Halloween Treat Banner

_MG_9314

Hello everyone.  It's Leonie here today from the Guest Design Team.

I've been busy making an Off The Page item, which is something a little different for me.  I'm mostly a scrap pages kind of girl.   But, I had this idea for a little Halloween Treat Banner.  The more I thought about it, the more detailed it became in my mind.  So I gave it a go and was pleasantly surprised at how quick and easily it all came together.   Complete with sweet treats for the kids.

I've used Paper Crafter Crayons as a resist with Gelatos® in a really simple and quick technique.  I hope you like it and I think this technique could be just as easily used on cards or scrapbooking layouts.

Here's a video of the process I went through to create this off the page item.  I think I'm getting the hang of these videos,  I'm finding them quite fun to put together.  Learning something new each time, I hope you enjoy watching them.  Let me know what you think.

I'm really not too sure the lollipops will last til Halloween though!!  My kids have already been eyeing them off!   Asking who they are for and why have I got lollipops on my scrapbooking?!

Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope you enjoy a little creative, you time, today.

Cheers,

Leonie Neal-Dawson.

Mixed Media Canvas

Hi everyone, it's Anita today and I want to share with you a canvas
I made using lots of wonderful Faber-Castell® products.
I used a flat canvas for this so I could do some stamping on it. For the image at the top
I used my Stampers Big Brush Pens; Black to stamp the image and it is colored
 with Light Cobalt Turquoise #154.
To create the colored dots that are scattered across the canvas I used my
soldering iron to melt Paper Crafter Crayons in a variety of colors.
I started by painting the background with Gesso mixed with Bubble Gum Gelatos®.
I wanted a streaky effect so I did not mix the Gelatos® all the way in.
While the Gesso was still wet I pushed small doilies into it for texture.
To color my background I mixed several colors of Gelatos® with water and
brushed the colors on randomly.  I like to mix my colors right on my craft mat - it is easier
for me to work with it this way.
I colored wood butterflies with Blue Metal and Metallic Grape Gelatos. I applied the colors
directly to the wood and blended with my fingers.
I added accents with Black and White Stampers Big Brush Pens then sprayed
them with a fixative for some shine.
For my title I colored a chippie with Cherry Red Gelatos® and then added
a coat of Diamond Glaze. For the background I used more Gelatos® mixed with
water to stamp the circles.
I used my Black Stampers Big Brush Pen to stamp my images then
added some glitter glue for sparkle.
Here you can see one of the doilys after it has been colored.
I added a sprinkle of tiny chipboard stars to finish it off.
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you enjoyed my project.

A glaze technique with Rita

Rita

Hello crafty Peeps Rita Barakat here! I was doing a little experiment
with glaze and I thought I'd share it with you...
I laid a stencil down on a sheet of  DCWV Fabric Adhesive Stack
and added Faber-Castell Glaze on top.
Here it is wet - set that aside to dry.
Here is the back, I colored with Gelatos then went back with a wet paint brush and blended.
I did the same thing on the front after the glaze dried.
Then I glued the two sides together to make my little heart.
It was a fun little project and I was really quite pleased with the way glaze looked,
I will definitely be trying this one again!

Just Dance

ClassLayout_Dance6Jen Matott here to share a layout that I did with Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft products and Prima!  I used Prima's "LifeTime" line for this. I love the already painted look of the papers and it makes it easy to add more artsy touches.  I love the neutral colors too and just wanted to add a bit of color to make some areas POP!   DanceLayout_JenMatott1
Using Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Textural Accents Gesso mixed with a little bit of Gel Medium to give more body to the gesso, I used it with a palette knife through a stencil.  I dried it with a heat gun which gave it a bit of a textured look by holding the heat over sections longer. Once it was completely dry, I used Blood Orange & Snow Cone Gelatos over some areas.

DanceLayout_JenMatott2

Lots of layers of embellishments make this layout elegant and full of artistic details.  The stunning photo of a young dancer was taken by one of my talented friends, Nicole Hiltbrand of NicoleJames Photography

ClassLayout_Dance3

I stamped the floral images with a black Stamper's Big Brush Pen.  It gives an intense black design. The image is crisp and permenant using the India Ink pen.

I love the way the Textural Accents add some depth and fun ways to integrate design into layouts.

Supply List:

Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Textural Accents: Gesso & Gel Medium

Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Gelatos®:  Blood Orange & Snow Cone

Stamper's Big Brush Pen in black

Prima: All papers (Lifetime collection), embellishments, stencil, stamps, and flowers.

Waxy surfaces

Hey there crafters, Rita Barakat here! Have you tried Faber-Casteel Design Memory
Craft Paper Crafter Crayons yet? These are so fun!
I redid this waxy paper bag!
It's so easy!
First I drew on the bag with three colors, then  I heated up my mini craft iron and spread
the color over the bag. (This technique works on regular paper too!)
I also melted the Paper Crafter Crayons directly on the mini iron
and spread it onto the bag until all of the areas were covered.
It looks marbleized and is smooth. It makes
for a great background!
Add some decorations and it's good to go!
So what do you think? Have you tried them yet?

Painted leaves.

Kasia

Hello! Kasia Krzyminska here.  I think fall is the most inspiring season and I'm always waiting for the whole year for all of these beautful leaves,  foggy mornings and long evenings.  And what you like the most about autumn? Maybe you will also like my painted leaves that I wanted to show you today.

Firstly I doodled on them with my PITT® Artist Pens using different nibs. Then I added some white dots on them white PITT® Artist Pen.

27a

That was a great fun but the best part was coloring them. I used Gelatos® Colors. I applied them directly on leaf and rubbed with blending tool .

27f

You can also apply Gelatos® Colors with your finger. Just to emphasize structure of leaves like I did here:

27d

And here are my leaves. Hope you like it:

Love This!

Love This, ALLassiter, FC

Hello! It's Amy here today, to share a layout I made with a super cool and fun technique! I discovered the power of Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft gesso and Paper Crafter Crayons, working in tandem....and it creates a really fabulously artsy look.

Using a mask or stencil, and gesso (which looks fabulous on their own), layering a background of texture and design is easy. Once dry, adding melted paper crafter crayons using an iron, is a simple way to add plenty of pizazz to any project. Have a look at a  quick video I created sharing this technique.

Harlequin, ALL, FC

I took this photo from my daughter's facebook, and I loved her "Amy Winehouse" style look. She loves to take selfies, and I thought I had to share this in a layout. bee flair, ALL, FC

I also used Pitt Artist Pens, and Gelatos to add to the messy artsy style of this page. It's fun to just set yourself free with great crafting supplies. Love this, starburst, ALLassiter

Thanks so much for joining me today! I hope you'll give this technique a try, I think you'll have so much fun with it....stepping out of the box is always a great way to discover yourself as an artist and crafter!

Fall Leaf Thanksgiving Place Card

Joyslife placemarker complete w

It's hard to believe but Thanksgiving is right around the corner!  Here's an easy place card that you can create with scrap paper, a few crafty embellishments and Faber Castell Design Memory Craft's beautiful colors and products.

   Joyslife cuttlebug1

Using an adhesive backed canvas, I ran it with a leaf die through my Cuttlebug manual die cut machine.

  Joyslife artist pen mist

After the leaves were cut, I scribbled onto my craft mat using the Light Green, Orange Glaze and Pale Geranium Lake Stamper's Big Brush pens.  I sprayed water onto the ink and created these pools of color.  Then, I dabbed the canvas leaf into the paint.

Joyslife green paper crafter crayon

I liked the way my leaf looked after the first process but I decided I'd do a bit more.  I drew directly onto the leaf using white and green Paper Crafter Crayons.  I knew they would both help act as a resist and that the color from the green would continue to shine through if I added more color.

Joyslife gelato red

Next, I used a beautiful Blood Orange Gelato to give some additional color to the edges of the leaf.  I also added yellow using the Banana Gelato.  I used my fingers to rub in the color.

Joyslife white pen21
I wrote the name on the place card using the white Stamper's Big Brush.

  Joyslife placemarker 1

I created a stand for the card by scoring a piece of cardstock about a half an inch from the top and gluing it to the back of the top piece.  I added a piece of burlap ribbon to the top.

JoysLife leaf close 1

I outlined the edges of the place card using the Black Stamper's Big Brush.

  Joyslife placemarker side2

I just love that beautiful leaf!  I'm constantly impressed at what vivid colors these products create!

Motivation Card

Tatiana

Hi! Tatiana Yemelyanenko is here today sharing my second project for Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft.  I’ve made motivation card with mountains as top’s symbol.

I started with drawing little rectangles on piece of white watercolor paper by using PITT® Pastel Pencils Neutrals, they combine with each other perfectly.

Tatiana1

Tatiana2

Then I added some water to my mountains for blending colors.

Tatiana3

I mixed Glaze with Maya Road glitter and covered top of the mountains.

Tatiana4

As base of my card I used a piece of patterned paper. I applied Gesso using the stencil (I cut it on my Silhouette).

Tatiana5

Then I covered borders of the card with Glaze and glitter mixture. After it has completely dried I sewed a piece of May Arts ribbon.

Tatiana6

Then I added other embellishments and glued mountains on foam tape.

Tatiana7

For adding more colors to flower I gently covered it with Stamper's Big Brush Pen and blurred color with water.

Tatiana8

Then I cut motivation phrase ‘To the top’ on Silhouette and glued it on the top of the card. On the next step I covered bird with black PITT Artist Pen and Glaze. Close-ups of the card.

Tatiana9

Thanks so much for watching! I hope I have inspired you.
