IMAGINE the possibilities with "Peaceful"

Merry Christmas Eve Authentique fans! We have a very special guest with us today! If you are still putting the finishing touches on your handmade gifts.... or just starting to make them, make sure you read through this post! Our friend John Peterson from Imagine Crafts shows how he made an awesome explosion box that folds out into an accordion mini album! Now we have seen a few of these on the web, but nothing like this! *Hint Hint* These make great gifts! Check it out!

I've always been a blue and silver person (think snowflakes) for the Holidays, but the first time that I saw the Peaceful Collection at the Summer CHA Show I knew that I might be changing my palette for the Holidays this year! I thought that the mix of different shades of green, along with using gray instead of the typical red, just called out for a little bit of gold and sparkle!

This is the box cover (top left) that was sprayed with IMAGINE Crafts' Fireworks! craft sprain Bamboo Leaves and Pear Tart to give it a little sparkle and shine.

INSIDE:
Accordion Book (open): sprayed with Fireworks! in Pear Tart and Bamboo leaves, then stamped with Tsukineko Delicata Golden Glitz ink with a variety of snowflake stamps.
Top Page: Inner most layer was over stamped with a snowflake stamp in Tsukineko VersaMagic Niagara Mist. Second layer was stamped with a variety of different snowflake stamps using VersaMagic in Aloe Vera, Niagara Mist and Delicata Golden Glitz.
Right Page: Memory Box Holiday Stamp set stamped with VersaMagic Niagara Mist and Delicata Golden Glitz.
Bottom: IMAGINE Crafts' SHEET Metal (ATC size) colored and stamped with Tsukineko StazOn inks using GlazOn layer protectant between each layer to keep each color separated. Base colors of StazOn Olive and Eden Greens with a touch of Dove Gray. Snowflakes were stamped with StazOn Stone Gray. Text stamped with StazOn Metallic Gold.

LID: Authentique "Freeze" paper is on the top of the box oversprayed with Fireworks! craft sprays in Pear Tart and Bamboo Leaves. Snowflakes are stamped with VersaMagic Cloud White and Niagara Mist along the sides.

BASE: Authentique's "Chill" paper has snowflakes overstamped using IMAGINE Craft's GooseBumps texture spray to create a resist effect. Memento Pistachio and Olive Green are then applied directly to the paper, with the excess wiped off with a paper towel misted with IMAGINE Crafts' Ink Potion No. 9 blending solution to reveal the resist snowflakes and the beautiful print from the "Chill" paper below.

We would like to thank John for sharing this project today! Make sure you stop by and say hello to him as well as our other friends at Imagine Crafts by visiting their Facebook Page! Tell them Authentique Paper sent you!

Also we would like to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas! Be sure to check back later on this week... we might just have another surprise to share before we ring in 2013!

A "Lovely" Clear Scraps Mini Album

Authentique Paper and Clear Scraps are teaming up over the next couple of days to bring you tons of inspiration using Authentique Paper and Clear Scraps products!

After you check out the projects here on the Authentique Paper blog, be sure to head on over to the Clear Scraps blog to find out what the talented members of their Design Team  have in store for you today!

Hello Authentique fans, Heather here with a cute mini album. I often create mini albums for gifts. This one will be heading to it's new home shortly. I've been wanting to use my beautiful Lovely papers for quite awhile, and when I saw Dress Form Embellishments from Clear Scraps, I knew that this would be a great chance to use some wonderfully girly papers.

Rather than use the Lovely papers for Valentine's related items, I focused on their soft colors and patterns. I will later put pictures of my two girls inside before I send it off. I started with the Clear Scraps Showy Mixables Album. I used Tim Holtz's Adirondack Alcohol Ink in Red Pepper, both on the album pages, and on the dress form. I had never used alcohol inks before, so just found a couple of tutorials on YouTube, and used a lot of trial and error. My paper choices for the cover include the Valentine paper (12x12) and Crush (6x6). I also used a mix of elements from the Details sticker sheet and the Paper Crafting Assortment. The "dress" is a bit of May Arts Net ribbon, and a Petaloo Darjeeling flower, with a Maya Road Heart Trinket Pin.
The pages alternate between chipboard and acrylic sheets. For the chipboard pages, I used 12x12 (Fancy) sheets to cover the chipboard, and then alternated various photo mats from the 6x6 sheets in both the fabulous solids, and smaller patterns. To finish the pages, I inked the edges of most everything with a Imagine Crafts Memento ink pad in Love Letter. Then I added a doily and another Details sticker.
This was a super fun acrylic sheet to make. I tried for a polka dot effect. Then layered Keynote paper with an element from the Paper Crafting Assortment (PCA), May Arts ribbon, and some of the stickers that were included in the PCA.
This chipboard sheet was covered in Adore paper, a couple of the 6x6 pages and some of the Details stickers and PCA elements. Some May Arts Seam Binding will enhance the photos used later.
The last page is covered in Crush. I just love the cute polka dots on this page! Two squares of Amour 6x6, a little bit of one of the backs of the 12x12 sheets in tan that I used a border punch on, and quite a few of the elements from the PCA adorn this page.
To finish the Clear Scraps Showy Mixables Album, I used a random assortment of May Arts ribbons in reds and pinks to create some interest on the jump rings.

As you can see,  I used a predominately Valentine's line in a non-Valentine's way. I am excited for the recipient of this mini album to display it year round.

A Clear Winter Card

For my project, I started with the Clear Scraps "Send It Clear" card and Authentique's new "Seasons Winter" collection.

The card opens out in a gate-fold, to reveal the sentiment inside.  I dry-embossed the flaps of the card, and added some shimmer with Glimmer Glam.

The flaps 'close' with an additional acrylic shape (also embossed and 'glammed') and one of the small sentiment stickers from this collection:

Here's a close-up of the embossed acrylic.

Some "Peaceful" projects for a cold Winter day!

Authentique Paper and Clear Scraps are teaming up over the next couple of days to bring you tons of inspiration using Authentique Paper and Clear Scraps products!

For my project today I used the Clear Scraps Regular Send it Clear card.
These cards are a perfect thickness for making cards you can send in the mail.
I used Authentique's Peaceful Collection.
I adore this collection, it is so perfect for all kinds of winter projects and gifts.

Because I wanted the clearness of the card to show, I trimmed
my papers slightly shorter than the actual card base.

Here's a closer look at the inking, stamping and glitter I added to the clear edges.
I think it really adds to the winter feel of this card.

another close up of the inking and glittering.
the Clear Scraps Send it Clear card comes with a clear envelope
so it's ready to address and send on it's way.

I live where there is no snow. Ever. So of course I'm fascinated by snow, ice, and icicles. When it came time to create something for Clear Scraps, my first thought was to really take advantage of the clear acrylic. After all, it's that snow-time of year!
I wanted to create the feeling of frosty window panes.
The Clear Scraps 6x6 album became the perfect panes.
I used Picket Fence Distress Stain, and Chunky Embossing Powder to create the snow effects around the edges. And yes! I used a heat gun to set the powder. By working carefully and always keeping the heat gun moving, I heated the powder from beneath first and then heated from above.
The letters are chipboard covered with "Peaceful" and sanded around the edges. Each letter is glued to a different pane, for added depth.
The tiny tree from Tim Holtz was coated with 450 Quick Dry Adhesive and then dipped in Diamond Dust for some winter magic. The base is covered a bit of tinsel twine.
I had a great time creating this little project and hope you're inspired to try something like it yourself. Think about acrylic Christmas cards - it's not too late!

"Lovely" Clear Cards

Authentique Paper and Clear Scraps are teaming up over the next couple of days to bring you tons of inspiration using Authentique Paper and Clear Scraps products!

I was so excited to try my hand with my very first project from Clear Scraps!  I decided on the "Send it Clear Heart" Card and paired it up with Authentique's "Lovely" Collection
I first started by tracing and trimming the card shape onto
 the patterned paperand trimming out.
I decided to machine stitch this to the
actual acrylic card, but Glue Dots can be used as well.

Next, I traced and cut the shape of the red heart, which are
the actual insertion parts of the card.  I used one of the punch-out
pieces from the "Lovely" paper-crafting kit to act as a focal point.

To the inside of the card I simply used two stickers from the
"Lovely" Details Sticker Sheet.  You can stamp on the acrylic
sheets with a Staz-On ink or use a permanent marker.

Here is a look at how the bottom portion of the card looks.
You can see that I also used a pretty lace (by May Arts) and
topped it with a bit of the sticker border from the
"Lovely" Details Sticker Sheet.
Just add a bit of fabric glue to the back of your sticker
before applying to any type of fabric or ribbon.

And a peek at the top portion of the card.
After distressing the sticker with a bit of walnut ink,
I attached it to the acrylic card with foam dots.  A small
piece of one of the sticker frames was added to the top.

The card kit contains four round seals for attaching the
front pagesto the back page with, as well as
 a cute clear envelope!

Supplies:
Authentique Paper- Lovely: Paper-Crafting Assortment; Details 12x12
Sticker Sheet; Elements 12x8 Sticker Sheet

I have to admit...I have never worked with anything that Clear Scraps.  I know...what was I thinking?  I think I was intimidated by the "clear" thing.  Now, I am so glad I did because I have more of their product in my stash and I love how my project turned out.  My project was originally suppose to be a card, but it turned into something else.

Well...it's kind of a picture holder thingy...lol.  I guess it can be used as a card :)

So, to dress up this blank card, I added some paint around the edges of the acrylic card and inked my patterned paper.  I simply glued the pieces of paper where I wanted them.  It was easier than I thought and not so intimidating.

A "Delightful" Baby Banner

Authentique Paper and Clear Scraps are teaming up over the next couple of days to bring you tons of inspiration using Authentique Paper and Clear Scraps products!

After you check out the projects here on the Authentique Paper blog, be sure to head on over to the Clear Scraps blog to find out what the talented members of their Design Team  have in store for you today!

********************

With just a few days left before Christmas, I decided to make a baby banner. This is the perfect gift for a friend or family member with a newborn or one that is expecting!

I used an older collection from Authentique, Delightful,  I'm still in love with it! I love these colors, you can use it for boy or girl... so great!

For the base, I used the overalls mini album from clear scarps. I turned the pages around then I cut my papers 1/4 inch smaller so you could still see the clear acrylic.

The word baby is a die from Marianne Desgins, a Dutch company.

The icons are a good combination with the detail stickers.
I glued everything down with foam-tape. Also, I inked all of the edges this time with my memento dew drops in "peanut brittle" and "pear tart" from Imagine Crafts.

Last, I added a soft little touch of white paint to the edges to make the clear acrylic stand out.

Products Used:
Clear Scraps: Overalls Mini Album

Authentique: Delightful collection- 12 x 12 patterned papers, 6x6 bundle, icons, element stickers, details stickers

Announcing: Winter "Seasons" Petite Collection

Winter "Seasons" Petite Collection

We are pleased to announce a heart-warming "Petite Collection" - Winter:Seasons, just in time for winter! It doesn't snow everywhere, so winter-themed collections can be tricky, because some {really lucky} people don't have {to deal with} snow, but it is an iconoclastic theme, and most of us visit cold places during winter!

A view of the Winter:Seasons collection on our hand-crafted display.

We felt three double sided patterns and a creative cut-apart "Enhancements" sheet were just the right amount of paper for the seasonal theme. The multi-faceted usability "cut-aparts" make them a value and the different patterned sections on the back of this paper (even more designs) will be tempting to use on their own! Don't worry, even though there are just three papers {in addition to the Enhancements} the patterns and designs offer a perfect mix of scale across the board.

A coordinating sticker sheet and 24 piece bundle round out this "petite collection".

Spring, Summer and Autumn themes will follow...think of the calendars, daily projects, etc. you could create with these seasonal themes!

Winter "Seasons"  project by Design Team Member Guiseppa Gubler

Other non-seasonal "petite collections" will follow, such as, remembrance, grandparents and more! We love having surprises up our sleeve, so stay tuned! Click over to our website to view the full collection...Winter:Seasons shipped to stores this week, so ask for it or check the shelves of your favorite LSS/online retailer right away!

We want to GIVE AWAY a Winter "Seasons" prize to one lucky fan! Just leave a comment telling us what you love about this collection and we will draw and announce a winner in a few weeks!

Guest Designer: Heather Leopard

Today we have Heather Leopard with us as a guest designer! We have been very excited about her post since she sent over all of the festive projects that she made! We just couldn't wait to share with you all!

I'm a mommy to 2 adorable girls and a wonderful step-son with a hubby who supports my crafty obsessions. I'm lucky enough to work at home for a major tech company utilizing my marketing background and passion for social media. After the kids are tucked into bed at night, I'm usually found in my craft room playing with papers, scissors and embellies. My style is eclectic a.k.a random…I go where the pictures, paper and embellishments take me. Sometimes it involves lots of layering, painting, masking and misting and sometimes I go for clean & simpler. I design for American Crafts, Lily Bee Design and Little Yellow Bicycle. I also manage the social media activity for Scrapbook Circle kit club. The adventurous side of me loves to scuba dive with my hubby and I have encountered the most beautiful and also the scariest of things under the sea, including random encounters with hammerhead and nurse sharks!

I have gotten so many compliments on these trees and they were so easy to make! See the step by step instructions on my blog.

I created these tags to be the focal point for several gifts I will be giving this year. After cutting the tags, I used mists and paint to dress up the base of the tags. I then used a combination of fibers, paper and stickers to create little “scenes” for each card. The papers and stickers in this collection did all the work and demonstrate the reason for the season on their own.

I was trying to go for a glowing light effect with this card, like when you see lights on a tree from a distance. I simply dripped mist on it by removing the spray nozzle and tapping it to the top of the card. The mist dripped down to give this effect. I added some red paint to the base once dried. I topped it off with paper, a sticker frame, burlap and then I added red canvas ribbon around the sticker and a black bow to make the sentiment pop.

The paper from the 6x6 paper pad did most of the work for me on this tag. The winter scene and December calendar is my focal point with the Santa sticker. We all know the real meaning of Christmas but Santa is a good reflection of the Magic of Christmas.

I cut this tag straight from the paper. I just love the music sheet and cardinal. I added some white feathers, twine and the sentiment and voila!

This is a simpler card but it’s one of my favorites. I just added some paint to the base and then I cut strips of the candy cane looking paper from the 6x6 pad and alternated the pattern to give it a chevron feel. I topped it off with the sticker sentiment wrapped in red/white striped twine.
This card is a bit unique in that it starts out looking like a matchbook. The front is decorated with a simple sentiment, ribbon, poinsettia and bling.

The front flap is tucked in and when you pull it out, it reveals a pocket on the inside. I added some burlap under the Hope sticker but it didn’t pop off the cream pocket so I went back and added green paint.

You can add a gift card or a note.

Be sure to stop by Heather's personal blog and say hello, and please let her know we sent you!
