Mixing mediums - PITT® Artist Pens & Gelatos™

.
Hi there bloggers Rita Barakat here!  Today I have another  page out of my Art Journal and I took some pictures in progress...
The drawing... I knew as soon as I finished this drawing that this would be one of my favorite pages!
For the skin I used Peach and Tangerine Gelatos™ .   I drew color onto the page then blended it with a wet paint brush.
To add shawdows and a more opaque feel to her skin so I added a little white acrylic paint too.

For the background, I glued down newsprint scraps and colored with Gold Champange and Chocolate Gelatos™.  For the rest of the page I used PITT® Artist Pens andStamper’s Big Brush Pens to fill in all the other color!  I really love the bold color!!!  Because the products are meant to mix and match you can see that even though I used Gelatos™ on the skin  and background
and PITT® Artist Pens on the majority the whole page still flows together!

The thing I love about having an art journal book is anything goes - no wrong or right, use what ever materials you like! Do you have an art journal?

If so I would love to take a peek!  Leave us a link!

Please excuse the blurriness! I broke my iPhone's screen prior to filming this and now I have a new one, so no more blurry videos- promise!

Art Journal pages with Gelatos™ Colors

Rita layout
Hey bloggers Rita Barakat   here!  Today I have a journal page using lots of Gelatos™ Colors
to share, I managed to snap a few phots in progress - thought they might be interesting.  I know I like to look at others peoples work in progress.

A rough drawing in pencil on handmade watercolor paper.
Using  Gelatos™ Colors in Peach and Chocolate.
 Add a little water.
Add a little bit of white acrylic paint to even out skin tone
fill in  eyes and lips - more Gelatos™ Colors, Bubble Gum and Red Cherry.
For smaller areas like the eyes I used matching colors in
Art GRIP® Aquarelle Watercolor Pencils
and water.
Black 199, Brown 176
For the hair color I used Gelatos™ Colors   in Black Licorice and Metallic Grape.
(Can I get this color hair please?)
After blending with a wet paintbrush.
Used I used Tangerine and Lemon Gelatos™ Colors   for the flower.
Blended with a wet paint brush.
The Gelatos™ Colors in the background are Boysenberry, Blueberry & Lavender.
Blended with a wet paint brush..
For this page I went back with a matching black (199)
Art GRIP® Color Pencil for details,
sometimes I use  a  PITT® Artist Pen but I wanted a soft look.
The finished project...
I also went in and added rub ons & scraps of paper (Pink Paislee)
in the background. I used heavy gel matte medium to
add the scraps of paper -  it does not warp or buckle the page and
it blends right in as if it's always been there.
Hope you enjoyed this post as much as I enjoyed making it!

 Supply List:

Gelatos in Neutral (Peach; Butterscotch; Chocolate; Earl Grey)
Gelatos 4ct: RED (Guava; Lavender; Bubble Gum, Red Cherry)
Gelatos 4ct: BLUE ( Cotton Candy, Blueberry, Boysenberry, Grape)
Metallic Gelatos 4ct ( Metallic Melon, Metallic Blueberry, Metallic Mint, Metallic Grape)
Gelatos 4ct: YELLOW (Tangerine, Mango, Lemon, Buttercream)

A simple page

Hi there, Mou Saha here with today's post.  It's a very simple art journal page. It could even be a card.

Moulayout

I used watercolor paper and a little bit of yellow Gelato® blended with water for the base.

I colored the white ribbon with blue Gelatos® and blended the colors with water.

I scrunched up the ribbon and stitched it to make the flower. Added stem and leaves by cutting out colored green watercolor paper. And then wrote the quote using PITT® Artist Pen coloring in some details with stampers big brush markers.

I think the simplicity of the page let's the simple truth of the quote stand out even more!

Pen Doodles

Jen Matott here to share a layout that I created using PITT® Artist Pens in black.  I love these pens more than any other!  The small tip is perfect for doodling and drawing with precise lines and then the wider tips for filling in areas.  I thought I'd share with you my doodling on a current layout!

Pendoodles
I started with an outline of butterflies using various stencils or die cuts. The large butterfly was divided up symmetrically into sections.  Then I added a different pattern drawn freehand into each area. This process is theraputic to me... it allows me to

relax and just let my mind flow onto the page.

DSC08462
I also wrote my journaling around the top of the large butterfly.  It reads: "Step into the light and let the truth shine out of the darkness".   I also outlined the other paper butterflies when I adhered them on the page to create some depth.

JenM0612True5The PITT® Artist Pens are perfect for adding original details to your pages or projects!  I love adding patterns and doodles to pages in my journals as well as layouts!

JenM0612True3

I don't sketch it ahead of time or use pencil first, though you could if you wanted, but rather draw directly onto the page.  If  I make a "mistake" I just create a different pattern to incorporate it into the design.  There are no right or wrong ways to doodle!  Just enjoy the process!

Easy Acrylic Layout

Ritaacrylic

Hey hey bloggers! Rita Barakat here!
Sometimes a layout speaks for itself.  No it does not have journaling but I was thinking of this
more like wall art. I used a 12 x 12 sheet of acrylic and LOTS of artsy
products! My little one is truly a girlie girl, so this is perfect for her!  Perhaps you have a girlie girl too?
I left the acrylic areas behind the stenciled hearts clear, you could put paper behind it but because I left it clear it will match any decor.  To get that dreamy background color I used a stencil and Gesso, after it was dry I added three colors of  Gelatos™ (Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft) and blended with a little water paintbrush.   Here is another peek at the title, a slightly different angle so you can see the colors- I love Gelatos!  I hope this inspires you to create something pretty today!
Supplies:
Gelatos
Gesso, ahesive
Clear Scraps 12x12 acrylic sheet-
Patter paper & flowers,
Love My Tapes Lace ribbon &Washi Tape

Using Donna Downey's Canvas tote bag from Prima, I transformed the blank canvas surface into a colorful and unique bag!  In the recorded class, I show you how I use the Gelatos™ in various ways (mists, washes, smudging, as a paint...) and other media on the canvas!
