Love the tactile quality of ribbons and trim? Are you sometimes stumped at how to use them? Our Pocket Chicks, Betsy Veldman and Pamela Young came up with some clever uses for one of our newest ribbon sets from our Summer Soul collection. Take a look! I think you'll be inspired!
Ribbon Butterflies card by Betsy Veldman
Betsy says, "This super wide ribbon is perfect for diecutting shapes! To do this, I backed the ribbon with some iron on stabilizer, then ran it through my diecut machine. It's a fun way to create some unique embellishments!"
Ribbon Flower Be You card by Betsy Veldman
Betsy explains, "For this card I used that same jumbo striped ribbon. This time I cut a length of ribbon and stitched the two ends together. I then hand-stitched along one long edge and pulled the threads tight to gather it into a flower. I topped it off with a button and clear epoxy sticker. The leaves were handcut from patterned paper."
Gone Cruisin' by Pamela Young
Pamela says, "I tucked bits of ribbon behind my paper and folded them over creating a border of loops on top and bottom. I also used a couple little pieces of the surf babe ribbon in a couple spots to add to the design. I really love the way the brown paper goes with the bright colors in the Summer Soul collection."
Aren't these ideas great? You gotta love that super-wide ribbon! So cute! We hope you've enjoyed these creations. Please come back again on Friday. We've got another Guest Designer visiting our blog. This time, it's Emily Pitts!!!
