I'm hoping to inspire you to quit thinking so hard this week. What do I mean by that? Well, if you scrap anything like I do, you might just agonize a little too much about making the right paper choices. Several years ago there was a thread on the General Scrapping board that had participants choosing random papers for a 9 square block layout. What I remember was how cohesive the pages could look even when the papers were randomly chosen. So, that is the challenge I give you this week. It's a little more difficult to choose randomly in the digital world - but I posted this thread over the weekend asking the first responders to give me random numbers to use in the challenge. The numbers I received are 79,12,32 and 4,9,8.
So here is how it will work: go to your 1. 79th folder and pick the 4th patterned paper in it
2. 12th folder and pick the 9th patterned paper in it
3. 32nd folder and pick the 8th patterned paper in it
My papers to work with look like this - First a red and white damask by Chrissy W from her Dec Pea Soup papers, then a chartreuse hexagon paper by Michelle Underwood from her Flirt kit, and lastly a ledger paper by Audrey Neal.
THE CHALLENGE: Use whatever three papers you find in the spots (if the 79th folder happens to have no paper go to the 80th or next one that does) Page design with them - totally up to you. Upload your layout by the end of Saturday to be entered in a drawing for this week's 2Peas gift certificate. Oh, and don't forget to select the correct challenge box to be entered.
Here's the layout I was able to create with my random papers.
EXTRA LITTLE HINT: these cute doodled frames are coming tomorrow from Meredith Fenwick and the autumn leaves will also be released tomorrow as part of a mini kit by Angie Kovacs.
Drawing for last week's ... and the winner is Liz. I will get the gift certificate to you. Thanks for playing along
