A Colorful Christmas with Kandis Smith
.jpg)
Today Garden Girl Kandis Smith walks us through creating a layout using olive greens, rich creams and a beautiful pomegranate red. Her layout and mood board with its plaid patterns and traditional Christmas colors make me want to snuggle up next to a crackling fire and get cozy!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Over the course of our series a Garden Girl will share a color combination, special project and either a tutorial or video walking you through the steps. They've also created a mood board with the products that inspired them.

Kandis' mood board:

1. Parlor Gemini Flowers 2. White Clothespins 3. Calendar Seasons Greetings paper
4. Preppy Plaid 5. Vintage Christmas Stickers 6. Holly products
From Kandis, "I just adore tiny little photos! And when you have an event where you take tons of pictures it makes for the perfect way to display them all! I only chose three of my favorite Christmas Morning photos from last year--but I plan on making another one filled with pictures!

Step 1: Cut down your patterned paper to 8.5X11"

Step 2: Cut a strip of green cardstock and adhere it across your layout. Add a doile to the right hand side.

Step 3: Place your photo strip across doile.
Step 4: Take christmas bingo sticker and slide it slightly under picture strip. Add a button to it with some jute tied through it.
Step 5: Cut a small strip of red patterned paper and adhere above green cardstock. Take a couple different styles of lace and lay them out on your page. I'm going to adhere them on top and bottom of my green cardstock.
Step 6: Take out that pen!! Using your own handwriting... I know--it's scary--but your kids will love it!... write your journaling on the green cardstock. Add number stickers to the top of your photos for the date.
Step 7: Add another red button next to the green one and add two black pearl brads to red strip of patterned paper."
