Scrapbooking Summer Destinations with Nancy Damiano

It's that time of the year, when we gather our families (and sometimes our bags) and head out on a summer adventure. Whether it's a theme park vacation, weekend getaway, or a day at the local water park - family memories are being made. Let's not forget to scrapbook them!

Let's take a look at a trip with multiple destinations. I wanted to capture a small snapshot of each of the islands we visiting on our cruise. By using mini polaroid frames and one enlarged photo, three different islands were highlighted on one page.

A weekend trip to a local campground is embellished with themed elements and touches of wood. The use of an enlarged photo here highlights the who and where of this trip.

Creating a day-by-day layout is a great way to document a theme park vacation. An overview of which park was visited, restaurant meals, weather and a synopsis of the day's highlights is included in the page below.

Speaking of Disney vacations, the divided page protector style of scrapbooking is a quick and simple way to document dozes of photos in one simple format. For a peek at the completed album, watch the video HERE.

Days spent at county fair or seaside boardwalk can be scrapbooked in a grid design. This allows you to use many photos and include the story of your adventure or traditions. Watch a video of how this page came together here.

A day at the beach (although this wasn't a local one), is highlighted by using a monochromatic color scheme. This is a really easy way to set the mood of a layout.

One of my favorite ways to document summer destinations, is to created a themed minibook. Including family favorites, trip highlights and memorabilia in one small book is an excellent way to scrapbook those memories. Plus, they are fun to create!

There's an instructional video on how to include multiple photos, memorabilia and create chapters to tell your story HERE.

Scrapbooking summer destination is one of my favorite things to do. Some of our happiest families are made when discovering new places. I come back with loads of photos and stories to tell. If you'd like more info on how to organize and scrapbook your trips, check out Scrapbooking Family Vacations.
