Technique Discussion
When I scrapbook digitally one of my favorite techniques is to add drop shadows. In this post I will show you how I add drop shadows to the elements in my layout.
Here is a flower that I want to add to my layout and it does not have a drop shadow:

The first thing I do is to go to my layer palette and click on the layer style button (see the red arrow below):

When you click on the layer style button there will be a drop down menu and one of the items is Drop Shadows. You want to click on Drop Shadows and this layer style window will pop up:

I like to adjust the Opacity, Distance and Size. If it is a raised element like the flower I make the distance and size larger and if it is a flat element then I make them smaller.
Here is the final flower after I have made the adjustments to my settings:
