I used "Lovely," our beautiful Valentine collection for my project today. I love this collection because it has so much detail. I really love different die cuts and the stickers sheets.

I made two tags and stuck them inside an embellished envelope.

On the envelope I used the little daisies from Petaloo. I fell in love with these cute little flowers!

As you can see, I scored two lines at bottom of the envelope to give more space on the inside. On both sides I used foam tape. Now there's enough space to hold the two tags.

On the two tags, I used the die cuts and the stickers and glued them with foam tape for more dimension.
As you see, the flowers match great with this collection. I made the right flower bigger and used leaves from a different flower. I also added some of Petaloo's lovely hat pins to the right flower.

Authentique: lovely collection Diecuts, stickers
Petaloo: mini daisies,beaded hat pins, dahlias
May Arts: ribbon

Hello Authentique friends. JJ here again, to share a layout featuring "Lovely" and some pretty embellishments from Petaloo.   "Lovely" may have a distinct Valentine vibe, but don't feel like you have to use it for only Valentine's Day.   I've used it with these photos of my daughter, and one of her little quirks, because the colours were perfect.

Petaloo's Darjeeling flowers work perfectly with Authentique's papers - the textures work so well together.  I've used the Darjeeling Dahlias - Hyacinthe, and the Darjeeling Mini-pearl Daises - Hyacinthe.

I adhered the letter stickers to one of the 'solid' patterns in the collection, then cut it out and pop-dotted it for dimension.  The soft ribbons that are gathered under the edge of paper (and on the stick pin) are from May Arts.

In this detail shot, you can see some of the lovely stick pins from Petaloo - so easy to just tuck in behind other embellishments.  Also, if you look closely, you can see that I've used some of the "Lovely" frame stickers.  They don't always have to 'frame' something - sometimes they are just a nice detail.  :)

Today's project was a long way in the making. I've had these adorable photos of my little one for awhile now, just waiting for the perfect papers to mix them with. Although they are not Valentine photographs, the "lovely" pinks, reds, black and creams of the Lovely Collection are perfect. I loved adding all of the different Petaloo flowers throughout the layout.
I started with a full sheet of Amour, then layered DaintyValentine and Be Mine, using the Kiwi Lane Designs templates in Paisley Place to showcase all of the various papers. The photos were matted using the 6x6 pad from the Paper Crafting Assortment.
I then added Petaloo's wonderful flowers from their Spring Darjeeling collection (Mini DaisiesDahlias, and Mini Pearl Daisies), along with some small embellishments from the Paper Crafting Assortment. I love all of the little die cuts in the set.
The little lock sticker is a perfect addition, peeking out from behind the photo corner.
I die cut the title using my Silhouette and both the pattern and the reverse of the Keynote paper. It needed something more however, so I used the Picolla Cool-Set Enameling Gel in Napthol Red. The Enameling Gel was a perfect addition, as it gave shine and dimension to the heart.
Lastly, I added another die cut from the Paper Crafting Assortment, and another Mini Pearl Daisy.
It was really fun to play with flowers in a layout. All of the little details really made this a special project that I know that I will cherish forever.

Products Used:

Authentique: Lovely Collection: Adore, Keynote, Valentine, Amour, Dainty, Be Mine 6x6 Pad, Paper Crafting Assortment, Details Stickers, Elements StickersPetaloo: Mini DaisiesDahlias, and Mini Pearl Daisies
Other Supplies: Imagine Crafts Memento Ink in Gray Flannel, Piccolo Cool-Set Enameling Gel, Kiwi Lane Designs Templates

I can never get enough flowers.  They seem to be a staple in my scrappy stash, so I was so excited to be able to use Petaloo on my Lovely project.  Guiseppa here, to share with you a shadow box frame I made using Lovey and Petaloo flowers.

I made my frame from a Silhouette cut, so it is all cardstock...kind of cool huh?  I used some Lovely to makes some additional flowers and to line the inside of the box.  I also used the Lovely Element Stickers for added establishments next to the flowers.  I added a little bit of pink ribbon from May Arts.

The message inside the box is a from my sweet hubby Sam.  He wrote some things about me that he loved and gave it to me one day.  I thought it was so sweet and I needed to find a way to display this cute way of him showing his affection for me.

Just an idea here, but maybe you could break out a bit of Lovely and make a special Valentine's Day gift for that special someone in your life.

Authentique Supplies:
Lovely: Dainty #LOV015, Elements #LOV008, Details #LOV007 and 6x6 Bundle #LOV009
Petaloo Supplies: Beaded Hat Pins Fuschia, Beaded Peonies Small Black, Velvet Hydrangeas Black and Dasies Large Pink/Lav/Roses

A "Lovely" Tuesday full of Inspiration with Authentique Paper & Petaloo!

I love pairing up Authentique papers with Petaloo anything...
they were made for each other, which makes any project
using the two fun!
Today I'm sharing a layout of my daughter with photos
that I took after her last dancing show.
 I started with a background from one of the Lovely papers,
"Crush" and a little bit of misting in black velvet by
Heidi Swapp. The next step was pretty cool...I actually embossed
 a small piece of the "Dearest" paper in a rose pattern and
used it as the mat for my photos.
The shabby chic look of the Pink Dahlias mix perfectly with
 the cute whimsy of the Mini Florettes with their
 blinged centers.  I placed a small round foam dot on
 the backs of the Florettes so that they would really pop up
 from the embellishment they were added to.
In keeping with the 'round' embellishment theme, I used the
 three round seals from the "cards repeats" stickers, along
with a doily die and round punch.  It's fun to experiment
 with the different punch-outs and stickers to see
what will look best and where...Authentique
gives you so many possibilites in all of their collections!

Authentique: Lovely- Dearest paper, Crush paper, Fancy paper,
Card Repeats Stickers, Details 12x12 Stickers, Icons Paper
Die Cuts
Petaloo: Mini Florettes Valentines Rd; Dahlias Pink/Lav/Roses

Enjoy the week's worth of "lovely" projects with
Authentique and Petaloo!

Playing cards are one of my favorite things to alter.
They are just the right size for little love notes and messages to leave for your favorite people.
Authentique's "Lovely"  is the perfect collection for making these sweet little love notes.
I also added cool May Arts ribbon and THESE fun Dazzle flowers from Petaloo match perfectly and add just a touch of bling.

Announcing "Hope"

We are pleased to announce our “Hope” collection in an elegant color palette suited to the splendor of the Easter holiday. The emotion of this holiday is deeper than sometimes portrayed in craft projects, so we felt the nostalgic, beautiful, yet light-hearted designs paired with the name "Hope" appropriately captured the essence of the holiday. On a lighter note, everyone takes photos in their new Easter outfits and the nostalgic designs in this line are so sweet and vintage.

The "Hope" collection is printed on our EXCLUSIVE custom-milled textured paper, reminiscent of a basket-weave look and feel...unique to Authentique Paper!

Below we've highlighted a few of the paper designs and shared a few thoughts on how we see them being used...

{We instantly think "Beatrix Potter" when admiring this adorable bunnies paper}

{Mini bows are a great background for more than just Easter, it could also be used for baby projects and cards!}

 {This paper screams nostalgia and could be used in so many different ways!}

 {We love the elegance of these decorative eggs - this paper would be gorgeous when used in a home decor setting}

{A classic plaid with beige, cream and soft blue is always classic and versatile}

{Our BRAND NEW 12x12 "Statements" sticker was created in a bit of a larger format, we so often see people use the larger stickers in projects, so we thought instead of having just one or two, why not offer over a dozen unique shapes with designs and backgrounds ideal for journaling. These stickers will make a statement, whether used on their own, or personalized in a project.}

Included in this line:

  • 12 paper designs - There are two options for this collection - 6 papers with detailed designs on both sides AND a 12 papers with the design on the front and a coordinating solid on the back (we heard such positive feedback from having distressed solids on the back of our Lovely papers, we decided to offer a limited quantity of papers in the format for this line.)
  • 12x12 Statements sticker (printed on our custom-made matte-finish which allows for better color matching to the papers, which you can't achieve with the glossy finish...and they ink beautifully)
  • 12x8 Elements sticker - Petite alpha stickers, our very popular diction mini word stickers, a great value, with over 500 stickers for only $3.00!
  • BRAND NEW 8x8 bundle - 24 sheets, reduced designs with a coordinating solid on the back...perfect for the altered artist or mini album specialist!
  • 6x6 bundle - For those of you not quite ready to transition to 8x8, the 6x6 paper pad is still available!
  • Collection kit - 12 papers, a 12x12 Details sticker (only available in the kit), and a 12x8 Elements sticker.

To view the full "Hope" collection, please visit our website...as you can see, the patterns are well-rounded and useful for all age ranges and projects.

We want to GIVE AWAY a "Hope" prize to one lucky fan! Just leave a comment telling us what you love about this collection and we will draw and announce a winner in our "Winner Round-up" at the end of this month!

Oh, one last thing - we've created custom "badges" you can use as your profile picture on the various social media sites...you can download one or both of the images below and show your love of Authentique in style!

Art + Emotion = Authentique

I’ve heard stories of super-human strength...things like a young boy lifting a vehicle off his brother who was trapped, etc. and while I’m sure many of them are true, I’ve never looked into the details all that deeply. However, I do firmly believe in the power of positive thought and that one’s state of mind has a huge impact on outcomes.

{Canvas with paint and paper by Angie Blom using our "Renew" collection}

As we were developing our main collections to begin 2013, we pondered how to best name them. It can be tempting to describe collections in a generic way, or around a kitchy phrase, but we felt best about sticking with the emotional purpose behind each collection.

When we took a step back and looked at the chronological list of what we had developed... Renew, Hope, Grace, and Strong, it was clear we were feeling positive and wanted to play our part in continuing to breathe optimism into a great industry.

{Sneak peek of a layout using our upcoming "Grace" collection}

“Grace”, is perhaps my favorite collection name, especially since it will be released around Mother’s Day. The word emotmizes the effortless sacrifice we truly admire in our mothers and grandmothers. If projects, cards and mini albums aren’t made with an emotional intent in mind, they won’t be as effective. We feel the same way about our collections. While color palettes and designs are critical, we believe the overall purpose of a collection is most important.

{Sneak peek of our upcoming "Strong" collection}

When we unveiled Remembrance (an elegant “sympathy” line) and Cherish (a heartfelt grandparents line) at the CHA Winter show a few weeks ago, the response from our retailers was overwhelming. I love artistic sensibility, color and composition, but I think it’s amazing when art and emotion combine.

{Painted wood block, paper and stickers from the upcoming "Remembrance" collection}

I’d like to share a powerful personal example... this Christmas, my oldest daughter asked me what I might like as a present. I asked her to write me a poem, since she is so gifted as a writer and thinker. I wondered if she took me seriously and left to her own devices, the poem came on a canvas, painted with oil, in a way that eclipsed gift giving...it became an instant treasure. I hope you will make your own treasures with our collections.

Sincerely,

Bret

Announcing: Spring "Seasons" Petite Collection

“Seasons: Spring” is a cheerful Petite Collection great for spring or feminine projects...filled with rich colors worth having in your stash!

A view of the Spring: Seasons collection on our hand-crafted display.

The first paper design is a ledger background with spring-inspired pennants on one side, and a flirty, fun mini-floral on the other!

Paper number two has a gorgeous organic floral pattern and a perfectly-scaled diagonal stripe on the back.

It wouldn't be spring without umbrellas, birds and rain drops...paper "three" is a must-have!

We believe three double-sided patterns and a creative cut-apart “Enhancements” sheet were just the right amount for this type of seasonal theme. The multi-faceted usability of the “cut-aparts” make them an excellent value and we really focused on the perfect mix of scale since there are just three papers in the line. The back side of the "Enhancements" paper has three sections, each with a different color combination and pattern, making this paper an excellent value!

A coordinating sticker sheet and 24 piece bundle round out this "petite collection". Reduced scale designs and solid color papers offer a nice variety for all of the smaller scale projects you want to create.

Our 12x8 "Elements" stickers are designed for creating multiple cards or projects...the repeating words, phrases and images make this possible!

Our Seasons:Winter collection is available and in stores now, and Spring is shipping this week! Summer and Autumn themes will follow...think of the calendars, daily projects, etc. you could create with these seasonal themes!

Spring "Seasons"  projects by Design Team Member Loes de Groot

Other non-seasonal "petite collections" will follow, such as, a "Remembrance" sympathy/thinking of you theme, "Cherish" (grandparents theme) and more! We love having surprises up our sleeve, so stay tuned! Click over to our website to view the full collection...Spring:Seasons is available NOW, so ask for it or check the shelves of your favorite LSS/online retailer right away!

We want to GIVE AWAY a Spring "Seasons" prize to one lucky fan! Just leave a comment telling us what you love about this collection and we will draw and announce a winner in our "Winner Round-up" at the end of this month!

"Lovely" Mini Album by Cat's Creations Scrapbooks!

Today we are thrilled to feature one of our retailers, Cat Beaty from Cat's Creations Scrapbooks in Mineral Wells, TX. We just love the mini album class she has created using our "Lovely" collection.

This cute little 6x6 Valentine book using the Authentique Lovely collection is a remake of a technique I learned in a class taught by Joey Otlo from Bazzill. The base of the book is an accordion fold technique using  Bazzill's new 12 x 24 paper. You score the center of the paper and accordion fold it to make your binding. Cut the paper in half long ways and you get two book bases from one sheet of the 12 x 24 paper. The wonderful weight of Authentique papers made it the perfect choice for the inside of the book. As you add your paper to the center of the book you make pockets. Since tags are the hot item right now I thought it would be fun to add tags to the pockets. I used many of the Tim Holtz techniques on my tags to embellish them. The wonderful vintage Valentine page from the Lovely collection was perfect to cut up and add to the tags after embossing, inking, etc. I love ribbon so had to add lots of ribbon to the tags to make the book full and over the top as the ribbons topping the tags spill out over the top of the book giving it a look of being larger. This will be a fun and easy class for my ladies at Cat's Creations Scrapbooks on January 27th. They will be able to make more of these books for any occasion and what a wonderful gift idea! Thank you Authentique for once again providing us with papers to inspire our creativity!

If you are in the area and interested in taking Cat's "Lovely" album class, make sure you check out her class schedule http://www.catscreationsscrapbooks.com/Classesandcrops.html
Stop by Cat's Facebook Page and let her know we sent you by to say hello! https://www.facebook.com/CatsCreationsScrapbooks

Everyone seemed to really love it! We had a lot of fun!

Our team ready for CHA to begin! (Dan, Emily, Melodee, Bret, Sam, & Ryan)

We hosted a make & take at our booth featuring our new file folders and our "Renew" collection, it went over really well!

I even got asked for a few autographs!

We were even showered with gifts!

Patti from The Queen's Ink brought us one of her beautiful altered cigar boxes made with our "lovely" collection.

A view of our "Seasons" Petite collections on display.

Pinspired Monday...a winter banner!

Happy Monday all my crafty friends!  Guiseppa here to share with you a way fun and easy project I made inspired by Pinterest of course.  This project features the new Season Winter Collection.

I was inspired by this pin from Pinterest!

I used the Winter Enhancements and attached them using mini clothespins.  I also wrapped Seasons Winter patterned paper around some wood spools, and cut my snowflakes using my Silhouette.  For an added touch, I tied some matching ribbon on.  I was so easy and only took me a couple of hours to do.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you were Pinspired!

Authentique Supplies:
Seasons Winter Collection: Winter Enhancements #SEA004, Winter One #SEA001, Winter Two #SEA002 and Winter Three #SEA003

Pinspired Monday - Puzzle Pieces with "Renew"

Hello Authentique friends!  JJ here to welcome you to the first Pinspired Monday of 2013!  And it features our brand new collection "Renew" (how perfect for the beginning of the year, right?)

Today's 'pinspiration' comes from this pin:

The interlocked shapes on this rug immediately made me think of the awesome new puzzle-piece die-cuts in the Renew collection:

The "Rejuvenate" sheet in this collection provides lots of 'fussy-cutting' opportunities:

Layering a couple of die-cuts with Zap Dots adhesive and a few pins can create a fun, custom embellishment:

This collection also has die-cut tabbed files, in the perfect size for journaling:

"Foundation One", "Engergize", "Blossom", "Rejuvenate", "Flourish", Mini-Notes, Frames & Corners, Circles& Scallops, Mini-letters,  Puzzle Pieces

Announcing: Renew

The new year brings a natural opportunity to "Renew" ourselves. We are pleased to present this collection of 6 double sided patterned papers, 2 coordinating solid papers (solid on the front, faint pattern on the back)...AND... 9 brand new items!

In addition to the beauty of the items in the collection, we are so excited to reveal a little something we've been working on for months....hand-picked, custom milled, exclusive to Authentique Paper...a different unique texture to our paper! While others have imitated our signature textured paper, we decided to take it a step further and create our very own unique finishes for our paper. There are several different textures, which will appear throughout our new product releases in 2013.

"Renew" is printed on a soft, petal-like finish, allowing the beauty of the designs to shine while still offering luxurious paper for you to craft with!

Project by Design Team Member Loes de Groot

All of our brand new paper die cut accents are printed an exclusive, custom made heavy weight textured paper - this is a texture you have never seen before (and it is different from the texture on the 6 double sided papers)! The die cuts are also printed on both sides, giving you twice the value as well as double the options for use!

NEW ITEM #1 - "Puzzle Pieces" - Puzzle piece-shaped paper die cuts are a unique and fun addition to any project. Use alone or layer on top of one another to piece together to accent a memory!

NEW ITEM #2 - "Mini Notes" - Add a personal note to any project, card or creation...just over 3" wide, we think these are a great size!

NEW ITEM #3 - "Block Numbers" - Personalize with a number or date...imagine the possibilities!

NEW ITEM #4 - "Frames & Corners" - Highlight photos whether big or small (overall size of this item is almost 6" wide). Don't forget they are double sided too!

NEW ITEM #5 - "Titles & Phrases" - Theme your project by adding the perfect title or phrase!

NEW ITEM #6 - "Hinges & Tabs" - How can you not swoon over hinges and tabs? Add the perfect edge to your creation!

NEW ITEM #7 - "Circles & Scallops" - Great for layering and adding a little pop!

NEW ITEM #8 - "Petite Folders" - Yes, we just said it - perfectly sized petite file folders...about the size of a recipe card, we see so many opportunities to add these to gifts, projects, mini albums, layouts, etc. You have to see these in person, they are awesome!

NEW ITEM #9 - 8x8 paper bundle!!! We LOVE 6x6, don't get us wrong, and we still offer a 6x6 paper pad, but sometimes you need more than 6" of paper - 12" may be too much, but 8" is just right! Altered artists unite and get your hands on our 8x8 bundles, they are out of this world!

The collection kit for "Renew" is a little different as well - included in the kit are 14 double sided papers, an exclusive kit-only 12x12 Details sticker and an exclusive kit-only 12x8 Elements sticker.

12x12 paper designs for "Renew" are below...be prepared to fall in love!

This collection has started shipping to stores all around the world, so you don't have to wait to get your hands on it to feel the two new textures we've dedicated to this collection!

We want to GIVE AWAY a "Renew" prize to one lucky fan! Just leave a comment telling us what you love about this collection and we will draw and announce a winner soon!
