A huge welcome.... & thank you!!!!

Okay if you know me... I hate change. However, that is life and I have also learned that growth and good things can and do happen with change.

As a company, we sent out this release yesterday-

"Hello retailers and friends of Teresa Collins Designs. I'm Brian Orr, the new sales director for TCD. I'm excited for this opportunity to work with you and look forward to getting to know how I can help build your business.

It is with mixed emotions that we all say goodbye to Nick Nash. He's done a tremendous job of building a good name for Teresa Collins Designs, and we're sad to see him go. We plan on continuing to build on what he has done with increasingly better product lines and customer service."

I have to take this time to THANK- Nick Nash for being a total rock star and wonderful Sales Director! He was amazing and I often heard how much everyone loved him. Nick holds a very special place in my heart. He was so dedicated and believed in me and my passion/designs. Nick is in full school time and will be starting LAW SCHOOL. So proud of him! Thank you so much Nick. I am forever grateful and will truly miss working with you.

Now, Brian is the new sales director. He recently graduated from college and he came on at such a BUSY time of year. Our office is non-stop crazy busy. He is so nice, excited and really happy... I look forward to working with him. So we are going through a little transition stage. I am so happy that we found someone so wonderful as Brian to come on board.

PS... some really wonderful things are happening.

Where do you find inspiration?

I have been on a creative roll. I can't even sleep at night. I think of new designs nonstop. I can't shut it off. As a product designer I am often asked how I find inspiration. I thought I would share a little about the process for me.

I am really inspired by my surroundings. I am very visual so I love to go shopping, look at clothing catalogs, and watch for upcoming trends. Traveling for me is almost always instant inspiration. I always have a notebook and pen in my purse. I sketch, draw and write down inspiration as soon as it come. I like to walk around and just absorb. My background in Interior Design influences my designs. I always think when designing papers- Could it be wallpaper? Could it be fabric? Could it be framed and put in a home? I find myself at stores like Z Galleria, Pottery Barn, Gatehouse No.1, Home Goods etc. I then think about "the story." What is the story or message of a particular line? I love typography. I love the beauty of fonts and definitely am particular with which ones I like and will use while designing.

Example- Far & Away collection-

FAR & AWAY journal book cover

I was in Portugal teaching and I fell in LOVE with the country. I loved the tile work. I loved the buildings and artwork. It inspired the blues and grays with the pop of red for this line.

For me the color for a collection is usually my starting point. I grativitate toward traditional, classic and timeless designs. However, I know in order to grow as a designer, owner and artist you must evolve. Sometimes you have to take risks. I always follow my heart in my designs and what I bring to the crafting industry. After thousands of papers designed and many years, I still love what I do. I am passionate about the process. It's weird but you just KNOW when you've done a line that "makes you tingle" and will do well. If I did a line and did not feel this way then I would not manufacture it. Again, if I don't love it and want to create with it- how can I expect my customers to?

It is a different process when I design a project or layout. I would LOVE to know what inspires YOU? Is it the product first or the photos? I would love your thoughts...

Today I am sharing my design team projects from their blog.

SHE SAID collection by Julie Jacob. Okay, this is so fresh! That is my new word for what I am loving right now. It's crisp, clean and shows the beautiful colors in the line. I simply love Julie's stitching!!!

She said: papers, decorative tape, die cuts, chipboard, file folder, enamel dots, stickers and borders.

Screen shot 2013-01-29 at 10.09.09 PM

This cute banner is with the MEMORIES collection mixed with SHE SAID. Rachel McAffee does stunning home decor. I really love how she mixed two different collections.

Screen shot 2013-01-29 at 10.10.39 PM

Here is SHE SAID collection tag designed by Sesil Cratin. She is the Education Director for my company. Honestly, she does so much more. We talk almost every day on all the day to day operations and she allows me to focus on designing. I love her cards and tags- she has mad skills. Screen shot 2013-01-29 at 10.12.11 PM

This project is by Dedra Hall. She is using SHE SAID for her book. We had this book at CHA in the booth. Dedra does books like no one else. She is clever and innovative with what she does with the products. She loved being different and I find her so inspiring. I love how she used the SHE SAID buttons (put a gem inside), enamel dots (so random), and the file folders (added stitching) to her page. Okay... she designs outside of the box!

Screen shot 2013-01-29 at 10.13.39 PM

This is the new MEMORIES collection. This stunning layout is from Suzanne Sergi. I love how she used the stitched garland in two places. Yes, even inside the doily. I think she is pro at layering and balance.

So if you are wanting to find more inspiration- make sure you subscribe to my design team's blog-

Hope you have a GREAT day! I am home designing today, having another conference call (I have these almost daily) from my home- it's crazy snowing today and I will not be driving today. Each week, I have most days where I work from home and then maybe two each week that I spend at my office. I love the office, but I get distracted by all the commotion and talk too much there. Just like I was in Jr. High School- go figure....

Are you organized?

I must admit... I have a problem. I love my crafting supplies. I buy products that I love so much that I can't "let myself" use it. Do you face this problem?

Today on my show segment for I am sharing how I display and organize my scrapbook supplies.

"Do you want to know how I organize and keeps all my crafting supplies? Today I am sharing my tips and tricks on organization and how to keep your items on display so that your are constantly inspired. Learn how to display and organize all your favorite products."

Watch my video show today at

This weekend was so much fun. I loved spending time with the girls who came to visit from college. They even went to church with us. I am so fortunate to have been blessed with five children by birth and two bonus sons. I love our large family!!!!

We had dinner and then Gentry and I did so much wedding planning. Her style is so similar to mine that it's scary! Let's just say there will be rose gold glitter, sequins, sparklers and poms adorning the reception center. She is getting married in the Draper LDS Temple and her reception will be later that night at a beautiful reception center. Gentry found the most beautiful dress online  and we are having it custom made for her. It was actually so reasonable that we could not believe it! I can't wait to show it to you. It really does pay to shop around.
*update from Taylor- "He is doing so much better! In fact I just got back from the vet who said it is unbelievable how well he is doing. She was certain when she saw him yesterday we would be putting him down. She has no idea how he is doing so much better! I think there were a lot of prayers involved in helping him get better and a Heavenly Father who knew how much I need him. We aren't out of the wood yet but I have my fingers crossed!"

My son is a snowboarder....

My son Ty is in love...

with snowboarding.

Good thing we live in Utah.

He goes to the ski resort as much as he can. Seth and Ty go

together since they both have a season pass. They actually went up to the ski resort this morning. Not only does Ty love it... he LOVES to film it and then spends hours putting together videos of the day. I love that he is being creative!

He loves to make videos with his Go Pro. Okay... I am sharing his talent and love. I hope you will watch it. Ty would love it!!!!! I love that they put the falls and oops on the video too. Gotta love technology!

I love that Seth takes him each week. So really my son's snowboard. I love them both.

Happy Saturday- we are waiting and watching to see if little Koda improves. The neurologist thinks he might have meningitis. Thanks you so much for your advice and support. Today we are meeting with a potential wedding photographer. Excited to have Gentry and Devan come home. They are both so busy with college and work. I love weekends with family!

Facing hard times...

I think in life we are faced with many sad and hard times. I want and choose to believe they are given to us to truly help us and those around us. We all suffer at times. I think for me, I grew up in a home where my mother suffered from severe depression. I can remember that this was here TRIAL from the earliest memories of her and sadly up until her death.

I would not be honest if I did not tell you that I was scared. Was I going to be like my mother? Was I going to be the mom who was always asleep, in bed or not able to drive?

I remember being in Jr. High. I had made the cheerleading squad. This was really a little miracle. I was never coordinated and I was REALLY shy. I remember trying out for the week in the sunny courtyard at the school- Grandview Jr. High. Oh, I wanted this so much.

My mom did not drive for about five years during this time in my life. I had to stay after school (which meant I missed the school bus) for try outs every day. When practice was over I had to walk home from practice alone as it was getting dark. It was several miles and took me about an hour 1/2 to get home. I was SCARED that a car would stop and try to take me. I was SCARED of the dark. I was SCARED that my friends would find out about my mother not picking me up and why. I was SCARED because I felt so alone.

I made the cheerleading squad. I was OVER THE MOON happy! It was a hard time in our family and my life. I was starting to suffer from weight issues (in my head), my parents got divorced and my dad divorced me as well... I won't bore you with the sadness. I don't share much about that time in my life, but I will be honest and say I had a really sad childhood and faced things no child should have to face.

I walked home from school for months alone. I decided to use this time to "DREAM." I would dream about my STAR crushes, my dreams to be a mommy something and a wife...I used these walks in a positive way.

However, God gave me something DEEP in my soul. I always KNEW that HE loved me and I felt it. I knew that I was going to OVERCOME the trials and learn from them. I don't know how or why but I always KNEW I was going to grow up and change my life for a better. I decided as a young 16 year old that my trials were to "refine" me. I could choose the outlook and how I learned from each trial.

I learned so much. I learned to be a strong woman who loved herself even when he own father could not. I learned that my issues with weight were there to remind me that I was never gonna be perfect and that's okay. I am like everyone else. I needed to be humble in all things in life. I learned that kindness began with me. I learned that when people hurt me, that I needed to forgive and let it go. I truly am a peace maker at heart and I realized I can't change who I am. I accepted myself and knew to truly love anyone we need to first love WHO WE ARE first.

Okay... now... I hope you are not asleep...

I felt prompted to share this story today... for my daughter Taylor. She called me last night. Her dog Koda has been sick for four days. Then last night took a really bad turn for the worse. Taylor and her dad took her sweet dog to the vet. Honestly, it is not looking good. He has liver problems and neurological issues. She is going to a specialist today. She cannot afford this but she needs to have peace and know she did as much as she possibly can.

She called me this morning crying so hard that she could not talk. She hung up. I waited and gave her time. I called her back and she immediately started to cry. Her heart is tender and sad. At one point, she was even mad. Why????????? would God do this to Koda and her were rambling thoughts.

She has had her little dog for 1 year and 9 months from the time he was a puppy. When Taylor divorced and even before he was her baby. He sat on her lap daily as she cried about the divorce. Koda is her world. So she is in a lot of pain. I told Taylor this morning that I feel like KODA was given to her to help her. No matter what happens and if he dies that she must be thankful for having had him and celebrate what he did for her. Look at the blessing of Koda in your life. God sent him to you. I knew it and felt it. We both cried. I know that if it's Kodas time to go that this trial will be hard, but she can and will eventually be okay again.

I love you Taylor.

There are 33 stamps total. They are rubber cling mount stamps that are exclusively designed and sold to Joann's. As you know I do my clear stamps as a company and will continue to do so. I am so thankful for the opportunity to design with Fiskars. They are an upstanding crafting company and just in case you are wondering...

STAY TUNED for more good things and products with Fiskars and Teresa Collins. I am beyond thrilled to share the news and my excitement. I have had the BEST year and am so grateful to be able to partner and design such great things with companies that I love, support, and believe in their product. My company has not only survived, but thrived in a hard economy. It is something each day that I am thankful for. I consider myself truly blessed.

It was a good day....

I have had a very busy past couple of days. I am happy to say that our visits to the orthodontist are now almost over. Yes, all of our kids (except Matt) have had braces. It was a good day to have Ty's taken off. I admit, I have been known to miss some (many) appointments over the last 9 years of appointments with each of the kids. I really appreciate that they decided to start texting the patients with reminder calls.

I am working on gets my upcoming workshop kits and products sorted for Taylor to kit, designing new collections, and working on wedding stuff. Oh, and trying to get receipts/taxes for 2012 sorted and ready for the accountant.

I like being creative so much more.

Yes, I am really enjoying Stationary noted and how it is perfect for "love" projects for Gentry and Devan. I'm crazy in love with Gentry's vision of her wedding. She is so creative and way more stylish then I ever was at her age.

PS...I am a "little"- actually a lot in love with instagram.

I was a little nervous all day yesterday as Zach started his "new" old jr. high. He recieved a very warm welcome by his new teachers and friends. He even has gym class with Ty. They are one grade apart/ 14 months in age. I loved that they can share this experience.

I picked the boys up from school and they were surrounded by friends. They came home and Zach had to rush with his dad to get to a baseball showcase at the academy. He was smiling, happy and I was so grateful. What a great day!!!!

After he was done with the showcase, he looked at his phone. It was about 7pm and he had 20 messages on Snap Chat. They all came at once from some of his "friends" from the school he left. They all were telling him that he was "an idiot." Oh my...

Zach came home and told me about it. I was unsure what to say. I thought for a moment and didn't quite know what to tell him. I was shocked!  Finally, I told him I loved him and not to allow them to upset him. Anyone who deliberately would want to hurt someone is someone you are better off not being around. He is such a peace maker and so he decided not to engage them by responding. What would you have done?

I wanted to share the working link to My Craft Show segment this week and to let you know that you can also watch a "entertaining" interview with Kristine McKay.

Some announcements...

CHA is now almost over by a week and now I am preparing to go visit and teach at some amazing stores. I am headed South... yes, I am going to teach brand new workshops in Fredericksburg, Virginia on March 1st and 2nd and Cummings, GA March 8th and 9th. I will be at The Scrapbooking Studio in Bloomington, IL on February 8th.

I have been wanting to try to teach more on the East Coast. I want to support all my independent stores. Since I live in Utah it is tricky to get the time needed with long flights and a busy family and business to run. However, I make the time to teach because it's so important to me. I am so passionate about teaching and sharing my story. If by sharing... I inspire others to craft, create and remember/document then I have done what I love most.

I share on my blog from my heart and I love the opportunity to visit the stores and meet the fabulous crafters who support the stores and events. I love to meet the teachers at the stores. These stores are such a vital part of the crafting industry. Each store has to sell a lot of paper to cover the expenses each month. They are the ones who are offering workshops and classes and on going inspiration. I am humbled and blessed to be asked to attend these events. If we do not support our stores they will go away.

I am so fortunate to be close friends with many of the store owners. I want to support them and encourage each of you to do the same.

I also have a added a new IN HOUSE design team specialist to work with our education program and Sesil. I want to introduce you to Brett Lund.
About Brett-
I have been crafting since I was young. It wasn't until about 10 years ago that I really took crafting serious. I noticed a position with a local craft store teaching classes and designing projects for them. I applied for the position, and I got it. I started teaching scrapbooking classes-anything from scrapbook to card making, to home decor to altered mixed media. I continued to work for them and they asked me to start working with them when they would go to conventions, I would teach the classes to the people at the conventions. In addition to teaching classes, I did bi-weekly t.v. spots on one of the local t.v. stations. I kept up doing classes, t.v. spots, in store demonstrations, and videos on youtube until 2010. I decided that I wanted to focus my efforts on starting and things took off for me with my site. I continue to teach classes at local scrapbook stores, and I love working with people. I consider it my "natural high." I love teaching people about crafts.
I  have crafted in many mediums, but my most favorite is altered art. I love to design books, and cards. I love stamping and I love making my own stamps. I'm an avid Cricut user, and I like making interactive things in my art. My style of design is a clean, crisp style. I'm not so much into grunge. I love the crispness that Teresa Collins Designs constantly displays, and I love using color in my projects.
Here are a few of Bretts projects with the new collections.

This book is so dimensional using the new Far & Away collection-

Welcome to the team Brett. We are thrilled to have you working with us.
Have a fabulous day!!!!!

These are the days....

This weekend was a long weekend. Gentry enjoyed some time with Devan and his parents at a basketball game. I am so happy that she is marrying into a fabulous family. They like to play games as a family and so she loves this. I love that they treat like family already. Gentry spends so much time with Devan when she is not studying or in class. I am so okay with this. We talk every day and we are working on the wedding plans via emails and phone calls. She is going for classic and chic. I love that she is doing so many "hand crafted" items for the wedding.

Since McKay did not have school today, she came home for two days. I simply love that she came to church with us and brought her two "besties" Josilyn and Taylor Ann. This girl has so many wonderful friends in her life. She got a new camera for Christmas since hers was stolen a few months ago. She shared her latest photos from college life with me today.

They go to school in Provo, Utah. It is where I went to college too. It's small and some people don't like the "bubble." However, McKay LOVES it. They find fun things to do and she has a large group of good friends.

Right after church, I asked them if I could take a photo. I have no doubts that they will be life long friends.

These two girls have been best friends since 7th grade. They room together now. They even share a bedroom. They are getting along great and even "share" their jewelry.

I was worried that they shouldn't room together, but it hasn't been a problem at all.

Yes, they find things to do. Like going to the frozen duck pond. I am so thankful McKay is taking photos.

Yes, funny photos of her guy pals...

Now if only I could get them to scrapbook. For now, I am doing it for her. They love Snap Chat, but I'm not a fan.

Last night, we had a overnight party at our house. The girls wore footed zip up pjs and decided to make a movie. I was laughing so hard.

I love that it was almost midnight and they had so much energy. The boys were paying no attention. Fun times at the age of 18!!!!!

I am pretty excited. Ty is getting his braces off today. Another step that he is growing up.

Today on My Craft Channel, I did a segment on how to display your photos in your home or office.

Family Photo Display

"I love the display trays that you simply add your photos inside. I love how you can add so many embellishments and photos too. Today I will share one that created one that is like my "family crest." I even painted the tray and added thoughts and meaning along with my photos. As seen in my Teresa Collins Signature Idea Book with Northridge Media. I will share my teenage son's photo display from his bedroom. You are never too young to start!"

Hope you have a wonderful Monday!!!!

Don't miss this....

Okay... I have to say I felt so uplifted by each of you and your comments. Zach was so nervous when I picked him up from school. He had to go to each class and check out (get his teachers to sign the sheet). Each asked why he was leaving. I could tell it was hard for him. It was weird taking him home and not to baseball practice at Cottonwood. I heard from many of tha parents. They were so kind and supportive.

This morning he went to do service with his friends at the soup kitchen.

Zach is just one of those boys who is first to go help and serve others. I hope he will always remember the good feeling that helping others offer.

He will start Tuesday back at the school by our home. I am positive that this was the right decision.

I wanted to share a video that Stacy from my design team produced. I think you will find it inspiring. She was using my new collection- Far & Away.

Hope you are having a great weekend!

Following our heart....

I am home from CHA. I have been so busy with such a successful show that I apologize for the lack of updates. It was beyond my dreams at the reactions and orders. It humbles me and makes me so thankful for the huge support. I do not take it for granted. I want my lines to sell not because of my "name" or a following but because I design quality, beautiful products that crafters want to use. It really matters to me. I promise to post more photos.

Today I have to share my personal life right now. I am emotional and conflicted right now. My family had to make a big decision this last week. I am praying it was the right one. In my heart, I do feel peace.

Today I am going to the schools that Zach attends and take him out of the schools. He will no longer be going to Cottonwood High School next year or playing for their wonderful baseball program. This baseball program is amazing... they have the best facilities and work out program. It is known for the successful program in Utah. They have some pretty great coaches. It would be a great place for Zach and his talents.

The kids on thanksgiving

The problem is that Zach simply has been miserable. He changed schools two years ago to go to Cottonwood (after Jr. High). He takes his Physics/Math class (one period a day) at Cottonwood and the rest of his classes at the Jr. High. He went to the school basically knowing one friend. He went and honestly gave it a try. After the first year, he begged us to go back to his old school. He just never felt it was the right place for him. We encouraged him to give it time. He tried and yet it was just hard to see him "not be himself" anymore. He is a shy kid and I'm sure that did not help with his transition.

When it comes down to it, Zach has had this same core of friends from birth, preschool, elementary school and he left them to go to this new school. He really missed his friends and the closeness. It was where he felt the most included, loved and accepted. Funny, he was super outgoing at this last school.

It is hard when you have a kid like Zach who excels at baseball and academics. He did not have many classes with any of his baseball friends. I guess you could say... he felt like it was not for him. He often felts excluded by not knowing the kids.

He would come to me so sad and finally I knew that going to a school for a baseball was not going to be best for him. It broke my heart. One day I was picking him up for baseball carpool- all the boys crowded into the other carpool drivers car (like 6-7 boys) and I drove Zach alone to the high school for baseball practice. I dropped him off and cried as I drove home. I felt the pain he was feeling. I KNEW that day a couple weeks ago that Zach was right. He needed to go back to the same school where our son Ty goes.

Yes, the high school he will go to DOES NOT have the things that Cottonwood has for the baseball program. However, this has nothing to do with baseball anymore... it's about my son. We love him too much to see him sad and missing his lifelong friends. I want you to know that the boys were not mean to him, he was not bullied, he will miss many of them. He feels bad to leave them. Zach just knew he would enjoy high school on a greater level by going back.

As I went to Cottonwood High School this morning, I had to check him out of the one class he took there. The counseler printed out the sheet and commented, "Wow, your son has well over 100% in Physics & Calculus- impressive." I started to have tears in my eyes. I so appreciate this opportunity and time. I wish Zach had felt differently.

What is most important is giving our children a home and opportunities to thrive and feel valued. I pray that we have made the right decision. I know that he will be happier with his many friends. Playing baseball is a passion for him... even if it's not at on "the best" team. It really doesn't matter. I am on my way to check him out of his Jr. High now... his last day there.

PS Being a parent is hard. I wish I knew we were making the right decision. I hope the parents at Cottonwood will know we love them and their boys. Truly, what a great group of boys and parents. I truly am heartbroken to leave this circle of friends. The boys will find out today at baseball that Zach is no longer going to be with them. This is a hard day for Zach and our family.

I love you Zach... and I support you 1,000% in all that you do. I am so proud of you and the young man that you are.

Debuting another CHA release- Memories

I am here in the hotel room in Anaheim, CA. It is time for today to set up the booth for CHA. The next two days will be building and decorating the booth for the show that starts on Saturday. I have Taylor and Gentry here to work the show with me... along with Nick and Jared my sales directors. I am so happy to be here. This is what I love...

So my last collection to share is special to me. It is called MEMORIES-past, present and future. I wanted to do a line that would help preserve our memories. I was inspired one day when I was home thinking and missing my mother. I could not sleep and felt inspired to do this line in her memory.

So here is the collection-

All about the boys.... CHA debut- He Said

I travel and teach quite a bit. I am often asked the following question. Why is everything designed for "girls" in the crafting world? I spoke to a mother who had only boys and after we spoke I decided to do a boy line. The vision was for a boy line that was vibrant, fun and easy to use. I have boys and I LOVE this line. Am I allowed to say that?

Here are the 6 double sided papers-

How about some design inspiration? The images above for some reason are showing the papers washed out. So the colors show up much better on the projects below...

1.HE SAID- HENRY (best)

I wanted to really mix up the products on this layout of Henry (one of my best friends son). *paper, diecut, brads, enametls, sticky notes, and photo corners.

2. HE SAID- MY GUY cover book

*I really am having some serious fun with the stickers for the line. I was inspired by the orange, gray, red and tans in this line.

2. HE SAID- upclose book cover

*sticker tabs

Next, I covered a notebook with one of the papers. So simply... a notebook to "takes notes."

Another Debut CHA- She Said

It is time for another debut...

I had in my head that I wanted a line that was youthful, ageless and fun! I wanted a collection that was for both girls and guys. So... ta da....

Screen shot 2013-01-07 at 10.28.13 PM

It actually is one collection that is divided into two different themes. Meaning it is both a boy line and girl line. I have boys and I really wanted to do a line for my boys. The collection is so versatile. I love the richness of color. Each collection comes with 6 papers that are double sided heavy weight textured paper.

Today I will show the SHE SAID girl products...

Screen shot 2013-01-07 at 10.28.43 PM

Again, these little images just do not show the detail and color well enough.

Screen shot 2013-01-07 at 10.34.35 PM

I will show just some of the embellishments- there is MORE that I am not showing.

Again, this is not all of the products. This line is really great for girls of any age. I love the color mixture of the pinks, greens, yellow, white, etc. This line quickly became a favorite of mine.

Here are some projects that I designed with the collection-

3. SHE SAID - TAYLOR love you madly layout

3. SHE SAID- accordion book 3x4

Love the notecard paper... it's a fave of mine! I created a mini accordion book with one sheet of paper. (medallion: Vintage Finds)

4. SHE SAID- take note photo frame

I think a big favorite is the file folders and stitched garland that I used for this project.

New CHA- Debuting Stationery noted

I have a confession. This line took about a year and 1/2 to debut. It was in my head for a long time. I knew I needed to incorportate my LOVE for office and journaling in a line. I wanted lots of notecards, notebooks, envelopes, file folders, corner rounders and THIS line is PERFECT to use for ANY theme. It is absolutely stunning and my daughter's Gentry's favorite!

Screen shot 2013-01-05 at 11.27.33 PM

Today I am talking/sharing in church. I am sharing how something IMPOSSIBLE in my life became possible. I have prayed all week to know what story to share. I have decided to share my story of my stroke and how walking, talking and having faith I would survive this challenge.

I was only 30 years old and 7 months pregnant with my last baby. I remember the doctor saying, they did not know if I would survive the night. I prayed to be allowed to live and raise my kids. I really pleaded with God for the opportunity to see my family one last time and tell them that I love them. Nothing else mattered that night in the hospital.

I know without a doubt that God still had plans for me. I am so thankful to be alive. It took me years to feel somewhat "normal" again... but I believed that I could overcome my struggles through my faith. I had special witnesses of God and knowing that HE is real and truly knows each of us personally.
I had no idea what God had in store for me. I would have never thought I would start my own scrapbook company and be able to share my story. I lost my mother after my stroke and I truly learned at a young age what truly matters most in life. It certainly is not things! It is the LOVE that we establish on this earth. It is trying to be the best person we can be and helping others on the way. I live each day with gratitude- profound gratitude- for every single moment of my life. Success is LOVE and all the rest is just BONUS!!!!
Thank you for following me. I am always amazed at the personal love and support I feel from you. I am just a goofy girl who loves to share my passion for life, my family and creating.

I am a firm believer in life that things we think are IMPOSSIBLE are truly possible.
Today I am emotional and thankful for my children. McKay and Gentry go back to BYU today. Oh my heart is tender... I was born to be a mother and wife.
I am truly thankful to be alive and to see this day.
Hope you have a wonderful Sunday!
*tomorrow I am sharing STATIONERY NOTED collection and doing a PRIZE!!!

Thank you for your comments on my blog and facebook, instagram and emails. I am doing videos with this release so you can actually see the darling NEW items that I am debuting. I read every single comment and really appreciate the feedback. Sounds like you like my additions.

The file folders, envelopes, sticky notes, garlands, etc. are so cool. I was heavily influenced by "office" this release but they are different than anything I've ever seen- so I hope you will love them!

I am home so crazy busy creating for CHA and my upcoming workshops. I am looking forward to CA next week. It was 3 degrees this morning when I took Zach to school. PS I am not a fan of the cold!!!!

So expect videos and a BIG contest is going to be announced soon to go with my new products. It is way fun!!!!

I am going to debut another line on MONDAY so stay tuned. Oh, and the winner of the FAR & AWAY debut was: Wendy Carter. Please email your address and info. THANK YOU!

Today I had to share something really special in our family-

Gentry Card!
This is Gentry's SAVE THE DATE postcard that was sent out to our family. Yes, it's official May 21st 2013. They are getting married in the Draper LDS Temple and the reception is in the evening. Taylor took this photo at Murray Park on Thanksgiving. (thank you Donna for doing the postcards!!!!)

They are so in love! I have to say that Devan is MORE than I could ever ask for in a son in law. He is good to the core and truly loves my girl. They are so sweet and happy! Congrats Gentry and Devan for both making straight A's last semester at BYU. Maybe being engaged focuses you more? Well, Devan was already on track... Gentry's grades have improved a bit. ha!

It is going to be a wonderful celebration.

PS I miss Matt and his family. Thank goodness for Skype, Instagram, facebook and texting to keep us informed. They are coming home for Seth's mission farewell and the wedding. I am really giddy. Azalea is walking and we missed it... however, they are very happy there so that is good.

Okay... got to go design some more fun projects. It's time for sugar free hot chocolate, listening to my Taylor Swift (Red) CD and getting creative!!!

I am loving the 12x12 chipboard set... and die cut sheet. I put so many titles and journaling prompts in this line. This line was inspired by my trip to Portugal. I loved the country and wanted to design a line that is UNIVERSAL travel. You can use it for any trip!!!!

1. FAR & AWAY- Portugal layout

This was a great trip!!!!! Thank you Patricia for inviting me to come to your beautiful event.

1. FAR & AWAY- travel gold frame

I created a frame with the papers, garland and die cut sheet. I loved the script paper in this line. It is timeless and I want to use it as wallpaper.

I hope you like my first sneak peek of my new travel line.

TODAY I am giving someone the entire collection of FAR & AWAY paper and an assortment of the accessories.  Just post on my blog to win!!!

Good luck!!!!

I hope you like my new line...

It's 2013- HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

I am so happy and thankful to be alive. I don't say that lightly. I live each day with appreciation. I know life is always going to throw us curves. I know that 2012 was fabulous and yes, there were challenges.

We celebrated last night at home with our kids (some went to celebrate with friends), playing games, making bridemaid's bouquets (Gentry is AMAZING!!!!), getting pizza and watching the celebration on TV. So very much to look forward to in 2013!!!!

Did I mention that my camera needs to be shipped back to Canon? I'm thankful to have my phone camera...

Gentry's flowers made out of book pages. They are gorgeous but take FOREVER!!!!

Yes, the kids are wearing shorts and it is freezing outside. Oh, and yes, that is Zach's bike in the house. Welcome to my life. Did I mention Ty was snowboarding all day? He loves it. I love that he is has a talent to make films. He has a GoPro and films himself and edits the videos to share with us when he gets home. How did our young kids know how to do some many amazing things with technology? It amazes me...

I love that the kids wanted to spend time with me bringing in 2013. Such a great low key night! I have never done the WORD for a year. You know the word that you focus on for a year. I got up this morning and thought of it. Last year I did have a word BUT I did not realize it until about 6 months into the year. It was ACCEPTANCE. It was for me personally. Accepting myself as  I am and I thought about it every day. This year I want to continue to work on bettering myself, my attitudes and who I am to the core of a person.

I am going to go with TIME. I want to spend even more TIME focusing on what really matters. For me I know I must choose my time wisely. I want to spend more quality time with my family and my friends. I want to spend less TIME on things that don't matter. I want to spend more TIME reading good books, scriptures and serving others. I know that time to precious- each day is a gift. Anyway, TIME is something I will be talking about. I already do, but hopefully I will be able to share more.

I wanted to share a project from my brand new release- yes, next week is CHA! I am teaching this project next week at OH SCRAP and AGAIN in February in Illinois. It is a combination of TWO of my five releases.

Here is the project- did I mention it is 32 pages????

The workshop is called MEMORY JOURNAL- I never want to forget.

I am in LOVE with my new collections. This is my MEMORIES collection mixed with my SHE SAID collection.

UPCLOSE of the cover-

This line is beautiful and colorful but still very true to my style. I love the meaning and that the lines are designed to help preserve memories from today, yesterday and the past. I thought of my mother as I designed the MEMORIES collection. Yes, the notecards are part of the line, decorative tape (crowns), etc. I'm beyond in love with how my collections turned out.

I want to thank all my California friends for signing up. My first workshop sold out so fast and I added a second workshop and it SOLD OUT too. THANK YOU so much girls! Yes, there are no spots left.

However, I am teaching the same  MEMORY JOURNAL project in February one last time and you can sign up now-

I am so exited to finally after so many months to show you a little bit of my new lines.

Well, it is January 1st and I just had to share another project with you made with the TC Stampmaker. It is so practical, beautiful and meaningful. Designed by Julie Jacob-

Wow... what a wonderful idea!!!!

All of these tabs were created with stamps with the TC Stampmaker from the FREE December download.

Julie's notes:

Materials Used:
Chipboard for covers
Patterned papers, transparencies, vellum paper (various) for inner pages
Bind it All & Coil - Zutter
Tab punch - McGill
TC Stampmaker & December Download (months) - Photocentric
Ink - Tsukineko (VersaFine - Onyx Black)
Washi tapes & various stickers
Cover design - done in Photoshop by Julie (she should sell this!)
Cut chipboard and all inner pages to 5" x 7".  (You can get 3 from a 12"x12" paper)...but for this I really raided my scrap drawer.
I didn't want the inner pages to be matchy...anything goes.  I included papers, vellum paper, can add whatever you want!

This book is going to be something of a gratitude journal for I stuck to papers for the most part. I designed the cover of my book in Photoshop and printed it off.  Then I adhered it to a chipboard cover.

Next I punched all the holes and bound my book with the Bind it All.

Using a tab punch, I punched 12 from various papers...and stamped them with the month stamps.
Then I adhered them in my book.

Embellish the inner pages with whatever you have on hand.  I'm fond of washi I used lots of that. :)" julie jacob
Okay... don't we all agree that she is amazing? I love it. What a great project to do.

The winner of my MEMORY JAR 2013 is:

Dawna said:
Hi Teresa, As mothers it always saddens us when our children have to go through difficult times. I'm glad she's coping well and gaining personal strength through the process. She's very lucky to have such a loving family to help her through it! I so loved your "Memory Jar" idea, so if I'm not lucky enough to win this time around, I'll have to do one up for my family! Thank you for all the wonderful collections and inspiration this year! I look forward to meeting you at "Oh Scrap" for the Jan. 10th 2013 class! Can't wait to see what you've got in store for us!
Please email

This is what the show segment was about-

Do you want to remember all the special moments and things that make you smile? I
used clear Apothocary Jars(you can use Mason Jars) that are displayed and kept close by at home with a notepad and pencil inside.

Each time you have a special memory or something that makes you smile- write it down and put in the glass jar. This is a jar of memories. On the next New Years Eve open and reread all the wonderful memories that you want to remember and that made 2013 so fabulous! Remember, it's worth REMEMBERING!!!!

This is the MEMORY JAR that I gave away. Thank you for watching my weekly show on My Craft Channel.

Some of the other jars shown on my show.

I am so grateful to be able to do these shows. I love hearing all your feedback and appreciate your support!

 Happy NEW YEAR!!!!!
