Thanksgiving Place cards

Good morning, Peas! Lexi here today with my first post, sharing an easy tutorial for Thanksgiving place cards. It's hard to believe that in almost a week we will be gathering with family and friends, enjoying a meal that hopefully looks more appealing that the Griswold's.  (I really hope you get that reference, otherwise this post may be my last!)

2Ps-6
These place cards are made easy by using my Cameo. The design is simple enough that you could easily create something similar freehand style with scissors.

2Ps-1
I love washi tape. It's no secret. I will use it anytime I can. These mini clothespins are a great example. It's so easy to lay the washi tape right on them and trim to fit, totally changing the look. Here I used Freckled Fawn's woodgrain and gold star tape and October Afternoon's date tape.

2Ps-2
I cut out an acorn shape with my Cameo using Crate Paper's Pistachio Market paper . I love that one side has several designs and colors so it makes the acorn look almost pieced together. The heart is simply flipped over to the B side of the paper for a contrasting look. A scrap of gold paper makes for an unexpected cap. This Meadowlark paper from American Crafts would also look so pretty.

2Ps-3
The tag is cut from Pebbles' Take Note paper.  A shipping tag would also be cute. I added a few ink splatters because I like the look using October Afternoon's Token sprinkler. I found a great old ledger book at a thrift store several years ago so pieces frequently pop up in my projects. Here I used it for little name flags. If you don't happen to have old ledger paper you can find several versions in the shop including this one by 7gypsies and this one by Echo Park

2Ps-4
I added some stitching because I just can't NOT add it in some way. I feel like it helps finish off the tag.

2Ps-5
You can see I added some dimensional adhesive to the acorn cap. Just gives it a little extra something.

2Ps-6
I clipped the clothespins to a mini pumpkin stem and there you have it--simple, easy, crafty Thanksgiving place cards. If these showed up at my house for Thanksgiving I could see myself snagging one to scrapbook ;) If you aren't hosting Thanksgiving it might be a fun little something to make to bring to your host. Maybe along with a pie :)

Thanks for joining me today and Happy Thanksgiving!
