I love it, but can't tell if it's something pre-made from Crate or if she cut it out with a machine. Whatever it is, I MUST HAVE IT!

Can anyone help me out here:

Most likely a Silhouette cutting file! I'm not sure exactly which one, though, but if you search the Silhouette store for "heart" you might find it.

Ooh that's pretty! I'm crossing my fingers it's a cut so I can cut it with my silhouette.

Gorgeous layout! I didn't find a background like that in the Silhouette store, but I did find a shape that looks really similar: hearts . I wonder if she welded a bunch together to create the background?

Oh gosh....and how hard would that be? I've never welded anything together before....just the thought of it scares me!

Now see....it looks just like this one:

heart background

But it says that it's a print only....not intended to be cut. Can you cut it somehow anyway? And how would you go about doing that?

It is incredibly easy on the Silhouette. You would just position the shapes on your mat with the edges overlapping a bit. Highlight all the shapes and when you right-click it shows weld as an option. Select weld...and viola, you are done . It is one of my favorite features!

I haven't bought any of the printable patterns yet, but I wonder if it could be traced? I haven't tried to be sure, but I wonder if it would give a "clean" trace.

Kim, that's the only one I saw anywhere close to it, too. I'm thinking you could use the trace tool to make it into a cutting file.

Kim, from the looks I would say she welded that first file...

Once you get a section welded, you can then make it bigger by highlighting the welded shape, right click, copy and then paste...then you can weld THAT shape to your first shape, so that you aren't doing a bunch of smaller things again...

clear as mud?! LOL

Erin is a personal friend of mine and I believe she used a silhouette file with multiple images of the hearts in circles and welded it together. I hope that helps.

My cricut paper lace cartridge has a square of all lace like hearts. You could make it as big as you like. HTH
