Blog Hop with Creative Imaginations and Xyron: Christmas Ornaments

Blog hop

This is our last blog hop post- hope you enjoyed this hop as much as we did!  If you missed some of the posts, check out this album- it has all the pictures from the hop!

Today, we're giving away two prize packs- a $100 prize pack for our favorite commenter, and a Red and Green Mixed Media Sampler.

Here's another ornament idea here using Gelatos, Stamper's Big Brush Pens, and Aquarelle Pencils.

I used one of Creative Imagination's stencil/ mask shapes.  The 3 holiday trees were perfect for this little shadow box.  I traced around it with the PITT Artist Pen in Black with a small tip.

Here it is after being drawn.

Next, I used the Aquarelle pencils which are watercolor pencils and I could shade with them. I wanted to create a gradation in each of the trees.

They look a bit more rounded now!  Start at the outside edges and work your way into the middle going from darkest to lightest.

Next I added the Twinkling H2Os to the top of the page and added water to allow them to drip.  These are so sparkly and beautiful!

I added some metallic silver with the PITT Artist Pen in silver for the stars.

Once that was dry, I scored my sides in at the 1" line.  I used a scoring tool by Martha Stewart for this ... made it so easy!

Cut along the score line until you hit the perpendicular line.  Do that for each of the outside joints.

I used the Xyron glue stick to join the corners by putting glue on the inside edge of the cut tabs.  Fold over and hold to create the box.

I also added some letter stickers, bling,  and die cuts by Creative Imaginations.

The back of the box is the silver foil paper and I added some more Twinkling H2Os with water to create a unified look.

Punch a hole at the top and bottom and add ribbon for hanging. JenMatott_CIXyron_Ornament24

I hope you enjoyed this little shadow box ornament.  I added some extras like lace edging and glue with glitter to simulate snow.   This is a pretty addition to your holiday decor!
