Simple Crayon Transfer Technique

WindyRobinson_9.19.13 project
Hello all! Windy Robinson here and I'm so pleased to be here on the Faber-Castell Design Mempory Craft Blog today to share with you a simple technique for transfering Paper Crafter Crayons from scrap paper to your project. In this case I'm transfering a floral design to one of Design Memory Craft's Square Journaling Boards to create a cover for a mixed media journal. Ready? Ok lets go...

Using a white piece of scrap paper, draw image on paper on with crayons.

Draw multiple images to use in repeating pattern, heat iron and select surface for transfer. You can transfer to a flat, hard surface or a material that can will lie flat on a hard surface.

Place crayon drawing upside down on surface that you wish to transfer your image to. Place iron on image and press for 1-2 minutes depending on iron. Note: to avoid burning keep moving iron in circular motion. Iron each image that you have created 1 time.

4After ironing 1 time, retrace each crayon image with crayons, adding heavier strokes for more color, lighter strokes for less color. Iron images again and again adding more color after each ironing until desired background is achieved. Note: At this point you have a beautiful and soft floral background, if you like the background as it is pictured above stop and do not go further with the turorial.

Add centers to flowers using PITT® Artist Pens

Continue adding lines to outline flowers and add a graphic feel to project.

Finish by assembling book and embellishing with ribbon. Monogram with alphabet stickers.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Take care,

Windy Robinson Hello friends! My name is Windy Robinson. I have been scrapbooking since college, but ever since I started making cards several years ago, I’ve become obsessed with paper crafting. Since my daily duties are as a stay-at-home mom for my two daughters, my creative escapes usually happen late into the night.  In my spare time, I enjoy hanging out with my family and volunteering in my community. If I can do something helpful and crafty everyday, I’m a happy girl!
