I've been trying to use a .jpg to cut out on my Cameo. It's a team logo. I'm able to trace the entire thing, but it won't let me ungroup it like I want to. It's a round logo, with other colors and shapes inside it, and I'd like to cut the colors out separately. Is there a way to do this? I have the basic Silhouette software. Would I need to upgrade to the designer software to do this?
TIA for any help you can give this novice Cameo user.

After tracing JPGs you will need to right click and select "release compound path" if there is no ungroup option. That will then allow you to move and change individual pieces.

I found one on youtube. It didn't show the part about the compound path though.

Actually, now I am questioning my comments! It does work the way I said but I don't know if that is the easiest way. It is how I got it to work for me. I have only been using the software for a couple weeks though so there may be a pro here who can help more.

After you finish tracing - right click - you will have to either ungroup or release compound path depending on what shows up. The other option will be grayed out! And this true not just for tracing. Always right click and check. for eg If you want to color/fill an object - check if it needs ungrouping or release compund path and play with the options. sometimes if the obeject does not fill up then that means the path is not closed so you may have to manually edit and close the path!
