Hi Fancy Pants blog readers! My name is Suzy Plantamura and I am a scrapbook and photography addict. I love collecting supplies, making pages and taking TONS of photos of my family’s life in Southern California. I have been on the Creating Keepsakes Dream Team for the past three years and I design pages for American Crafts and Mambi. I am truly “living my dream” which is why my blog is titled that. I have always loved Fancy Pants products and when I saw the Beach Babe line at CHA, I was instantly smitten! It is so me – lots of bright, happy colors, girly and beach themed. We live in a beach community and I knew I would enjoy using it with our many beach photos. I also loved the It’s The Little Things line because although the colors are more muted than I usually use, the little birdies are so cute, and I love how it has a vintage feel to it.
The It’s The Little Things line seemed like a perfect match for a picture of my sweet dog Mayzie. I used the 100% Cute theme from the paper strip as my title. I cut a circle out of the center of a piece of pink patterned paper and used that as my background over black, tucking my photo underneath it. To make the banner, I took a piece of the striped ribbon and applied glue dot strips to it and folded it over three times so it became more like a thick rope. I then glued it to the top of my layout and added the chipboard banner pieces to it. What I love about this layout is I made it with just a couple of the papers, one set of chipboard banners and the ribbon pack from the line. I didn’t need the entire line to make a cute layout, but there are certainly many MORE cute products in this line I want to get my hands on!
I made this mini album about our many days spent at the beach last summer. I called it Beach Babes because that is the name of the line and it just fit (a mom and two little girls hanging out at the beach - we can call ourselves babes, right?!?)! I made my own mini album using 6x6 pieces of chipboard.
I used the 6x6 pad of paper to cover them. The prints are smaller, so it is perfect for a mini album. I added lots of other embellishments, flowers and ribbons from the line. This album was SO much fun to make because I had so many choices of products to complete it.
My favorite thing in it is the 12x12 transparency pages that I cut into four 6x6 pieces and layered them back to front. The album turned out just the way I wanted it too – happy, bright and girly!
