5 Designer Tips with Victoria

Hello everyone!

I'm so excited to share with you my new Fancy Pants Designs project and show you five tips on how I usually create layouts. I love layers and clusters in my projects, so most of the tips will concern these techniques.

Swagger Clever / Swagger Gentleman / Swagger Galant / Etcetera Brag Pad / Etcetera Decorative Tags / Etcetera Flair / EtceteraClips / Artist Edition Adventere Set Stencils / Artist Edition Pattern Set Stencils

TIP #1 When I cut some dies with my Silhouette machine I use both positive and negative elements. Negatives I use as a photo mat.

TIP #2 To create more volume, I use different scraps of pattern paper, sometimes wrapping paper or even newspapers. To join them I use staples.

TIP #3 When I apply adhesive I usually do it not too close to the edge. This makes the project look lighter. To adhere snowflakes to this LO I applied small drop of glue just in the middle.

TIP #4 I also love to create clusters. To make them balanced I usually make a group of elements that are same in shape - stripes, circles, snowflakes, etc. The other thing that makes balance is using odd number of elements in total, it's not the rule but in most cases it helps.

TIP #5 Last but not least. The additional layer that gives the project more depth is background. I used different stencils and paints to create it detailed.

And my bonus tip : You don't need to wait for the new winter collection or use old ones to create a LO with winter photos. It can be neutral or even for spring or summer time. The main criteria is enjoy the process and the result!

Happy crafting everyone!
