Today we're going to learn how to make this uber cute tote bag with a step-by-step photo tutorial by Sarah de Guzman:
Supplies: Plastic Rose Brads (85539) - Elements, Galaxy Black (62121) - Markers; Other supplies: Canvas bag, spray mists
Sarah shares, "Brads don't always have to be used for scrapbooking and cardmaking. Feel free to use them in all sorts of crafts. I embellished a simple canvas bag with brads, and it added a whole new look!"
Step 1 - Gather your supplies then pick where you want to design on your bag. Step 2 - Place letters on your bag to create a mask for your mists. I used leftover patterned paper on my Cricut to cut out the word "create". Step 3 - Use a couple of misting sprays to add color to your bag.
Step 4 - Once the mists are dry, peel back the letters to see the imprint that was left behind on the bag.
Step 5 - Add brads to your bag to dress it up. With canvas material, brads are able to poke right through. Note that sometimes the brad backings will snag items on the inside. To avoid this from happening, simply cut the metal prongs off the back and use strong permanent adhesive on the brad.
Ta-da! Simple and easy canvas tote bag!
Your embellished bag is sure to make a statement at your next crop or shopping adventure!
