Step 1 - Gather all your stuff together. You will want your stuff out because this is a fun, messy project. I used a 12x12 canvas for this.
Step1

Step 2 - Paint the outside edges of your canvas cream.
Step2

Step 3 - Pick out all your favorite patterned papers and separate them by color for your rainbow while the paint dries.
Step3

Step 4 - Start punching out shapes. I used a favorite heart punch, but you could use stars or butterflies or some other favorite shape. Keep them grouped by color.
Step4

Step 5 - Sketch the rainbow on your canvas. Don't worry if it is not perfect, it will be covered up.
Step5

Step 6 - Start layering your hearts (or other shape). Mod podge both under and over the shape for a secure hold.

Step6-7

Step 7 - Trim the parts that hang over the edge of your canvas.
Step7

Step 8 - Find the center of your canvas. Mark it and then go ahead and cut it. You need about a 1/4" place for your clock parts to come through.
Step8

Step 9 - Place the clock numbers around the canvas.
Step9

Step 10 - Embellish! This is the fun part. Just remember to use that mod podge liberally for a secure stick!
Step10

Step 11 - Lightly paint over everything with watered down paint to tone down the color if you want to. This is a personal preference, of course. I did it so the "numbers" would show up more and so I could add some paint splotches here and there.
Step11

Step 12 - Install the clock hands.

And there you have it! A cool rainbow quilt clock!
