gift tags. I simply started with a tag that I cut with my Silhouette, then added some fun ribbon, Details stickers and Festive patterned papers until I felt that they were just right. To finish them off, I added little details like red seam binding and white pen faux stitching.
These little trees are super easy to make, and just take a little bit of practice to fold correctly.
To start, cut a circle of patterned paper in half. For this project, I used the fabric tape on one side. This way, the red striped tape contrasted against the dark green Believe paper.

Trim the extra tape from the half-circle.

Then fold three times so that it is in the shape of a tree. I don't have any really great tricks for this... Just practice with a spare piece of paper until you get it to work the way you want it to. Different sized circles work differently however.
Stick each fold down with some dimensional or liquid adhesive. Tape runners do not always stick on the fabric tape. Then just decorate the tag with the tree, and add ornaments if you wish!

I just love how these washi tape matched the "Original" collection so perfectly.
Using the washi tapes to make the centers for my flowers and also to make a layered flower
for my layout. Just fold your washi tape in less than a half , so you still have some sticky
tape on the bottom. Then roll it in.. squishing the tape together.. add some
fast drying Helmar glue to the bottoms and stick on your flower.
For the actual flower.. fold your washi tape over one another so it is not sticky
anymore.. then fold it in fours, cut petals out.. do the same for the inside of the flower
as mentioned above and glue it all together.

You will also notice I used some, scalloping the edges to layer
over my lace ribbon.. gives it a translucent look and adds some texture.
In this layout I used some Authentique/ Unity Stamps  for my background, {Key to my Heart}.

Cutting out the already diamond shape quilt pattern from the Original paper " compound" I randomly placed them on my layout using some foam adhesive. I just this paper so much. It is a great way add another paper element to your layouts.

I also used the washi tape to make a long banner going up my layout. Layering the tapes
over each other slightly.

Hope you give this a try, a great way to use your washi tapes and Authentique Papers.

For this challenge in make a combination of three collections from Authentique- Uncommon, Delightful and Peaceful. I had to be creative and get out some older collections because the tapes that I received were pink and black... and of course, I always like to combine a little bit.

I made the banners with the tape. They are very easy to just stick it on your paper! And I also made the rosettes with the tape!

1. just stick the tape on your paper
2. die cut the rosette
3. take a border punch and add to the outside of the rosette to form a border
4. fold the rosette, take quick dry glue and make the rosette

Pinspired Monday: Down in the pumpkin patch

Happy Monday everyone! It's time to get Pinspired.

My project today was inspired by my love of Halloween, and especially pumpkins!

And my Pinspiration was this wonderful paper pumpkin from whipperberry

So off I went to my paper stash and pulled out "Enchanted" and go to work.

I loved how simple this project really was. Wet paper strips, twist into sticks and let set. For the thinner strips I twisted the paper around florist's wire for more strength. The great thing is that Authentique's paper is nice and thick, so water is all that's needed to make it pliable and to "set". Other sites used ModgePodge for this project but I didn't need it!

Once all the paper twists were ready, I pulled out the hot glue gun and started attaching the twists to a stem. Round and round and some singed fingertips later and I was done! The curly stems are paper wrapped around florist wire, then twisted around a pen for better curl.

I hope you are inspired to create your own magic pumpkin this Halloween. And don't forget that pumpkins are great for Thanksgiving too, and "Thankfully" Authentique has the perfect paper for that too!

Dual Purpose Treat Holders

Today's post is a little trash into treasure treat holder/place card that could easily be adapted for both Halloween or Thanksgiving. In fact, I've created one of each to showcase both the Enchanted and Thankful lines.
For these, I went totally low-tech and only used scissors and a border punch for tools. For the Enchanted treat holder, I used half of a paper towel roll and a piece of brown paper bag. For the Thankful roll, I used a newspaper that was lying around and the other half of the paper towel roll.
I didn't want to be able to "read" the newspaper that covered the roll, so used a Imagine Crafts Ink in Espresso Truffle on the newsprint. Then, I punched it with a border punch.
I used Helmar 450 glue to attach the papers to the tube. Then tied off an end with twine. I used another glue bottle that was similar in size to the tube to tie off the paper, without squishing it.
Once it was all ready (treats are inside!!), it was ready to decorate with papers and stickers.
I love how the Enchanted line is just lovely for Halloween.
And this lovely little Thankful number is going to be great for treats, AND as a Thanksgiving place card for my little girl.
It's super easy to create some interest layering the Details and Elements stickers with the patterned cardstock. I also sanded the edges to make them a little more rustic.
Tie off the ends with twine and your treat holders/place cards are done.

I hope that this post inspires you to make a few things using items that you probably have lying around the house. Happy Earth Friendly Friday!

Guest Designer: Deena Ziegler

We are very excited to feature Deena Ziegler as our guest designer today! We fell in love with some of her creations that she has posted on our Facebook page and couldn't wait to feature her on our blog! We think you all are going to love her too!
I'm so excited to be a guest designer for Authentique. I've been teaching card making for over 10 years and have taught at several events around the country and every month here in my home town. I run a small kit business where I take all my favorite paper finds and put them together with my project ideas to make getting creative easy for all my customers. I've been in love with Authentiques papers from the 1st launch. When I saw the Enchanted Collection I knew it would be perfect for my Halloween Decor Kits and I was particularly drawn to the 6x6 pads. These pads are perfect for making cards and small projects because of the reduced pattern size. Enchanted perfectly suited my Halloween taste in every way, clean colors with the most subtle distressing, lots of pattern within pattern, and an awesome texture... well done Authentique! On the owl card I even used the front cover of the the pad as the background and with the witch card and spook tree card I edged them with a burning technique.I hope you enjoyed my projects as much as I enjoyed creating them.

Be sure to stop by Deena's personal blog and say hello, and please let her know we sent you!
Also, check out our "We Spy..." board on Pinterest! If we spy fabulous projects using Authentique products, we might just feature you in a future blog post!

Pinspired Monday: Even leaves fall for you.....

Welcome to Pinspired Monday today on the blog!
Today it's my turn to show you what I've been inspired by on Pinterest!

I used three pins, first this little one...
I saw it and fell in love with the idea of using wood so I pinned it here

The second pin is this quote, I saw it and knew directly what photo I wanted to used.

Last, this photo. I love the colors! I thought about the great collection, Thankful, and I loved the vertical lines in this photo.

At first I had to find some wood. I went to the garden center and was lucky that they had it there!  I don't like little bugs and it has to be very dry to work with paper.

This is the lay-out I created.
I incorporated the colors, the wood, the vertical lines and the quote from the Pinterest pins.

The detail stickers of this collection are great to embellish the lay-out with, I don't think you can ever have enough of these!

And the evidence... it's real wood!

I hope that I have inspired you this week!

Thankful Home Decor with Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L!

Authentique Paper and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L are teaming up over the next couple of days to bring you tons of inspiration using Authentique Paper and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L products!

Today is our last day with Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, but don't worry, you will see us using their products in future posts for sure! Did you all enjoy this past week?

I toyed with ideas of what to make this week, and decided since October is nearing an end, I wanted to get a jump start on some decor pieces for Thanksgiving! I also wanted an excuse to play with "Thankful" because it's simply stunning!

I made these little dimensional pumpkins. I figured they were great for fall all around and not just for Thanksgiving.

You can even make your own! These are so simple to make and so adorable to have on display!
I cut 9 -3.5 inch circles in each patterned paper that I was using. You can make them larger or smaller, it's up to you.

I cut the bottoms off of mine so they would stand up. After that, I inked them with some of my favorite Memento ink (Potters Clay works great with Thankful FYI)...

Next, you will fold each circle in half and glue them back to back until you get a complete sphere.

I punches a little scallop circle and attached it with some 3L dodz. Then I added some curling ribbon and 3D foam squares to pop up the other top a little. I got the stem from the Thankful details stickers. It's just one of the patterned strips on the side cut and folded in half.

I alse added a couple of the little words from the details stickers to look like a little tag.

There you have it! Perfect little Fall themed decor pieces that you can make yourself!

Products Used:
Authentique- Thankful: Grateful, Cultivate, Giving 12x12 patterned paper; Details 12x12 stickers
Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L: Dodz Medium, Thin 3D Foam Squares

Guest Designer- Tina Walker

We are thrilled to feature Tina Walker today as a Guest Designer! Some of you might know her, yeah? She's very talented and we have fallen in love with her style!
Tina got the chance to play with our "Curiosity" collection. We will let her tell you why she chose this collection! Take it away Tina!

I first saw the Curiosity collection at Summer CHA and it was an immediate favorite.  I was initially drawn in by the fresh and unique color palette (love the bluish-grays and muted yellows), but then fell in love with the youthful yet timeless design.  Even though Curiosity has a childhood school-age  theme, the patterns and designs are subtle enough to be used in a variety of projects.   It is perfect for heritage and vintage projects, yet fresh and new for layouts featuring your own children. Curiosity is definitely a collection that will remain a favorite of mine for years to come.

Are you ready to see some of Tina's projects with Curiosity? Prepare to be amazed!

Be sure to stop by Tina's personal blog and say hello, and please let her know we sent you!

Also, check out our "We Spy..." board on Pinterest! If we spy fabulous projects using Authentique products, we might just feature you in a future blog post!

Vintage Bingo Card with Enchanted & Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L!

Authentique Paper and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L are teaming up over the next couple of days to bring you tons of inspiration using Authentique Paper and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L products!

If you've been paper crafting for awhile, I'm pretty sure you've heard of 3L adhesives.  They are a very generous company and their product REALLY WORKS! I love love love the EZ runner, it is definitely named right.  Works like a charm, and sticks!  The pop dots are always a favorite, I use them on almost everything I make.  I was just introduced to the DODZ 3D and I am in love!  they are a glue dot and a foam dot in one! and they REALLY hold!  Love them!

For my project today I altered a vintage Bingo card into a Halloween themed decoration.  (I used all of the above mentioned adhesives on my project today)

noticed the clothes pin?  just cut a piece of patterned paper and adhere to pin with the EZ runner,  added the sticker with some pop dots.  I also made the little playing cards dimensional with the pop dots.

I don't know if you can see it from here, but notice those polka dots...what do you think they are!?
Here's a closer look
Yep, they are DodZ and glitter!
just sprinkle glitter onto the glue dot, press a bit to really get it in there, and tada!
 Perfect, easy glittery polka dots!

"Be Original" with Authentique & Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L!

Authentique Paper and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L are teaming up over the next couple of days to bring you tons of inspiration using Authentique Paper and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L products!

Guiseppa here and I have some cards I made using the new Original Collection and some of 3L's Adhesives.      First off, I want to say that 3L makes quality adhesives.  I have been scrapbooking for a long time and I am so pleased with the way 3L works on and holds my projects together.

I got crafty using the Original Collection , which is so fabulous!  The blues in this collection are gorgeous and I can see myself creating many more projects with this.  So, let's get on with it and let me share with you my cards and how I used 3L's adhesives.

I made some flowers to go on my cards and the Dodz Adhesive Dots were perfect to keep the different layers of my flowers together.

I also added a cute pocket to my card from the Original Collection, but I wanted it to have pop and dimension because I planned on adding flower stems coming out of the pocket, well...you will see!

I used 3L's Crafty Foam Tape to pop this pocket up.

For the Stems of my flowers, I used the Thin 3D Foam Squares because I wanted dimension for those as well and I wanted them to not be raised as much as the pocket.

Next up..the lace for my card and the Crafty Power Tape was perfect for this.  I have been using this stuff for a long time and it is wonderful for trims!

Now for a look and the magic that came together using Authentique and 3L!

I know these cards are well put together, thanks to 3L.  I also used some fabulous ink from Imagine Crafts! Thanks for stopping by and I am glad I could share my cards with you today!

Shellye McDaniel

I don't mean to gush, but
I LOVE 3L Scrapbook Adhesives.
I use them on literally every single project that I create.
Whether it be 3D Foam Squares, Dodz or adhesive tape
I use it all and with the confidence that it will stay put :)
For today's project, I've combined all three of the above
products and the very lovely Thankful by Authentique.

A Thankful Personalized Place-Setting
First, I cut a piece of "Harvest" paper to 6x6 and then
rolled into a cone shape; glue.  For the leaves, I cut two
different sizes for each one using "Cultivate" paper and
Cricut's A Child's Year.
I then layered the two together with both the thin
and thick 3-D Foam Squares.
I love layering different shapes onto one another.
As you can see above,I punched a label shape from
"Remember" paper, distressed around the
edges and then layered on top of the leaves.
Because the center of the label needed a little 'extra'
height, I doubled-up on two of the thick foam squares:
Next, I applied the beautiful cardstock sticker from the
"Thankful" Details 12x12 Sticker Sheet.  On both sides
I attached two buttons using 3L's Dodz (love).
A punched tag from (my very favorite!) "Pioneer" paper was
embellished with "Thankful" Elements 12x8 Stickers to
spell out :M-O-M.
I used thin foam squares to attach each sticker letter to
the tag. In finishing, I tied it onto the cone with a bit
of jute.

One other little thing to share.  In prepping for my
place-setting, I cut a few extra leaves in practice.
 I gathered them together
and embellished a simple candle and candlestick
If you'll notice, the leaves have slits cut into them.
This is where I added the thicker foam squares...it helps
to give it even more dimension!  In the other places I
simply used the thin foam squares.
A simple circle punched from craft paper is topped
with the elegant "Thankful" Elements 12x8 Sticker.
Thankful + 3L= Beautiful Thanksgiving projects!
Enjoy!

Products Used:
Thankful"harvest" 12x12 paper; "cultivate" 12x12 paper; "remember" 12x12 paper; "pioneer" 12x12 paper; "details" 12x12 sticker; "elements" 12x8 sticker

I used the 3D foamsquares and the photo corners

I made this card for a friend. He's turning 40 and the original collection is so great to make cards for men!

Because I used 3D foam squares, you can see have depth in the pocket and can you do a label on it.

It's fun to use the photocorners other than only on  your photos.

And some pictures to show all the detail stickers that I used fom Authentique. I glued them with foam squares

Products Used:
Authentique: detail stickers, element stickers, patterned paper Original Collection
3L:Photo corners, 3d foamsquares

Pinspired Monday: Fall Decor and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Authentique Paper and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L are teaming up over the next couple of days to bring you tons of inspiration using Authentique Paper and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L products!

I love Fall. Love it. Especially when the air turns crisp, the grass starts to frost in the morning, and you can smell the fireplaces when you walk outside. I especially love all of the falling leaves, and wanted to include those in this week's project.
In keeping with the Authentique Blog's Pinspired Monday, I chose to create a Fall decor piece based on things I found on Pinterest. Here is my version:
I used this pin as my inspiration. I loved the leaves, the Fall lettering and the natural fibers that were used.
Rather than create an extra large rosette, I grabbed my Silhouette and started cutting away. I layered scalloped circles with the fantastic Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L. I just love how the dimensional adhesive makes each of the layers pop!
I used strips of 3L's Crafty Foam Tape in black, 3D Foam Squares Variety Pack in black, and Dodz 3D for the scalloped circles. The Dodz were great for sticking the twine into, as they also stuck to the upper layer.
I layered the Fall saying, and used the 3D Foam Squares Variety Pack in black to give it more dimension.
I also placed a cute crocheted flower that my friend Cathryn made for me. The colors worked perfectly with the Thankful papers.
I really loved the little acorns on the Harvest paper, and decided to also make more three-dimensional acorns to add to the multitude of leaves.
I created the acorns with another Silhouette cut. After cutting the seed section of the acorn, I cut two caps per acorn. This way, I could glue one directly to the seed, then add the 3D Foam Squares to the second cap. Once that was applied to the seed, it adds to the dimension of the project. The black Foam Squares are great, as they don't contrast against darker toned paper.
For this project, I glued two acorns back to back with the twine in the center. I love how they pop against the various leaves.
To finalize this, I just added some May Arts crinkle ribbon, and my Fall decor is complete! I hope that this inspires you to create your own Fall decor using Thankful.

Countdown to Christmas

Friday Greetings!
Shellye with you today on this
EARTH FRIENDLY FRIDAY
My husband gets tons of 'stuff' in the mail
pertaining to his job: samples, displays, packaging, etc.
And because his 'office' is his vehicle, he doesn't have
the room to haul around each and every thing that he's
been sent.  Take this acrylic display for example...it
was set to go in the trash and I quickly grabbed it up!
Because you can find these frames just about anywhere,
I thought it would be a great
Earth Friendly Friday project :)

Are you ready to
COUNTDOWN TO CHRISTMAS?
Gather up the papers & stickers from the
Festive Collection
and let's get started!
You will also need an 8.5 X 11 acrylic frame
and dry-erase marker
I also used: sewing machine, Rolled Daisy Die and
Dainty Doily Die by mftstamps.com, flat-backed adhesive
pearls, Lollipop Font Die by Lifestyle Crafts, Cursif Font
svg cut, buttons and hand-cut banner and holly leaves.

I traced the banner from a negative space in a die-cut sheet.
Layer the round sticker onto your doily with foam dots.
I love the look of the two different stitches on the papers.
If you don't have a sewing machine handy, you could add a
pretty trim around the edges or hand-stitches.
Ahhh, Authentique Papers were made for dies!
Not all paper cuts and rolls as beautifully.  These little
blooms went together so quickly.  I inserted a small foam dot
into the center of each flower and then attached the pearl to it.
Although I hand-cut the holly leaves, you could use a punch,
die-cut or leaf embellishments.

And for the pièce de résistance:
use a dry-erase marker to creatively countdown each
day until Christmas day.  Have fun coming up with different
scripts and fonts...make each day's countdown unique :)

Authentique Paper Supplies:
Festive: Jolly, Merry and Believe Patterned papers; Details 12x12 Stickers

Thanks so much for visiting us today!  Hope you've enjoyed!

Pinspired Monday- Expanding Folder Mini Book

I just love Pinterest.  I find myself on there everyday...ok, several times a day.  I just don't want to miss out on anything.  Guiseppa here, to show you a this awesome Expanding Folder Mini Book.  I got my inspiration from this Pin:

(Click Picture to find Tutorial)

Shelia from Two Crafting Sisters has a little tutorial on the Crafty Life and Style Blog showing how exactly to make this....and it is super easy!  You wanna see mine?  I really love how it turned out.  I used the new Peaceful Collection and Dew Drop Inks from Imagine Crafts.

I love the accordion file inside.  I got these cute library cards off my Silhouette using the print and cut feature...perfect for this album.

I think this would be really fun to dress up the library cards with pictures and a few embellishments...keeping it simple.  Give this as a gift for someone else to dress up or use it for yourself.  Thanks for stopping by...hope I Pinspired you today!
