The Digital Challenge 01.19.2013 Alter Your Papers

Hi everyone - I'm bringing you this week's digital challenge, and thought we'd go heavy on the "digital" side of things this week. I remember when I was first starting in digital I rarely used the layer styles - probably because I didn't understand them and what fun they could be to work with. So that's my challenge - alter at least one of the papers on your layout. Of course, I'll accept other means of altering too, but hope that that having a blog issued "DOUBLE DOG DARE" to use the layer styles will get you to to play around with them. It really is fun!

On my layout I have four altered papers three done with layer styles and one not.

The gray damask paper was NOT altered with layer style but rather with color and lighting adjustments.

On the chance that you are new-ish to digital and don't even know where these are located I've included a couple of screen shots too. I'm really looking forward to seeing what fun creations you all come up with - Heaven knows that is my favorite part about these challenges each week.

	ammoje said... I am very new to PSE 11 and digital scrapbooking in general...can you alter ANY digital paper? Or does it have to be a special kind with "layers" already put in. Like if I bought any of the papers on this site, could I change the colors of them? 1/19/2013 7:35:59 PM

	Janelle Miller said... ammoje - yes, you can. Half the fun for layer styles is just playing with all the different styles to see what it looks like. (side note, gray patterns on top will give you more predictable results) 1/20/2013 9:12:49 AM

	dixlips said... I started paper scrapbooking first, then briefly did some digital stuff several years ago. I've got a new computer, downloaded PSE 7 & am getting all my files tagged in Organizer. LOL - and backing them up this time! Anyway...thank you for posting this challenge. I just took two seconds to see how it worked to alter a paper I didn't like the color of.
