Having the best time on 2Peas NSD
I am having the best time today. I went to an awesome baby shower this morning. I didn't realize what creative friends I have. Then I moved into the living room with my scrappin' stuff and scrapped a bunch. Now I am posting and reading and posting and reading...
This is my first time to really participate in NSD and now I can't imagine why anyone wouldn't.

In case you haven't heard, it has been raining like crazy in Houston. We had really bad storms yesterday starting around 5 pm and the rain finally stoppped in my area around10:30 am today. At 4 am my DH and I watched the street in front of our house fill with water. Luckily, our house did not flood. School was cancelled so I went for a humid run around the neighborhood. The neighbors on the street next to ours got 3 inches of water in their garages. The water might have gone into their homes as well, but I could only see the water lines on the garage doors. It doesn't look as bad as after Ike, but there is flood damage this time. My dad's cars and garage both got water in them. He lives in the part of Houston that seems to be hit the worst. 90% of the homes in his neighborhood flooded. He said the yards are filled with carpet, padding, and furniture. He is certainly lucky the only water that cames in was in the garage. The worst story yet is the "basement" of my friend's parents has 17 feet of bayou water in it. The "basement" is also the garage/storage area. They had to build up due to the location of their house. They were able to pull the cars out before the flooding started, but they had lots of items from years past down there. I hope it doesn't rain for a couple of days while we dry out. Say a prayer for all of us in Houston.

I did it! I did it! I did it! I posted a layout. I used the March super sketch. It took about ten minutes for me to push the button to publish. What a great day!

I'm not a blogger. In fact, I'm not even sure I know how to do it correctly.
I have been a Pea for a long time. I'm a Pea who always admired others creative works and never displayed any of my own. I'm a Pea who finds inspiration from other Pea layouts, cards, photos, etc. This is how I found Two Peas-surfing the internet for inspiration. This year I decided maybe I should try to be a different type of Pea. After scrapping out of a huge tote for years, always looking for space, waiting for the day I would finally have my own scrap room,I finally have a little nook of my own. It isn't a whole room, just part of a closet but I love it. It is mine. I can finally leave an unfinished layout somewhere and not worry about it until I have time to finish. No more digging for my stamp pads, hold punch, paper... The little nook has led me to be brave about something I have neve done post layouts. I don't know why I have been scared to post them. I thought about it. Every January I would list post a layout as a resolution. This year though will be different, I will be brave enough to show others what I hide in my albums. It may take me a couple of more months but I will do it. I will be the brave person my husband thinks I am.
