Hi everyone! I am Iris Babao Uy and I am so thrilled to be designing for Fancy Pants. When I started scrapbooking, Fancy Pants products were always on my "have to get" list. So to be able to design for this company is a dream come true for me. I have been scrapping for almost 6 years now following the birth of my eldest daughter. I have two girls whom I am crazy about, and a husband who I am still madly in love with (wink wink hubby ... you reading this? lol!). I scrapbook for the pure joy of the creative process and for documenting all the wonderful, silly, memorable moments in our life.
Q: What is your favorite technique?
A: I'm a fussy paper cutting fan! I love to work the papers and create unique designs. I have to say that I start each scrapping session by cutting into a patterned paper. I also love to use mists, paints, stamps, and fabric.
Q: What kind of scrapper would you consider yourself to be?
A: I'm a fast artsy type of scrapper. I like to add details to my pages but I don't stress too much about creating a different look every time I work on a page. I just want to enjoy the process and let the design take on a life of it's own. It's a pleasant surprise every time I finish a page.
Q: Where do you find inspiration?
A: I am mostly inspired by moments and events I want to remember. So I need to have pictures that I love to be able to scrap something worthwhile. I am also inspired by beautiful products. If that is the case, I can even start a page using the products only and will just add a picture later on.
Q: What do you listen to or watch while scrapbooking?
A: I usually get to scrap when my kids are either sleeping or busy watching T.V. So it's either no music (when they are sleeping), or Barney, Dora, SpongeBob music (when they are awake) for me!
Q: What are some other hobbies you enjoy?
A: Is eating considered a hobby? LOL! I love to eat so I also have to burn it off. When I'm not creating pages or taking photos, I'm usually at the gym doing cardio workouts or outside running with my husband.
