5+ Photos Wrap Up!

Weekly Wrap-Up Congratulations to the randomly selected winner of their favorite new line, Erica Hettwer:

Summer 2011 Logos Screen Shot 2011-08-05 at 8.05.26 AM We enjoyed hearing what your favorite new line is and are overwhelmed by your love for the new Amy Tangerine line!

To wrap up 5+ Photos week, Michelle Lanning and Amy Tan have created a couple more 5+ photos layouts:

Michelle Supplies: Dandy Paper (35397) - Hello Sunshine, Dainty Paper (35404) - Hello Sunshine, Peppy Paper (35405) - Hello Sunshine, Kraft (71464) - Cardstock, Sunbeam (72011) - Delights, Good Morning (42194) - Remarks, Merry Spinach (53100) - Thickers, Subway Powder (42920) - Thickers

Michelle tells, "For this layout I kept the patterned paper to a minimum and used it instead as embellishments to my layout. I made sure to ground my layout by using the patterned paper across the length of the layout."
AmySupplies: Here and There Paper (35562) - Amy Tangerine, Rose Ave Paper (35551) - Amy Tangerine, Scatter Sunshine Paper (35554) - Amy Tangerine, Lovely Straw (53243) - Thickers, Amy Tangerine Shaped Paper Clips (85566) - Elements, Amy Tangerine Fabric Brads (85567) - Elements, Die Cut Cardstock Shapes (77259) - Bits, Amy (42242) - Remarks, Good Times (42213) - Remarks

Amy advises, "There are lots of software and app options that make it easier to get multiple photos onto a page. I used Snapfish to store and print my photos. They have a neat photo collage option where you can choose as many photos as you want (up to 20) and the size you want the print to be, and they arrange it for you. It's so easy and cost effective."

We've gathered a bunch of tips and tricks from our featured designers this week for working with 5+ photos:

Marcy Penner
says, "I struggle with using more than one or two photos on a page. I really like to have some white space on my pages. (And 2-pagers are even harder for me!) When I have a lot of photos I want to use I find that printing them in a smaller size allows me to have the best of both worlds. A series of photos and room to tell the story and embellish."

Cindy Tobey says, "Place your photos in a grid design. Create a flip book of photos and attach to your page. Add a pocket to your page to place extra photos into."

Michelle Lanning says, "Something that helps me when creating a 2 page layout is to use similar sized photos. All that I printed at 4x6 and it made it much easier to place in the two page layout."

Céline Navarro says, "When you want to make a multi photo layout, I encourage you to print your photos rather small (1x2" is perfect) so that you can use as many photos as you want! Think of fun themes: a day at the beach, your everyday life, the best of your last trip. Make a photo mosaic on Photoshop or any other program that you have on your computer!

Sarah de Guzman says, "When trying to add more photos, cropping them helps out a lot! You can definitely fit more with wallet-sized photos. Use a 1-2" circle punch. Make sure you're punching out the main focus of each of your photos. You'll be able to fit a handful of photos onto one page."

Amy Tan says, "Especially for events, it's nice to have a variety of photos. From close up shots to the entire scene and people, it's fun to experiment with different small sizes to really tell the story."

We hope you've enjoyed seeing how you can incorporate lots of photos on your layouts to showcase your speical memories! A brand new week of fun and inspiration continues right here again on Monday!
