WF-Hangover Wk Faux pendant Jewelry

Hi Everyone,

I'm Maggie Lamarre and very excited to be sharing an easy way to create jewelry with pieces you already have on hand. Thank you so much for letting me be part of this wonderful event.

Many of us have pieces of jewelry that has not been worn or are missing pieces. This week take them out and give them a new life with the easy tutorial below.

One of my favorite things is to incorporate recycling items in my craft, for the pendant I use cereal boxes, you can use any cardbox for this tutorial. Using the Cricut cartridges to select a frame, if you don't have a Cricut don't worry use any small punch under 1.5".

Your Challenge  this week  is to create your own unique embellishment by using embossing powder, UTEE, Glitter Glue to any stamp item. You can use paper, acrylic, fabric, anything.

Here are a few things to remember:

1.This challenge runs from March 13th to 20th.

2. Add your project onto the gallery by selecting WF Hangover week in the list.

3. Link your project from the gallery to the discussion thread.

Prize for this week!

1 Inkadinkado Inchie stamp to get you started to create your own faux pendant

I can't wait to see what you come up with. Are you ready to get started?

Let's begin!

Heat gun, Utee in any colour except clean, Acrylic paint, brush, Stamp Pink Paislee Parisian Anthology, Iridescent medium, Jump ring, necklaces, Jewelry findings. Cricut Expression, Cake basic cartridge, cereal box cut out, UTEE, Clear embossing ink.

Cut 6 1" small oval frame from Cake basic on the Cricut Machine, or use any punches you own.

coat 3 of the frame w/modpodge layer the other 3 to create a sturdy frame.

Paint the frame with chosen colour, use a heat gun to speed the drying time.

Use any Utee except for clear.

Coat  the frames w/clear embossing ink, Utee, heat, repeat with a second coat. While hot stamp the Utee frame let stand for 30 seconds for a good impression, repeat for the other frame.

Last frame coat with Utee 4 times for a very thick layer. While hot stamp using the pink paislee Parisian Anthology, on the Utee frame let stand for 30 seconds for a good impression, this frame should be different from the other it should be deeper, as seen below on the left.

Faux pendant

Sorry didn't wait for the iridescent to dry before taking the picture.

Brush a coat of iridescent medium with a pinch of acrylic paint to create a shimmer glaze. let dry, use a piercer tool, pierce a hole on top on the 2 frames,  brush modpodge on the frames and  the edges to seal and protect against moisture and rain.  Use the piercer in the hole again to remove the modpodge let dry.

Mixing iridescent medium with any paint will create a beautiful shimmer or you can use it as is to add shimmery glitter look

Add Faux pendant onto the necklace using the jump rings in the center.

Add a second hole the deep embossing frame pierce a hole on the bottom add jump ring, add  jewelry finding at the bottom of the Faux Pendant.

Add remaining findings.

I use the same spacing from the right on the left so it lay perfectly when worn.

Voila done!

Here's a different version using Pearl Ex

I am looking forward to see your projects.

Thank you so much
