Product Spotlight: Summer Soul Brag Book Kit

Creating a Brag Book has never been easier! Fancy Pants Designs now has a Brag Book Kit (one to coordinate with each of our new collections)! Each kit contains papers, cards and stickers designed epsecially to kit our Brag Books, making creating a Brag Book in a snap! Check out how Pocket Chicks, Sarah Mllanix and Valerie Sanchez used the Summer Soul Brag Book Kit ... and guess what? You don't have to use the kit for just Brag Books...

Surf, Sun & Fun Brag Book by Sarah Mullanix
Sarah says, "Hello everyone! This time of year we are all suffering from Spring/Summer fever, and many
of us cure ourselves by heading off to some fantastic warm weather beaches for Spring Break. This year, my daughter is one of those lucky individuals basking in the Florida sunshine. I thought that it would be nice if when she came home I could give her a special place to house all of her wonderful Spring Break memories and photos. So, I created this mini album for her using Fancy Pants Sand Brag Book along with the Summer Soul Brag Book Product Kit. I also accompanied the kit with pieces from the Summer Soul collection (not included in the Brag Book Kit) such as: rub-ons, transparencies, stickers, and stamps. This book will make saving her Spring Break memories such a breeze. All she will have to do is just pop in her photos and show them off to all her friends."

Valerie Sanchez also used the Brag Book kit for two projects ... and they are not Brag Books. :-)

Post Card Pocket by Valerie Sanchez
Valerie says,"The first project is a pocket card I made for my granddaughter, Piper. I wanted to make the 'cards' that came with the kit into little postcards that she could mail back to her mom and dad when she comes to visit this summer. When she gets back home, she can add them to her scrapbook! I made a basic pocket card out of white cardstock, and then added layers of decorations using the brag book kit. I made a ruffle out of the blue, fussy cut some surfboards, punched some flowers and leaves, added the striped border sticker and some buttons, and voila! For the postcards, I added some scraps to decorate the back and 'block' it out for addresses and a little picture, and even room for her to write something."

Never-Ending Card by Valerie Sanchez
Valerie explains, "For this project, I wanted to make it into a kind of mini-album type card (you can find tutorials on YouTube for this Never-Ending Card). Piper will be able to add pictures of her visit here, and journaling as well. The size is 6" x 6" when finished, so the pictures will be 3" x 3", which is still a good size!  I used white cardstock for the base, to make it stronger, and I wanted more control of where my patterns showed up.

My suggestion is to put your card together, and then start laying out where  you want which patterns and embellishments by 'page'. Fold your card, and do the same with all four layouts. When you are satisfied at how they will go together, start gluing them down.

My 'sand' for the surfboards was created using a tiny scrap, turned over to the white side.  I used a gingerbread ink pad and a ceramic finishing sponge to create 'sand' by lightly dabbing the ink to create little specks of sand."

Great ideas, huh? I love seeing what our Pocket Chicks come up with every week! We have such a talented team!
