Hello stampers!

I am here for Week 2 of Fall Stamp Camp. I am focusing on creating fun enhanced backgrounds. There are three techniques shown - all using the same products, but each giving different results.

Click HERE to see the cards, video and info.

I hope that you can all play along. Just create a project using a background technique of any kind and load it into the Member Gallery. Be sure to check the box associated with Week 2 of Stamp Camp. You will be entered to win a prize from 2Peas!

Feel free to post any questions here, and share anything you create!

Enjoy and have fun...

Can't wait to try these! I don't think I even have any background stamps, but I have lots of ink and clear embossing powder. I'm going to see if I can find something that will work for a background. Those cards look so fantastic, I'll definitely need some background stamps in my next 2 peas order.

you are all so kind.

if you don't have background stamps, you can stamp any stamp repeatedly to make your own background!

I posted a card, but I have a question about the embossing. I used Versamark and Zing clear embossing powder, but I have trouble getting a smooth look.

If you look at this card especially closely at the polka dots on the far right, you can see little gaps in the embossed dots (I hope that makes sense.) And the polka dots are kind of bumpy in some cases.

What is the most likely cause of this? Is it the stamping itself, or am I doing something wrong with the heat tool? I don't have too much experience with heat embossing, but I'm trying to learn.
Thanks!

Jennifer, I have a question about the first card. I just tried this (minus the step of inking the edges before you stamp, which I forgot to do). But on my card, instead of the embossed areas showing up white, they're just as covered in ink as the other areas. I used Versamark clear embossing ink and good clear embossing powder, but the colred pigment ink and the white cardstock were from a craft store.

What did I do wrong?

aJerseyGirl - is your versamark ink nice and juicy?

Ellen Pea - did you try wiping off the excess ink right away? should work.

Here are my submissions for this week:
1- for a baby boy - tone on tone technique
2- A Christmas card - also tone on tone
3-A birthday card - multi-color emboss and ink

I can't get a decent effects with patterned embossed and ink background, I don't have an ink which would be dark enough. But I keep this idea for later.

This looks so fun! It's too bad I'm swamped with student teaching right now to play along

I do have a question:
Do you have to use glossy white cardstock or is plain cardstock okay?
