" Reflection "- Gelatos on Canvas
Hello everyone, Swarup here with a canvas that's worth framing!.......
........and all it took me to create this beauty were some GelatosĀ® and Stamper's Big Brush Pens.
Last week we had some totally unseasonal warmth and of course instead of snow we had some really heavy downpour. This painting is a reflection of that beautiful winter evening . As I was driving through this rain , I noticed these beautiful colors being reflected in a puddle by the traffic signal, perhaps of the lights, colors of the cars and the sky, all blended together so well that it called for a beautiful painting!
..and what better way to depict water than by using water soluble Gelatos!
Here is step by step tutorial , so you can create one yourself..........
the supplies-
Step 1- Start with a pre- gessoed canvas or apply 2 layers of gesso befor you start , it helps the color to spread more evenly and easily. Apply mettalic Teal Gelato and spray water using a spray bottle enough to move the color and let it drip. These Gelatos are soft and creamy and full of rich pigment , they move so easily and despite all the water, the colors stay extremely vibrant.
Step 2- Apply metallic blue Gelato and repeat step 1
Step 3- Continue adding more colors and spraying them until they drip
Step 4- Add a hint of red Gelato and spray and tilt the canvas.
Step 5- Once you are satisfied with the depth of colors and the canvas is completely dry, take a bottle cap and stamp those circles and fill them in using Stampers Big Brush Pens .
Step 6- let dry completely, then take Glossy accents and apply it at the top and tilt your canvas
so that it has the drippy effect, like water flowing on glass!,
There you have it ..all done and ready to frame!....hope you are inspired and give it a try!

Swarup M. I am a self taught watercolorist and a trained textile designer . Over the last 20 years I have learned how to blend them both and bring that into my Papercrafting. I have been scrapbooking and card making for more than a decade now and immensely enjoy creating these mini masterpieces as I like to call them. I consider every card I create to be a miniature piece of art and usually favor a clean and simple style in my card making..and enjoy a bolder look in my Art journals. I enjoy photography and love to travel.
I blog as Sanketi and love sharing my work with others. I have been published in Designed to color magazine , Simply Handmade and Cards Magazines.
