Guest Designer: Stacy Cohen

Hi everyone! I’m so honored to be the Guest Designer for Fancy Pants this month! Just a little bit about me...I’m from Los Angeles, California where I live with my husband and our two wonderful little girls, ages 7 and 9. I work part time as a health insurance agent, a career that affords me plenty of family and scrapping time. I started scrapbooking in 2004 and I’ve been addicted ever since. My motto about scrapping is: “It’s cheaper than therapy.” That’s how I justify my ever-growing stash of scrapbook supplies. I’m a very slow scrapper, and it usually takes me three nights to finish a single layout. I love to fuss over the little details and get everything ‘just right’. I currently design for Creating Keepsakes magazine, Prima and Shimmerz.

I had a ball playing with all these fabulous Fancy Pants products! This first page was made with the new Beach Babe line. This line was perfect for some of my Hawaii photos from a few years ago that I never got around to scrapping.

I love the adorable chipboard pieces and die-cuts that are part of this line. It was so much fun to play with these little bits and pieces. I dressed up the little die-cut flip flops with tiny flowers and rhinestones, and I added a little shimmery paint and a rhinestone to the bikini that I cut from one of the papers. I added some real sand for good measure.

Here’s another layout I created with the fabulous Beach Babe line. I love the vibrant, happy colors in this collection.

I used the new Filter Papers to make the large blue flower and the small pink rosettes. I sprayed the Filter Papers with Shimmerz spray mist to color them. I made the roses from the patterned paper using a petal punch.

The new It’s the Little Things line took my breath away when I saw it at CHA. The patterns are so elegant, and the color combo is stunning. I decided to use this line to scrap these pictures of my girls in little victorian dresses. I added some curves, paper curls and crocheting.

I also used this line to make some paper shoes.

I made the big flowers on this first pair with the Paper Filters. I first sprayed them with Shimmerz, then I coated some of the layers with superfine glitter. I used one of the paper flowers (again sprayed with mist) as the center.

This little pair of shoes would be perfect for a night out on the town . . . but sadly, they aren’t my size.

Thank you so much for having me as a guest! It’s been a true pleasure!
