Today's the day for another Designer Spotlight! And this time we have the very talented Michelle Filo (michellefilo)!
Q: What is your favorite Fancy Pants product?
A: Oh, I love all Fancy Pants products, specially things like the felt and transparent die cuts. They are such high quality and proved to be beautiful embellishments for my pages. Collection wise, my all time favorite is About A Boy because of the bright colors, but The Daily Grind and Summer Soiree also follow that trend. Love them!
Q: What is your favorite technique?
A: I love trying new techniques, from doing something on the computer to help my scrapping or making my own stamps to finish off a page. I used to do a lot of distressing, I think it adds dimension to any project, and now I am in love with stitching and recycling. Recycling is about using up all of your supplies, from scraps to packaging. Trying to figure out how to include recycled materials in my pages is such a fun way to sparkle my creativity, I love the results.
Q: Where do you find inspiration?
A: My boys are my inspiration for topics and themes for scrapbooking, after all, I do want to record their lives. Photography has become a big inspiration too, a great photo that doesn't tell a specific story can still evoke and portray so much emotion. I create a lot of pages about my feelings after looking at some nice photos (especially photos of my boys).
Q: If someone was to walk into your scrap room/area right now, what would they find?
A: My scrap area is a big mess. Now that I have a room just for my scrapbooking I don't pack up anymore, so the big table behind my computer has boxes of supplies and scraps that I don't put away. I try to put away my tools to make it easier for me to find them and also because they have a proper place. But with supplies I find it easier to just leave them handy. The only problem is that I have to keep the door closed so the kids (and dog) don't play with my goodies, can you imagine?
Q: What do you listen to or watch while scrapbooking?
A: I used to loooove watching TV while scrapbooking. I used to lay everything on the floor in front of the TV and make a big mess. But hubby didn't enjoy much as he considered that time to be our time together (well, he was right). So scrapbooking is banned from the living room until further notice :)
Thanks for sharing Michelle! It's been fun getting to know you through these questions and your layout!
