We're moving right along in our week exploring holiday card ideas using Unity stamps. Today Unity Design Team Member Maren shares a set of cards with us, as well as her the process behind her designs. Scroll down to the bottom of this post for a special challenge and a chance to win some brand NEW Unity stamps!
Maren let the elegant script sentiments and festive icons of a holiday stamp set take center stage, while giving them backgrounds that showcase the stunning designs of Basic Grey's Nordic Holiday collection.
Here is a little more from Maren:
Before starting, I make sure I have enough of the basics; cardstock, stamps, and adhesive.
Think simple. There are little details that you can add later but you want to start with a simple layout. I also tend to break it down throughout a small time frame. For example, Monday- cut cardstock, Tuesday-stamp images, Friday-color image, etc... This streamlines the process and makes it seem less overwhelming.
One of my favorite holiday cards was posted on my blog back in May 2010. I used a flower punch to create a wreath. It was one of those that turns out better than you expect! I love that!

A good paper trimmer is ESSENTIAL! :)
Adding flock on holiday projects is always fun! :)
Thanks so much for joining us, Maren! Now it's time for a challenge. Unity is giving away the set of MLS stamps we saw in yesterday's post - these are brand new and not even in the Two Peas store just yet! Just use Unity stamps in your project and share it with us in the gallery. You have one week to upload it, making sure to check the correct challenge checkbox on Step 4 of the uploading process by 11:59 pm CST next Wednesday the 23rd. We'll announce the challenge winner on Thursday! Have fun!
