1 Product, 3 Ways: Paint Dabbers

Hi everyone, this is Tia today with a "1 Product, 3 Ways" technique idea for you!

I chose to highlight the Ranger Paint Dabbers for this technique, showing you three quick and easy (but really cute!) ways you can use these paints as backgrounds for cards, tags, or even layouts.

They come in these really cool bottles that have a sponge dabber applicator built-in to the top.  You simply shake, pounce on a scrap, then paint away.  I looooove these little things!

Idea One:  "Ink" The Edges

Gently drag the sponge applicator along the edges of the paper.  Start first with a lighter color, then when dry, go over it again lightly with a darker version of the same color.  Add chipboard icon to center.

Idea Two:  Painterly Background

Cover the card face with lots of paint dots, then gently use the sponge tip applicator to swipe the paint back and forth across the card face for a "painterly" look.  Start with a lighter color, and then, while still wet, add a touch of a darker color to "blend" together.  Finish with chipboard embellishment when dry.

Idea Three:  Paint Polka-Dots

With your paint dabber,  dab dots randomly onto the background of the card.  Dab several times in one spot to get a lot of paint onto the surface, and then press once more and twist the sponge applicator back and forth to get a nice, round, colorful polka-dot.  Again, use two different colors of paint on top of one another for a deeper color effect.  Finish with chipboard embellishment.

I hope you enjoyed this post and get a chance to play with some paint dabbers now!  Thanks so much!!

tia
