For a slightly better view you can look at these quilt pictures on my FLICKR account.

Make a project, card or other creation, inspired by quilts.  You can use the pictures provided as inspiration or just go with the general theme of quilts; traditional quilts, crazy quilts, contemporary ... anything goes.  Techniques and tools are unlimited, inking and stamping, punching, piecing, piercing, templates ...

Have fun with it!

1. Your project must contain some traditional stamping (as opposed to digi), even if it is just a sentiment.

2. Don't forget to check the box for this challenge, WF11 Inspired by Quilts, when you upload a picture of your project to the gallery.

3. Please add a message and a link to your gallery post in the discussion thread in the Stamping Forum.

4. You may submit projects used for multiple challenges as long as they are newly created for Winterfest.

The Samples:

My friend, Barb, and I went to a quilt show a few weeks ago.  The quilts were made by the Martin County Quilters and displayed at the House of Refuge.  A few days after our outing, I saw this punch tutorial by Becca at www.amazingpapergrace.com (you can also check out part 2 and part 3 of the tutorial).  Even though I didn't have the same type of punches, the tutorials and the quilt show inspired these cards.

You can click on the pictures to go to the gallery posts describing these samples.

Sample 2

Here is the punch I used to make the quilt blocks.  I experimented with the size of the white squares to get a punched design I liked.  I cut the purple squares to fit the slots. EK Success Wrought Iron Corner Slot punchEK Success Wrought Iron punched corner

Have fun making a quilt inspired card and please share your technique!
